I have an Admiral Blue 2017 C-7 Corvette Stingray Z51 with manual transmission. I've had it for a few years now, and I never get tired of it!!! I really love my car, best thing I ever did,was buying this car!! It's a beast, and a blast to own!!!
Thank you!! I also like the C2 and C4. I do also like the C3, but some of the newer C5 and some C6 Corvettes I don’t like quite as much. I’m glad you’re warming up to them though! Thank you so much for watching and commenting on the video 😄
Wow! Great review. I’ve been a car person most of my life and thought I knew everything about the corvette. I learned so much and will keep watching as I pick up more information each time I look at the video. I’m very proud of you James!
I believe. All the Dodge Charger/ Challenger / Jeep/srt's also have the package where they record performance data. This review was great James! Thanks for posting.✌✌👏
Good to know! Do you have any experience with those systems? I haven’t seen them before, it would be interesting to see how they compare... Thanks again Andy, I really appreciate it!
Excellent and well-presented review, not to mention a fascinating car despite not being a Cadillac! I really like the style of your videos, they are always entertaining and informative from beginning to end. Corvettes have always been special to me after discovering the C5 at a young age - they have so much character and such distinctive appearance, I am definitely planning on buying one some day. I think Chevrolet really nailed it with the C7 in every way, I especially like that they managed to stay so true to the Corvette heritage with the revival of the Stingray name and styling cues while still making the C7 feel contemporary and fresh. Terrific video, I'm really looking forward to watching the next. Keep up the good work, best wishes from Sweden!
Thank you so so much! It makes me so glad to hear that you like the videos and these cars. And I completely agree with you! The Corvettes are very special and this one was right on the money in just about every way. I really do appreciate your support and can't wait to see more of your videos as well. They are all the more informative, entertaining, and just fun to watch! Thanks again!!
Thank you! Congratulations on your purchase, I think you'll really love the C7 😁 And that's interesting the cylinder deactivation doesn't work well. Fortunately it only does that in the economy mode, correct?
Cant wait to get my C7 corvette. Few things, firstly the button to deactivate the alarm is for internal sensing. Say you go to a store, and you have the top down but dont want to put it bac kup. If the alarm is on, it will sound if anyone or anything triggers the motion sensors. But say you are at a car show, and you are showing off the interior, you can deactivate it so people can look. The cigarette lighter is for hooking up radar detectors or dash cams mostly, which is why they still have them installed in newer cars
First, Great review, I can't believe it doesn't have more views. Second, I wanted to clarify something, the stingray and convertible versions don't have active brake cooling ducts, that's only on the wide body cars, the Z06 and the ZR1. On the Z cars the rear brake cooling ducts are down at the bottom of the rear fenders just behind the door (tall and thin). In the front, they are little dedicated ducts on each end of the main grill. Those duct you pointed to, that are on the top of the rear fender are for other cooling needs. The passenger side vent is for rear differential cooling (it has it's own little radiator down in the fender), the same duct on the drivers side is for rear mounted transmission cooling (it too has it's own little radiator only this side also has a little fan in there too. The air goes threw those ducts, past the little radiators, then out the back vents located on each corner of the rear end facia. Look in there, you can see the coolers. And third, the reason there is a button to disable the alarm (by your left knee, next to the trunk release) is because the doors lock and the alarm activates automatically when the doors close, so if you're at say a tire shop and they need to jack up the car, you can avoid the embarrassment of having the alarm go off on the service tech as they are jacking up the car. Simply hit the button, the alarm stays off for the service, and automatically resets when the car is started. I use it here and there, I know the service techs over at the Chevy dealership I go to use it too, for the same reason. They can do what they need to do, with out having to deal with the alarm going off.
Thank you so much, Chris! Ah, I had no idea that those vents were to cool the rear differential and transmission, but that makes much more sense. I now remember that the higher end Corvettes have more air ducts, so I can see how those would be used for the brakes. And I didn't think about how useful the alarm disable switch would be when going to the mechanics. I really appreciate the corrections, I enjoy learning new things about the cars that I review 😁 Thanks again, Chris!
James, I'm still catching up on your videos! Just watched this one and really quick, you mentioned you were wondering why you would want to override the Inclination Alarm; its a very simple answer if you haven't already figured it out. You don't want your alarm going off if YOU intend to have it towed. Obviously you wouldn't drag the car behind a standard tow truck, but it will also be on an incline when being loaded on a flat bed! Another viewer mentioned a lapel mic and I agree. I have a separate channel for myself where I interview people with their cars at car shows and use a large, fuzzy, hand held for that. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. You do such a nice job! Wish I had you in Chicago to team up with!
I really appreciate you watching these videos, Ken! And that's a great reason for the button that overrides the inclination alarm, I believe another viewer mentioned that as well. Definitely not something that I would have realized haha. And I've actually been looking at lapel microphones and I'm planning on purchasing one for Christmas this year. I think it will make a world of a difference and it makes me very excited! That's really neat you interview people about their cars. What is your other channel name? I'd love to watch. Thank you for commenting and watching the video!
@@JW_Reviews ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FlIRijU7TKg.html I have another video to edit from early this summer, unfortunately, I lost my camera man Iggy for the rest of the summer. We're hoping to pick things back up next summer and bang out about a dozen videos. If Iggy can't commit, I may have to change things up. When we finish editing the new video, I'll send you a link to that one, too.
As for looks, I like all of them from the beginning up to about 1982. Didn't like the looks at all again until the C7 (2014). Really like the new C8 as well. My favorite though has got to be the C7. The C7 has just about perfect looks as far as I'm concerned.
Good video. I own a cammed C6 Z, supercharged running 660whp ( that was before I put the supercharger ), so I’m dyno running in April. I think I’ll push 720whp + . All my mods are in my about
I agree, it's been too long! I've been busy with school, but I'll be back in full swing hopefully with many more videos this summer 😁 Thank you so much for always being one of the first people to watch and comment on these videos, I really appreciate it, Andy!
Very good and thorough review. These fiberglass and carbon fiber cars are so low to the ground that a truck can run over top and crush the driver to death. A local 56 year old guy died from getting rear-ended by a FORD F150. A death trap on wheels. RIP... After 28 months, I sold my C6 Z06 and took a 10K loss to CARMAX. I will not DIE in that car regardless of the horsepower and fun...
Very nice! I do like the C4 Corvettes a lot. I'd love to get my hands on one someday to review! And the red ones with red interiors are my favorites. Would you recommend the C4 Corvette as a summer car? And do you prefer the 80's C4 compared to the 90's C4?
I have had this almost 5 years. Inside is all original but the radio. Have fixed a few things re repairs. I like the pop up headlights and long sleek front. Probably needs tightened up a bit but when the sun is out so am I.
What I am looking for to get a answer, for when the vette is park , going in Revers gear backing turn the steering wheel left or right the front end lock, hopped like a 4 wheel drive pickup, does anyone else have this problem , I have 2015 C7 Z51 3 LT , just put new Michelin sports on
