How many engines does a McLaren-Honda need to finish a race? Three. One for the F1 car, one for the car for Alonso to flee the scene and one for the tow truck to carry the car across the line ...
Alonso's start was immaculate really jumping to P7 and was so close to Ricciardo at the start...I felt so bad when he got swallowed and was P11 by lap 6..the worst was seeing him completely helpless on the straights..he won't even be in a good car next season it's such a shame
felt bad too when vettel was 10cm behind hamilton after eau rouge 2 times and the mercedes engine just has a laugh. there was no way vettel could get passed...
The power of that Mercedes engine... As soon as that Ferrari got off the slipstream to try to overtake it completely fell behind about 10kph... Insane...
I know this comment is really old. But hamilton was actually lifting before eau rouge so that vettel would catch him too early and not be able to get the full tow. big brain move
Hamilton before entering eau rouge let off the throttle just a touch, that allowed for Vettel to close up too quickly down the Kemmel straight, thus he had to pull out of the slipstream and alongside him,and the superior power of the Mercedes engine does the rest in securing Hamilton the lead
Fernando Alonso Go indy for 1 year , win championship and return f1 when honda make a good car. Button can replace you for 1 year (later he want to go race in japan and Norris is too young) . We want you wining Fernando , anywhere
So Kimi gets a penalty for not lifting off the throttle for a split second, yet Perez gets nothing for almost obliterating his teammate? Yeah, that makes sense...
well if u think abit further then u do kimi dident slow down at all and perez drowe a whole lap with 3 weels so he lost so much time anyway but i agree it was a ugly ass move he did on ocon
Because the Perez incident was a racing incident. Ocon was not alongside, he was just showing his nose a little bit going into a closing gap and Perez was taking unnecessary risks.
MRFUCKOFF202 the regulations forbid a driver to make use of the full width of the track when a car is along side. Along side meaning in this context having a part of the front wing next to the rear tyre
It's not just Mclaren Honda though is it. Its leaving Mclaren when they had a championship winning car because he blackmailed the team costing them $100m all because they told him to earn his number 1 status. Its leaving Ferrari and burning bridges just as they were coming good leaving Vettel to enjoy what is the best car on the grid at the moment. So I would say if Alonso was a bit easier to work with and didn't have the patience that would make a toddler blush, he would probably be in a much better position than he is today.
@Blazzz Mayne The Ferrari is not the best car right now as you can clearly see in the constructor championship. I suppose some aspects of the Ferrari are better, but the impact of the stronger Mercedes power unit is really significant.
Vettel was right behind hamilton and alongside him in Kemmel straight and as you saw in 2018, had vettel enough power he would pass no matter what. Mercedes engine was just better in 2017.
- Awesome start to the race. Everybody got away cleanly. Lots of slicing and dicing included. - The two Force India's make contact faster than ever... *They really don't like each other.* If they were in a top team this would be fantastic drama but its sad when they cost force India points - Another fantastic 3 way featuring McLaren, Renault and force India (shades of Australia) - More misery for Max verstappen... Getting a bit ridiculous now - More misery for Alonso and McLaren... Getting a bit ridiculous now - Kimi didn't seem to be able to keep up his form from Friday unfortunately - The consistency of the penalties still sucks. What Alonso did was punishable (I personally like that racing) but lighter things have been called yet he was allowed to carry on. - Jolyon Palmer has to be the unluckiest driver, along with Max. - The two force India's dangerously collide again... They really don't like each other. - *Daniel Ricciardo with some more safety car magic!* - Ferrari were pretty close on a track that doesn't necessarily suit them. Now Mercedes need an answer and fast. - Well managed race by Lewis and a good strategy by the team - Bottas was uncomfortable all weekend but he needs to be there to take points away from Ferrari (Vettel more specifically) - *Another sneaky podium by Ricciardo and did well to hold off Raikkonen/Bottas* - *Maybe the one flaw of these 2017 cars is their inability to follow each other closely.* Decent race.
3:23 If Magnussen got a penalty in Hungary Alonso should also be giving a penalty and points on his licence for this incident🤔
5:28 Wolf's and Lauda's jubilation after their car finish 1st. Holy shit man, what an explosion of joy. As if it had been easy.
Force India will never accept Pascal Wehrlein, they said so before the season started as they said he had a bad attitude. Mercedes kind of said the same reason, I actually think he's got a good attitude as so far, we haven't heard him be mean to anyone on the radio. He's only had "Yeah I wish I could get out of the car now" when he had that crash in Monaco and when he asked if he could pass Ericsson only for the team to say only if he is fast enough.
+RomanceWriter1 Honestly, it's like a competition for DNF'S between Wherlin and Alonso. Personally, I wish Pascal would return to DTM where he left as the Champion. Formula1 just doesn't seem to be a match for him (back marker or MercedesAMGF1)... He simply doesn't have the stuff! Get in where you fit in... DTM Champion v. F1 back marker? Doesn't take a genius to figure that out... Go back to the DTM! Ridiculous waste of time, energy and resources.
RomanceWriter1 if they claim he has a bad attitude I don't imagine it will be for things broadcasted over the radio, it'll be behind the scenes stuff that we don't see
As a Ferrari fan I have to admit Lewis did a fantastic job that day. Btw I still remember the thrills when him and Seb passed through Eau Rouge flat out with no more than a couple of metres to separate each other, astonishing. Even the 3-men battle behind has been awesome, F1 needs more of this, even if it is on the good way in my opinion.
3:48 3:50 Guys, what the-- (beeps)? Honestly, what the (beep) this guy doing?
Ace Reaction Don't blame the tool. Blame the idiot using it. How is Riccardos car so consistent. Is it a conspiracy against Max? He pushed to hard again simple
Ace Lediac Why does Riccardo's engine always make it to the end but not Max's? It's the same engine and car. It's not a conspiracy (unless you're crazy). It can't be bad luck as the probability of that is way to high. It's MAX! Stop being a Max fan boy and open your eyes!
Ace Lediac Drivers have to drive within the limits of the car. If you push any engine too hard you will break it. Max needs to learn this and then he will be great
5:56 Hamilton: Oh that was a good win, that was a sexy win! Starts spraying the Mercedes guy on the podium Vettel: I came in second so ill just casually take a drink, no spraying today fam
What do you mean? The Mercedes worked better on the softs anyway plus the superior Mercedes power really favored him on this track. Lewis did a flawless race even while under pressure but not "impressive", not buy the top-drivers standards.
SufferingAddict How not? Vettel was on tyres two compounds softer, so no matter what that should have made a big enough difference in S2. Vettel with slipstream and DRS should still be enough to pass.
He did not have DRS at any point in the race actually. He also ran with less downforce than the Mercedes (and less than Kimi also) which pretty much compensates the softer tires and as you could see the two times in the race when Vettel tried to pass, as soon as he was besides Lewis and had no slipstream anymore you could see how the Mercedes started to pull away again because of the better power unit. There was no way Vettel could get past except if Lewis made a major mistake. As I said it's a good performance not to make a mistake when it counts, but a good performance is what you expect from a multiple world champion (which is why I said it's not impressive when one of the top-drives does it, would be different with some rookie).
Verstappen consistently driving better than Ricciardo but Red bull just doesn't have their shit together. It's such an embarassment as a top tier team to be having this many issues.
Mirage Max will be a great driver when he grows up. He needs to stop destroying his car. Riccardos engine doesn't give up every second race. There is a reason for that. Maybe there's conspiracy at Red Bull against Max?
Lucas Browne "He needs to stop destroying his car" Are you serious? His team even confirmed it wasn't Max breaking the car, the parts are just terrible
@@martingonzalez2850 Well, I am in that space pretty much. And I am not saying nobody should risk their lives for something. But to end your confusion: by that comment, I meant that now, when we are so used to cars with halo, it seems very strange to see the halo-less cars again, in race. That was my feeling which I shared and frankly, yes, I am happy that there is lower probability of driver dying now.
Boston 00 maybe, but ricciardo and Kimi both also passed a Merc with dirty air. Alonso in a Honda passed on the same stretch. Many overtakes on that stretch of track but Hamilton still held off the championship leader.
Shawn Gilbert dirty air is only a thing through the corners, I think you mean a slipstream. The merc still has around 8bhp more than the Ferrari engine :(
Did you see the straight after the saftey car? slip stream and fresh ultrasoft tires! no power at all, merc engine is just way better, the only way for ferrari to win is a mrec fuck up
+ Alonso's car is too slow + Daniel Ricciardo has a good oppurtunity and grabs podium with a lucky situation + Very close battle at front between the 2 biggest rivals + No luck for Raikönnen + Clashing Force Indias + Alonso's engine dies + Verstappen engine issue + Boring race overall + Felipe Massa does well, but nobody notices + Sauber backmarkers Except for: - Torpedo from Kvyat into someone - Big carnage at turn one after the start - Palmer doing badly - Bottas doing well close behind Vettel and Hamilton - Clash betwween the Torro Rosso's.
@4:30 just gets me everytime, that battle flat out but the ferrari just couldnt get past in the end. Huge bals following that close through Eau Rouge.
Seriously speaking it's not fully Perez's fault . He just closed the door on ocon just like many drivers do but the stupid thing which ocon did was that he just went straight ahead and collided with perez leaving him and perez in danger . I am not defending perez but we have seen moves like this done before . Drivers regularly close the door and leave no room .
jerryl davis you're right, perez fault was not to close the door more quickly but ocon knew there were not space and he tried anyway. I think it was better that the crash were at the begining of the straight and not at the entry of eau rouge, knowing the rivality between both, incident could have be worse
jerryl davis No. Just no. It IS fully Perez' fault. Ocon was far enough alongside for Perez to give him space. The rules state he should have at that point.
