16:15 says it all. Jay’s face and boyish giggle (that we all have with a new toy) just shows his pure joy of cars and driving. That’s what I love and respect about Jay. Some billionaires go out and buy cars to put up and show off. Not Jay. He just loves each one in it’s respective right and he enjoys them.

Jay, I've seen this video a few times. It is the sweet spot for you and many of us. McLaren P1. The others (F1, Merc, 570) in the background. The CEO. The street driving in the hills. And most importantly the genuine enthusiasm on your face. Many many of us are saying "Thank you", and "Congratulations".

The P1 is seriously so beautiful. I saw it on the highway in Atlanta flying in and out of traffic and it is truly stunning and looks TINY. It seemed like the driver must have been laying down it was that close to the ground and small. Definitely my dream car after seeing it in person that day. It was white. Masterpiece! I hope you all can see one one day!

Jay is a car guy in the true sense of the word. Most of us will never afford a McLaren P1, but we feel quite at home looking over Jay's shoulder as he drives his, and being in on the conversation. He doesn't mind us going along for the ride. A "collector" never conveys that sense of sharing the experience. Love the video Jay! Enjoy the P1!

I had the opportunity to drive a P1 VERY VERY BRIEFLY and at low speed, but even then..... the car felt incredible. Even sitting in it is an experience, the steering felt very direct too. Surprisingly though it doesen't have a "rolling gear" like most semi-automatic-automatic cars have. Which makes it that much cooler to drive, because it feels a little bit like your driving a manual when your modulating the gas in and out slightly to set off. Also the doors have weights in them, so you need to let them simply drop by themselves, or else they will slam. I was fortunate enough to sit in a Mclaren F1 Longtail. It felt so special sitting in the center driving seat. I cant imagine what the F1 is like to drive.

I noticed something...most cars Jay drives, even the Bugatti Veyron and Hennessey Venom GT, he is very neutral and straight-faced during the drive, and even if he enjoys it, doesn't express it much. But when he drives the P1, he's always laughing and smiling. That says something.

Who's here in '19? This typifies Jays life, and the passion (for cars) he is so generous to share. Any Jay Leno video is compelling, beyond just a fun watch. No offense to the other great RU-vidrs out there, but Jay does some of the most awesome videos on RU-vid and he still gets less than a million views usually. He really deserves better. I don't think he cares though. He's just having fun. I just have such a hankering for an American Top Gear style show. All he needs is a floppy haired pedant and a short angry guy and we're there.

Sometimes I get jealous of people who have so much money that they can do whatever they want and price is no object but I am glad that you are able to do what your so passionate about. You are the most knowledgeable car guy I know of. Not only cars but everything that has made the human race advance to where we are today. I’m an avid fan of JLG ,but I’m late to the party watching Jay’s P1 video , and I must say I’ve never seen Jay so happy or giddy about a car ,and I think this is why I enjoy his show so much because he genuinely loves beautiful cars , he doesn’t buy them as a status symbol or investments that never get driven .

The only reason I can think of that would make McLaren not want to reveal the Nürburgring lap time is that the 918 is FASTER!!!!!(Not to mention more luxurious, cheaper, and the 918 was easier to get due to the larger number of cars produced) Porsche there is no substitute!!!

Nope, it isn't. The Caparo T1 is still the greatest car ever built. Followed by the Ferrari F50 GT.

I noted your lane discipline through the curves, the sign of a skilled, capable, quick driver. This car must surely be lauded as the best expression of what humans can do with art and technology. Anyone can go see the P1 on display at the Petersen Museum and linger in fascination around it as long as they please. McLaren embodies just the right kind of car style and experience, nothing more, nothing less.
