The wheel speed sensors go out on Jeep JKs all the time. They do pretty much same thing and can even stall motor on turns. Great video these will blow up your subscriptions keep them coming 👍🏻👊🏻
I appreciate all that you do on your channel, Rich. As technicians value any information on troubleshoot newer vehicles. The shop rates at the moment are through the roof, and most of the time warranty doesn’t cover most concerns. I purchased a bumper to bumper extended warranty, and the warranty did not cover a faulty DEF system used on my truck.
Those extended warranty companies are scams. In the fine print they basically make it so they can legally make excuses why they won't cover something. I purchased one for 2000 dollars from Alpha Warranty and they didn't cover anything.
I just did my brakes on a 2006 ranger and the caliper cradles nicely on/in the upper control arm. Since I was doing a preventative brake pad and fluid flush, just tucking the caliper was good. I probably would need to secure the caliper if I were to change the rotor or repack the hub bearing. I agree with you on not needing to go overboard with hanging the caliper, you obviously did the right thing to investigate the cause of the failure and not just fix the cause of the fault light.
Re Parking Brake. It has been my habit (40+ years driving) to always set the parking brake when I park and switch off the engine. Just one of those discipline things.
Rich, I wish I had you to work on my 2008 Ford Fusion. I'm having to teach myself because I have giving up on finding a decent mechanic in the area I live in. I know there are a lot of great mechanics like you.... I've just been unfortunate not been able to find one. Great Job Sir!
I did lower ball joints on my F150. They weren't really that bad, but the place I bought it from told me to change them. The hub and everything else looked very good, it spun freely with no binding. I put lots of red mobil 1 synth grease on the IWE synchronizer.

Years ago I put a wheel hub bearing on a Chevy truck, and afterwards it was acting crazy, abs actuating, among some other weird stuff. Checked wheel speeds for all hubs, and the replacement one had the wrong tone wheel. Got a new part and all was well.
Sometimes I wish all ford repair shops had your knowledge you make sure the correct part is fix for the correct code cause some fuel system codes in a 2005 Ford Taurus they fix the fuel pump cause is had a code pop up for it. But it was like a control fuels system sensor I glad you go trough every part of a problem make sure it fix correctly the 1st time

Great content ! My 2019 F150 2wd went heywire yesterday while driving. The ABS and advance trac lights came on the dash. Also, the power steering assist went out. The truck has 71k miles. Off to the Ford dealer i go, Lol

Thanks for the good wishes. My road is now short but the painkillers are holding it in check for now. I wish I had longer but it seems not to be. The gods have seen fit to land me with some sort of brain problem as well as the throat tumour. I can think well enough mostly, although I have been losing words and getting a bit confused at times. I don't know you but I thank you for your thoughts and wishes. I am still here much to the surprise of many and intend to stay a bit longer if possible. I replaced an abs sensor on the rear tire. Took it to auto zone and they checked it with the diagnostic computer and that's how I new which sensor to replace. Hope this helps and good luck
In the early 80s I worked as a GM technician. I used to think if only the engineers and corporate guys would listen to what we see in the field they could fix problems quicker. Then I was educated on the cost of just a plastic shield or a little metal clip and how much it cost to repair ect . Now I get it it’s just how the whole system works.a And yes even Toyota for those Toyota zealots
I have the same issue on my 2016 f150. Advtrac and abs only go off when i turn my wheel to the left? I jerked the wheel going left one day bc i hesitated in traffic.
Just threw these codes the other day. Been feeling the faintest of vibrations (i can only really feel it over 65mph and with no ambient sounds on incredibly smooth roads) from my driver side front end for a few months. If that side sensor tests low on ohm's is it a safer bet to just buy a whole new bearing and sensor bundle or just go with the sensor?
I’ve had some whining in my steering wheel. Suspected the bearing. Now my truck throws the advanced traction warning and I suspect the bearing is out. Uhh!!! I can’t afford this.

Why is having the parking brake on weard it's a good habit to get into my vette is a manual transmission my truck is automatic I put the parking brake on everything so theres no forgetting when your driving a stick..
For the abs cable, my driver front is missing the clips to attach to the harness and the previous owner used electrical tape it looks like to tie the 2 wires together. The other side shows the right setup but my abs light is on and I was just wondering if it was because they spliced the wires instead of using the push connectors
@FordBossMe I did replace the hub assembly and it came with the new speed sensor and wiring. But the clip connector on the end that clips to the clip under the hood wouldn't snap in place as it was broken so I cut off the connector and twist tied and soldered the two wires in place of using connectors. Is this okay? Or should I replace the original connectors under the hood
I have replace my front left sensor twice but the ABS and traction lights are still on ….Rear Park aid is also faulty after new parking sensors were installed …Any help 🙏🏾🙏🏾?
Okay so if you have issues with the rear parking sensors you're going to have to have them diagnosed and it's not going to be just some quick tip over the Internet you're going to have to look through my videos at proximity sensors we're parking sensors and you're going to have to put yourself a little book together to try to figure out exactly what to do You're going to probably have to look for shaved wires in the rear look at the fuse box look at diagrams if you can find them on the Internet If you change just the sensor in the front it may not be just the sensor issue you might have to change the whole hub assembly
Have a 2017 f150 platinum that disabled multi things to include my power running boards. Code reader states right front wheel sensor. Replaced sensor and now reader states wrong part installed. Should I just replace the wheel bearing as well? Please help.
I was hoping you’d answer my question, I just had all these lights come on & my power steering went out a few days after, they just replaced the rack a year ago , can these sensors make the rack go bad? I’m sure I need rear speed sensor’s because brake dust was bad
Typically the reason the rack goes bad is because it itself has a problem or there's some kind of battery power or ground connection problem that you have to have somebody look at and diagnose
Question, I just replaced the abs sensor on my 2018 Edge 2.0, I managed to break it last week while fighting to remove the wheel hub from the knuckle and the advancetrac and abs light turned on, as well as notifying me that park assist and hill start assist were disabled. I replaced it today and the lights still stayed on. I only have a simple basic OBDII scanner that only checks the engine module, so I tried disconnecting the battery ground for 10 minutes and they are still on. I know I ordered the correct sensor and installed it correctly as well, does this code have to be cleared out by a more advanced scan tool?
Possibly but I've always been able to just drive it afterwards and it resets on its own before I even make it out the garage door if it's just an ABS sensor

I could use some help advice if you wouldn’t mind please. Using Innova 5610 scanner I get a C1107 ABS Function Enabled Input Circuit Failure code. I have a 2000 Ford Expedition 5.4 EB. I have tried researching what this code means and I can’t find a straight answer by Google searching and Ford forums. I did a voltmeter test on the ABS speed sensor wires. I got 5 volts from connectors up inside wheel well. I got changing voltage readings by spinning the hubs. Not sure the next steps to go.
Thanks for the reply I’m sure your busy. Still learning the scan tool. So I did a full system scan with vehicle running and it popped up that both front left and right speed sensors faulty. Next I did the live data while driving around and it was showing the same speed readings for all wheels??? If both front speed sensors are bad then why would they give speed readings in live data mode?
I did notice a delay in the speed measurement reading of 1-2 seconds for the front left sensor but after that small delay it was reading the same info as the other 3 sensors.
Would the wheel sensor also cause the power steering to stop working? I have all the same lights that came on my dash and today my power steering stopped.
Sorry one more question will the truck always throw a code on a code reader when ita plugged in? I have the ABS light and the traction light on and my console says service advance trac, hill climb assist fault and also steering assist fault service required. But not codes are showing up on the reader, should I try and find a different code reader or would that indicate a different problem with my truck?
Hey brother, I replaced the entire wheel bearing assembly just like you did in the video but the steering assist fault light is still on and the steering is still heavy / stiff. Do you happen to know why my computer did not reset? Will it take a few miles I only drove it home about 12 miles. The ABS light turned off, the hill descent, traction control also turned off. you
Excellent video!!👍 I’ve got a 2016 Ford F250 super duty truck. The speed sensor skid light has been coming on and flashing and chime sound. On my 500 mile round trip… the skid light and chime sound never disappeared. Returning home… the speed sensor skid light continued, chime sound and more dashboard lights began to come on! Now… skid light, ABS, Batt, Brakes show up at different times and the signal Light stopped working and all the gage controls stop working for a few seconds then begin to work. I bought 4 news tires the week before this all began! Does anyone have any suggestions??

I don't know what that code means when you guys come here you should have the description of the code in your comment because we don't remember what each one of them mean and we're not always going to go back to our own manual and look them up for you, especially on Thanksgiving so you need to do your part and tell me what the code means

Right now on my 17 fusion if I turn my wheel all the way to the left my ABS, advanced track, hill decent control, and rear parking Aid lights come on and my power steering goes away. After 1min everything goes back to normal. Ford appointment is this week but I found it pretty interesting. The car has also stalled on me twice with "start stop manual start required" light comes on.
