I spent the day hanging with my old man working on the R Nine T.
List of Tools needed:
Sockets - 11/16, 3/4, 18mm, and a 55T
Ratchet, Extension, grease, and a rubber mallet.
Torque wrench.

Hey would you know the torque setting for the top bolt, it doesn’t mention that specific one in the manual

I like the the look of these crash bars! I just wish they fit more snug to the bike but still allow easy access to the valve covers. I am worried that they will interfere with the lean angle of the bike.

they dont interfere with curving if you lean that much you'll touch the ground this bars protect better than the cheaper ones

@@jorgehq3181 ok perfect! Thank you for the clarification, I bought one of these two months ago and I’ve been looking for something high end to protect my bike because I’m a new rider and it seems that these crash bars don’t interfere with the dynamics of the motorcycle

Ciao !! do you have the tightening torque in nm of the main pin?

No Anti-seize? Steel bolts into aluminum case should have anti-seize applied to threads.

Hey thanks for the comment! You are correct, it’s been awhile since I did this install but looking back I believe it had a Helicoil insert which would be steel to steel but I could be wrong.

Does anyone have access to what the torque values should be for each fastener in this application? It’s difficult to find this information.

Dwight Kennedy hey, sorry I don’t. We used the good old fashion hand torque tester. Try sending an email to rizoma and I’m sure they will have some.

Nice!!! How the scrambler handles offroad? Compare with a 1200gsa? I ask 'cause man i love the old air/oil cooled boxer.

Peter blackburn it’s center mass is lower then the GSA and not as top heavy which helps a ton! The suspension though is only ok. I would recommend upgrading that if your considering any type of off road other then hard pack.

thanks for posting. I see you have also a winshield. are you happy with it? isn't it deflecting the wind to your helmet (thus creating more wind on the top of the head)?

Arnaud Burel Hey Thanks, it’s been awhile since I installed it but in my mind I believe it helped. I had to custom make the brackets as at the time they did not exist for the Scrambler only the standard R9T.

Thanks, I ordered it from Ebay by a company called Power Bronze. The one I installed was for a standard R Nine T which I had to modify the brackets to fit the Scrambler.

why didn't you protect the cylinder heads with some guards? if you drop the bike, they can still get damaged don't you think? beautiful bike!! I'm ordering a Pure

gus zam with the Rizoma guards they protect the Cylinders from low slides. If you manage to hit the cylinders you probably will be totaling the bike 😕. Congrats on the Pure, great design.
