"Used to sleep 'til afternoon, Growin' up to an easy tune, My recruiter came to me, Asked me what did I what to be!" You're a legend man! Thanks for your uploads and Semper Fi!
Brings back memories. About time they have cadence calling contest videos. I prefer more of the old school cadence. Actually its generational. Depends how old you are. lol....Because you related to the drill cadence you heard in your boot camp or when you were a DI on the drill field.
James I was a recruit in 1987, went to DI School 4 years later. Was stationed on the Depot 2 years prior to school. You used to work in the G4 didn't you?
I was in Charlie Company 1st Bn. Then worked in the Generals Building for the Depot Adjutant office. Sgt. Major Overstreet was Depot Sgt Maj before being selected for Sgt Maj of the Marine Corps.
James Yes, the Adjutants office. We used to chat from time when I would fill in as the CG's Driver. You had a photo of one of your Platoons (1027) hanging up behind your desk.
Dang you are for real.. What a good memory. Send me a private message on here for contact info. I am working with a former WM that was in my office back then. She got out in 90 and I got out in 92. We still wear the tan and green but for another organization. I just looked at that platoon photo last night. A young girl just came on our dept last name HARDWICK. Found out her dad is retired Sgt Maj Hardwick and he knew me back in 87 when I was TAD in D company for two weeks. I knew him years before she was born...small world. She is only 20 years. Yes the DI pic you see is how you remember me. I am old now..lol.
I been trying to get your cadences calling down for the past 2 weeks for a NJROTC LEADERSHIP ACADEMY that I'm going to tomorrow for a week and I hope I can call the cadence the way you do.
