I just finished installing the subispeed f1 rear fog light, the rear looks complete now with the r400 quads. Guys get the plug and play harness, it will save you trouble.
I love the way these look. Ive never seen one with a reverse light built in so that was interesting, but near me there are a lot of 350/370Zs with this. The obnoxious part is they have it flashing constantly like an F1 car and its so bright its too distracting.
GREAT Channel T-WRX!! You've helped me out with my - Grimmspeed License relocation kit, LED Reverse light, LED license plate light, & looking forward at installing my rear fog light. Keep up the good work!! I'm sure you've helped many other car know nothings like myself :). THANK YOU>
The2basic that's awesome dude! I really appreciate the kind words! I'm happy the videos can share some knowledge and help make people not afraid of doing some mods!
Hey man! love all your videos and as a personal trainer I've gotta condemn them all the same! haha I've adopted your taco bell ritual whenever I modify my car now and I've been doing a lot of modifications lately! so way too much T-Bell! Anyways, I got a question, I'm installing the tail as turn harness this week and have the same rear fog on the way as well. Looks like your buddy tapped into the factory wiring, not the harness. Am I right? just wanna make sure so I'm not splicing into the harness unnecessarily! Thanks a bunch for all the great content my man!
haha! TB is life man! Fitness or not, I'm going to slay some of those tacos! But regarding the harness stuff, yes he went with the factory wiring. Mostly because that's how the instructions will tell you to do it and you don't have to translate that into the tail as turn harness wire colors etc. Keeps both mods separate, but I bet you could use that TAT harness as well. I know subiebros.com is actually working on a plug and play rear fog harness too, should be out shortly!
T-WRX bad ass man! thanks a bunch! haha taco bell is indeed life! they just opened one up less than a mile from where I live so it's convenient for my finished car projects!
Firssttt!! Looks awesome bro, as you know though haha I have the rear foglight too! I'm a huge fan of the look and style of the JDM one, too - Looks good man!!! Congrats on 6K Subs too!!!!!!! Cheers bro!
Grats on 6K. I am going to pick one up too, but only single function for fog (miss that feature from my SAAB). Philips LEDs provide a ton of light for reverse as is.
Good news on that. I know that Subispeed offered up a wiring kit that ran the length of your car to make this happen. This is one of the many things I wish USDM included. I was just in Japan and saw several JDM Subies with things like rear wipers (sedan), headlamp washers, and rear fogs as standard.
Usually the older BMW's have issues with the heat shield rusting and then hanging. I had the same issue with my E46 in Germany. It's not a huge deal, I took mine completely off lol XD
Yeah I think mine is actually the shield under the driveshaft but over the exhaust. I took it off to replace the shift bushings and I think i may have bent it accidentally :(
what does it mean when you say splicing the wires are u actually cutting thru the wire a little??? cause mine won't turn on but I'm guessing it's cause the taps are loose and I'm afraid to push them all the way down feels like I'm gonna cut the wire in half ha???
it is possible to tap into the tail as turn harness instead of the factory wiring. you know how that would be done since I assume the wire colors would differ.
I'd love to see someone who's installed this with BSD...tail as turn bunes out the BSD as I learned and I don't know if I can run the F1 light I have. So frustrating
Comes on with the headlights there is no fog wiring to the back of the car. It could be done to work with the fogs but it'd be a decent amount more work.
