Love this match. You can see the “aggression and determination” in the eyes of both teams. They play very aggressive tennis and it is very entertaining because of that emotions. That is something I miss in today tennis
Hlavackova and Hradecka were definitely one of the best teams on the circuit at that time, and I really thought that they were going to get to #1 someday, but their separation kind of broke everything. Yeah, they came back together this season, but they're not as good as they were before...Sad
wow czechs were unstoppable!! it was like every part of the court, they had it covered! and even some shots of the williams sisters that would have been winners to other opponents, the czechs could actually return and put the ball in play again!! wow!
Most teams make the mistake of going after Venus, not realizing she is the strongest of the two in doubles. The Czechs played fearlessly and really took it to Serena. Well done!
It’s quite obvious to see that Venus and Serena are not natural volley-ers. They play with power and you can see they don’t keep their cool when it comes to a volley battle, that doesn’t involve a swinging volley
U clearly don't know the sport very well. Serena may not be the best volleyer, but Venus is one of the best volleyers womens tennis has ever seen. And Serena hasn't dominated based on power alone. Serena's hands, technique and touch are just as impressive and as her power.
Disagree... Venus’ volleying skills is arguably unmatched. It’s actually one of her strengths. It’s not even a debate cause it’s a known thing. Serena I can agree.
K B you don’t win 14 grandslams (in doubles alone) by being just a power player. Doesn’t work in doubles. Ask any tennis player. To have won 14 grandslam titles your net game has to be on point. People think cause they have power that’s all it is.... trust me, both their net game is better than most... not to talk of their Wimbledon titles. dblog When you watch her play doubles and it’s against a natural volleyer like Petrova, Serena and Venus don’t keep their cool. They have great reflexes but you can very much see the difference. I’m saying they don’t have technical skills but make up for with their natural athletic ability.
