Sorry mate, currently I don't have a dedicated dual XLR input for the DSLR cameras. On the mic standpoint, especially on global launches, we are currently limited. Its something I would like to improve in future once we have the viewership to support the gear upgrade.

Interesting spec. Have you hear the Burmester sound system? That's my favourite Porsche option.

I've heard both and I don't think the Burmester is worth the extra 3,500 dollars, even in a car this expensive

Jack White I have Burmester on my C2S right now,....expensive, but money very well spent. It is one of my favorite options, it is simply that awesome.

I will admit it's a big departure from the standard audio system, but the Bose system gets you all of the same features apart from the subwoofer, and I see it as not having that big a sound difference...and when the Bose is about 1,500 and the Burmester is about 5,200 I expect a bigger difference in sound

Thanks, Jay! I wouldn't be so hard on Porsche. Customers are demanding it, and when they've got a box as good as the PDK, it's no surprise. Every sports car and exotic car maker is facing the same pressure from customers who won't or, probably more often than not, can't drive a manual. It's blokes like us who enjoy shifting ourselves that are going to be disappointed, unfortunately. Personally, I can't wait to see the GT4! The Cayman GTS I drove in Germany was awesome (since it had a better spec than we can get here).

Brian Makse I am sure your type of 'Sideways/tyre smoking ' review will be way more in line with a car's 'potential' capabilities as opposed to its 'suggested' type of use, hey there are plenty of people who like the tyre smoke and oversteer tests, nothing wrong with them, I personally just dont need to see a car tested like that because I will never drive the car like that on the road these days , even though I could as well as anyone who tests on RU-vid. My racing days are behind me and sophistication of performance is more important to me these days than that of the 'sideways/smokey' world performance application. You never know I may be in the US when you are going to do your 'Sideways/Smokey' review, we may have a 'Sideways/Smokey' competition, with a suitable side wager for the Winner, remember, us old Sprintcar drivers invented the World of 'Sideways'.

Brian Makse 'What's the steering wheel for'...to move the car around in the Pits after you get it out of the transporter and to get it back into the transporter 'after' the races...its not for directional use when you are driving in a race, I thought everyone knew that.

Brian Makse I notice with interest and some amusement that some people are getting their knickers in a knot because Porsche has decided to no longer make available a manual transmission, why would you want a transmission that is inferior in every way to the new PDK transmission. Mark Webber was recently asked what he thought of the decision to not make a manual transmission in a Porsche car anymore, he said..' Porsche have always been overall the leaders in performance car technology,they have simply made manual transmissions redundant, you simply could not drive a current 991 Porsche in any model faster with a manual transmission compared to the PDK, I absolutely know I couldnt work a manual gearbox at the speed or efficiency of the PDK,'... if one of the Worlds best drivers believes manual transmissions are inferior to the PDK why would anyone want a manual transmission. I know there will be the the cries of... ' I want to feel the purity of a perfect 'heel'toe' downchange, and I heave more control with a manual transmission'...I am certainly no Mark webber but I have driven the current Porsche Turbo with PDK and I have driven the last model with the manual transmission and the difference is staggering, no driver with any true competition experience would ever now want the , manual transmission. The reality is a manual transmission is simply inferior in every respect to the PDK now, and if people like myself ( and on a much higher level like Mark Webber) who have driven race cars for 30 years immediately dismiss manual transmissions compared to the PDK I wonder why anyone would not laud the PDK for what it actually is, a simply better driving control transmission. If you polled every world class race driver relative to the new PDK after they have driven it I would absolutely guarantee they all would have to say the PDK would allow them to drive the car quicker and more efficiently than with a manual transmission, they couldnt say anything else because all the testing data from guys like Webber and Porsche's general test drivers conclusively support that conclusion. I would be surprised if you yourself Brian didnt echo Mark webber's sentiments.

There are some people who just have to have a manual, I don't exactly know who they are, but they're out there. If they're looking at a 911, the GTS is a great direction. On the other hand, if you can live with a GT3 on a daily basis, then why not?

I am a die hard manual lover but even I can admit there are some cars that are far better off having dual clutch boxes. Without question M4, 991 Turbo and Alfa 4c. Yes I realize with two of them dual clutch is the only option. I will take a manual on NA or super charged cars, but anything with a turbo can really benefit from the flat and quick shifting DCT.

Brian Makse The 991 GT3 really isn't that much harder to live with than a GTS. Unless you get the manual, really not much point getting the GTS. However, while you gain from having a manual, you lose some in driving dynamic of the GT3. So it's really a trade off.

In my city, it definitely is more difficult to drive daily. Clearances and ride quality are two real considerations on my local roads.

Brian Makse Clearance is the big one, but the optional front lift does allow similar clearance as the GTS. And yes, you do have to remember to press the button! Ride is def stiffer. But ride quality isn't really all that much worst. The 991 GT3 is significantly more compliant than prior generation. I could easily live with it everyday. It is however true that the GT3 is missing two seats. Bu, if you are getting a 911, one should really only plan to use the rear seats occasionally, since leg room is very limited. It is really only suitable for short drive, or young child. The lack of rear seats does provide more storage space (but one can also opt to have the rear seats deleted in the GTS). IMO, the biggest compromise in the GT3 is the lack of a decent set of speakers. The sound package plus you can purchase with the GT3 is average at best. True you do have the awesome engine note, but if you are going to live with it everyday, having a decent set speakers.is very important.

I wonder how much people bother to watch stuff in 1080. I know that I don't bother but perhaps our viewers can chime in.

For whats its worth the next video review that will be posted tomorrow will be in 1080 for your viewing pleasure.

Nick Busato It would not be just for me, clearly i am not the only person to have thought this... dont get me wrong, it would benefit both parties to be able to enjoy the video in higher quality...

720P was used for a while on the channel since the video output on the Nikon D3s was limited to that. The lower resolution also allowed for more freedom in stabilization, cropping and also a boost in sharpness due to down sampling. With that said anything that gets pushed though my edit suit will now be at 1080 and a much higher bitrate than before. The aston v12 vantage roadster that will go live in a few moments will be the first project to feature it. Some older projects you will see in the future will not feature this as they were shot and edited on the older software and gear. So long as the channel continues to grow at a high rate, I will be able to justify a dedicated 4k camera. This is not to say I will ever upload in 4k, but it shoots at a higher bitrate and downsampling to 1080 makes for a mental sharp image.
