Thanks for making the video but you're crazy using an impact, it only tightens to 2.5 NM. You saved my ass on the priming procedure with the push button start. Thanks
I did my 2019 L5p no problem tightening the housing until it stopped, did my dads 2020 Denali the same way and it was spraying fuel out, loosened it one turn and it was fine no more leak.
Be really careful not to overtighten or crossthread when putting canister back in; I did this and then was unable to remove / unscrew the canister. Order an ofter market aluminum housing because pkastic housing OEM became stripped
Black market performance cat fuel filter kit is awesome, I recommend it had it on my truck since 7k miles I’m at 33580 miles no problems, also cat filter cheaper than oem style, something to think about.
I have the BMP filter conversion... when I first primed it, it sounded horrible! Grunting and whining and fuel running back into the tank. But it’s good now
Very informative video. It's crazy to think what the dealerships charge to do simple maintenance items like this. A fuel filter costs $30-35 for material and takes 5-10 minutes to swap out. A dealership would easily charge $100+ to do it.
I just changed my fuel filter the second time and noticed after changing and priming it, a sort of rushing diesel sound is happening by the fuel filter. Dont remember that noise the first time I changed the filter. Is that a normal sound?
Depending on the age and mileage of the truck. Most people ask if these trucks can tow or haul so and so weight or drive for so and so miles, but for the most part for the newer trucks they’re so robust just get in and drive don’t over think it. Keep them fuel filters changed on the regular if you have an LML and oil is important for everything the only thing holding back the newer trucks is the emissions but just get in and drive and keep the fluids changed brother. No worries man 👍
That housing is going to break. There have been multiple issues with them. Amazon sales an aluminum one for like 100 dollars. Its well worth it the purchase.
Quick question after replacing my fuel filter on my 21 dmax i see like a light sweat like on the housing how do i know if i need to tighten it more. I dont wanna over tighten it. I used a impact as well.
My 2020 at4 has been in the shop for 3wks due to dif tank needing replaced. They are on back order and no Timing when one will be available. Looking to delete and tune any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. About to loose my mind over this shit
I'd be doing a lift pump asap if all my truck had was that pos filter cartridge with a plastic housing. Unbelievable how they go as cheap as humanly possible on important things to save a penny.
I would definitely suggest finding a different place to get fuel, or get it from same place all the time unless u are on a trip. Your filter should NEVER be nasty looking or black with dirt and contaminants.
