You did not listen. For example, on the carbon fiber tubing. What Jay is asking is really "Carbon fiber crash protection, really?" And the CEO points to he crumple zone down low. Seth Tyrssen don't tarnish the name, 'Seth' automotive hardware can't make the human body sustain greater trauma. This is a really good segment. You are right, this is the future of mass produced automobiles. They are beautiful, light, environmentally friendly, and I bet they can be easily outfitted with driverless technology which would dramatically reduce accidents and fatalities. This would be a perfect car for a daily commute. I used to commute 36 miles a day, hauling around 5,000 pounds of steel. Just a couple of things, it appears to be uncomfortable and tight, although you said you were OK, but it still looks tight. It seems to ride choppy, but that can be fixed with variable suspension tuning, and finally you forgot to ask about gas mileage. My guess is mid 20s in town and 35+ on the highway? This technology is the future, no doubt. Another excellent and informative segment, thanks Jay.

Folks whats impressive isn't the prototype but the engineering technology in producing the integrated parts which form the chassis. This is truly the future. The next technological automotive leap is organic based structural design. These designs increase production efficiency while providing lighter and stronger platforms. This technology will be used from aerospace to military to consumer grade products. Michelin just produced a prototype tire that incorporates the same structural design ideas where it mimics coral.

would buy this in a heartbeat if the design was finalized and made ready for production. I do have to have a laugh at some of the comments to this video complaining about door flapping or other minor things.. They only stated 239048329 times that it's a one-off design/proof of concept prototype. it's not even a prototype for production, but just a design prototype. So of course there will be issues with it as it's not a final product made for sale to consumers.

Yeah. The whole time he's driving he looks like he's in *Analyzing...* mode. It looks like the same face I had the other day when I borrowed my sister's car and after turning a corner and feeling an odd shh-thunk through the steering, I spent the next couple of blocks randomly shifting the car back and forth in the lane to feel it again, while making *that* face and thinking, "...is that the left inner cv joint going out now?" (it'd already needed to have the right inner joint replaced earlier this year). Yeah... I get that face *a lot* when I drive other people's cars. lol It's like Me: ....uhh, wheeeen was the last time you had your tie rod ends checked? Them: What are tie rods? Me: Ah. or Me: (making that face again) ...have you checked your tire pressure rencently? Them: Tire pressure? Me: (making a *new* face) you know, checked to make sure they have the right amount of air in them? Them: You put *air* in your tires?? Me: Ah. I swear, it's the same face. lol

Incredibly fascinating. We have seen a glimpse of the future of automotive engineering. This presentation has nothing to do with the demonstrator per se. It is about the engineering and production process, the technology, of the chassis. Once you build the foundation...the skin, accoutrements and aesthetics can be anything you want them to be. Is that really such a difficult concept to grasp?
