hey i was just browsing youtube and found your videos! i really enjoy them, very helpful, fun to watch and not boring like the other channels! love your work :D
Beauty! Thanks Tom. I love your comment about a caffeinated squirrel! We see the little rascals in our hazelnut tree every year... 911 parked next to you at Costco I noticed. Musta been a big special on toilet paper 😀 Silly question: was that a real centre lock wheel nut? As seen on a GT3. Cheers.
Those cup holders lol. Wondering who got that job... I know there was an old 7 series BMW where they let the engineering interns design the fold out cup holders haha
Thank you! For getting the name right, which so many editors and reviewers don't. Love your videos as well... I think they're some of the best- thanks! g-
***** And it's amazing the pushback people have when they are told it is not pronounced "porsh". The most common response is "I don't want to sound like a pompous ass". Maybe it's just me but accuracy should never be confused with arrogance. Now lets tackle Hyundai...
Poor Tom, having to reach out for the ignition on the wrong side for an entire week! Tough job, eh? Those cup holders tho... I'd say that a car is only as good as its cup holders (or the lack of 'em) so the way Porsche engineered them shows how far away they are from competition...
Tom, I would love to hear your impressions of the driveability, character, sound and the new 3.0 litre engine, of the 991.2 Carrera/Carrera S/GTS as soon as you get a chance.
ray britton That's one I'd have to see in person (photographs are notorious for not truly representing the way a car looks in person). My initial take is that it's elegant, I'm just not sure if the back end is too heavy. Sadly I'm not at Pebble to see it.
After they switched to water cooled, my dad couldn't get over it lol, had a 1994 Porsche 911 with 9k miles, just sold it for $75k, for a 26 year old car man! I couldn't get over it lol
my smart is in the shop, MB gave me a new C300 4Matic as a free loaner(this thing costs as much as a year's salary for me, twice the size and weight of my smart with 3 times the ponies!) maybe i can win the lotto and get a Porsche :)
Depends. If you're talking about the turbo s then no it's not overrated. Turbo s competes with much more expensive super cars and is a better performer. The base 911 is a lot of money tho
True that. All 911's are incredible machines. I once owned an 87 and it was sensational and beautiful. They are tremendous in every way. Way expensive though.
If you live in the US then they are cheap compared to other countries and no one can complain there. A lot or r&d and production costs. I have to buy them used as they are priced much higher for me. Most 911 owners like me do not want a modern look like an R8 or Mclaren/Ferrari as we would not buy it if it looked too modern. Other brands sports cars are looking like space crafts. I own Audis and Porsches. On my 3rd 911, a 991S. Thought about an R8 but the looks just do not appeal to me. I do have 475hp monster S4 though which is as quick as most older R8's. I can push a 911 hard full throttle to over 7000 rpms each weekends on rough side roads and it just keeps on going running like new year after year with very little servicing.
