The US version has 435 hp, 400 lbs torque and a top speed of 164. And a little more then that once you get an X-pipe and Roush axleback exhaust on :)

Nice review! Thanks for posting this. I just picked up a 2017 GT yesterday, and whoa what a bunch of fun to drive. Behaves well in corners...except when you want it to misbehave....and it does that very well.

When you want to have a bit of fun on windy roads, put the auto in sports mode and use the paddles, you won't get the delays you speak of, the changes are almost instantaneous. I have the GT and I love every time I hit the start button, every time I take it for drive (even if it's just to the shops), and I love the 'feel good' feeling when being in the car and even that everyone who has been a passenger also experiences and just feeling great for owning one. 3 things Ford can do to improve (1) move the hand brake to the drivers side on RHD vehicles so that you're drink bottles don't get in the way when using the gear lever[this has been a common negative feedback to Ford in Australia] (2) have drink holders in the front door cubbies (3) have 'active' cruise control as this car is a great Grand Tourer on highways/long trips so it's not necessary to reset the cruise control every time you approach a slower vehicle - which is often for me.

Whatever you do don't get the auto when a perfectly good manual in offered.

You should have said about the differences: the front fake day running lights, back simplified turning light and break lights and of course the shift knob which is not been moved to the driver on the right side - they just left it where it is with left wheel drive. All this aspects make me want to buy a car from Germany and order a replacement for the front and back lights.

I have a 67 mustang coupe custom. Cost £1000 to ship and 5% duty. That's all. Well worth doing imo if you love old mustangs. Reliable and hard as a tank too. Love it.

That color is great

I like how the European versions get the chrome liner on the windows and the whited out rear lights. And the color selection make it blend in just a tad, instead of screaming yellow (an actual name used for yellow Mustangs).

I've never seen one on the road, saw a convertible V8 in the dealership it looked good

Lovin' my GT (3 weeks in) - width is a bit of an issue in busy car parks, or reverse parking on narrow streets. It almost fills a standard space leaving next to no room to exit. MPG on tesco runs is non existent (~10mpg), but on motorway with cruise control on can easily reach 28mpg (assuming no traffic jams). Longer drives on normal roads I have been getting ~19mpg or ~15mpg with a heavy right foot. Stick it in wet mode, and it becomes a docile tedy bear and will do 20mpg pottering around. I don't like the "Normal" driving mode setting as the throttle doesn't respond directly to your input, it sort of thinks about what you are asking it to do, then gives you something slightly different from what you wanted. Sport+ gives a direct throttle response which is much more predictable. Steering 'comfort' can be adjusted, but again Sport setting is the only setting for me, which makes it slightly more heavy. Ride is firm, you feel those bumps and pot holes, but it corners well, in the dry at least.

That Euro version seems to have a lot of extra chrome details that we don't have in the States. I'm glad we don't lol.

As an American, I'm most interested in the Ecoboost. I loved my brother's 1986 SVO Mustang and I think the Ecoboost will have that same magic.

The good thing with these Mustangs is there is a huge selection of after market performance parts. You can turn the 400 hp to 700 easily.

I think the clear taillights are cool but they aren't available in the us or nobody buys them, I'm not sure which.

Does that mustang have premium or not?

Did this guy really have a problem shifting the manual? Does it have the same trans as the 2013 GT? I test drove one of those and it was one of the easiest to shift cars I've ever been in...

The grass is still greener over here in the US :D .... Not only are we getting 20 more horsepower and 10 more ft-lbs (435hp and 400 ft-lbs)... We get all this for the equivalent of £22,600 ;-)

Disappointed they didn't give you the track package. Has better tires with nice gauges replacing the center vents.

Probably the only person that would make me watch a new BBC top gear. Also all of the draw back's you gave for this car are exactly why I love modern american muscle, and you did touch on those as positives, just saying you don't buy a camaro or a mustang for refinement, it's all about badassness and sexy sexy looks.

America needs to make more track friendly,hoon-y type cars. Drag racing is a big thing here but I like to race in things BESIDES a straight line damnit!!!! (Also,Britain got the Escort Cosworth. They can't complain)

Am happy you like the new 'Stang; I simply had a brief ride in this new one, and would rather have the Fiesta you lot can have. Truly, Ford have given us only a taste of their "global" offerings; trust me, you get the kit.

Driving the Mustang with the Ford Interceptor engine on the Autobahn from München to Stuttgart was a moving experience...135 mph and stable as a table. The Germans and Italians looked at the 'Stang and said "WTF" (in their native tongue, of course)...a car made in America is no longer a pejorative. Kudos to Ford...a world-class auto maker.
