Just a video I made to put more content out for these new trucks for those that may be interested.
I hope you guys enjoy and I apologize for the terrible editing, it's not my thing.

I do believe that technically you could put the bigger chips from the cargos in the tail light spot but I don't know if they would clear the housing, not to mention be ludicrous looking.

thank you so much for making this video! I'm cross shopping a new L5P Duramax Chevy vs. GMC and these stock HID projector headlights on the GMC may just seal the deal.

Sure thing dude! I watched the original review of your truck at the dealership probably ten times. I noticed your comment on another video and had to check it out. All the stuff you did were things that should have been done anyways from the factory, extremely tasteful! Only other thing I would do is level the front end. I have a 2016 and I hate how the front end is a couple inches lower due to springs in the back.
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
Joshua Reese thank you again for the kind words. I agree, my LBZ before this was leveled with a stage 3 Kyptonite completely built front end. Everything from the redhead steering pump, weld in gussets, HD sway bars, tie rods...I will say one of the first things was check out the front end on this truck and compared to the LBZ, everything is bigger...and a factory lift pump..
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
Yeah man removing the front bumper valance really helped the front out. My 2007 LBZ has a full Stage 3 Kryptonite front end with UCAs, heavy duty sway bar end links, Kryptonite tie rods, centerlink, pitman and idler arm are braced with the weld in gusset, new factory bump stops, a Redhead steering pump and fox 2.0 shocks. Honestly if I were to lift the truck, I wouldn't compromise the ride with a leveling kit as you have to spend a lot of money to get it back to stock-ish and I'd just opt for something like the BDS 2-3 inch lift with coilover conversion. That setup will clear a 33x12.5 or 305/55r20 and leave you with perfectly flat CV angles and ditch the torsion bars all together

I been doing some research on upgrades for cleaner oil, with the 17 would you recommend an aftermarket oil separator or is the one the 17' has good enough? Thanks buddy

I hear the floor liners from GM are really good. Not the weather floor mats but the liners. Different products. The liners really cover the carpet area to the edges and are harder than weather tech.
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 6 лет назад
superdacoolman I’ve seen both firsthand and they’re both decent. I didn’t get that option because it conflicted with something else I can’t remember, maybe the underseat storage?
@superdacoolman
@superdacoolman 6 лет назад
I got the under seat storage. The liners didn't come in the package. If you wanted the liners and under seat storage and center console hard tray insert you had to purchase all items separately. Unfortunately besides the under seat storage the cargo convenience package left out the good stuff and provided the downgraded floor mats instead of liners and center counsel tote instead of tray.

Another great video, bro. Have you looked into the retro fit 360 camera system yet? Apparently it's completely plug and play.... Rostra 250-8450. Adds two mirror cameras, one grill camera and one bed/cab mounted camera. This will be a definite upgrade for my truck this spring.
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
I haven't heard of that, no, but damn I know I was super impressed with Ford's camera system (as were you). I'll check it out!

I just picked up my '17 2500HD and I added those cameras, it's amazing. You can turn them on any time, or when u use your turn signal that side comes on automatically. Great for both blind spot issue and driving trailers in tight spaces. I have three the two mirror and one "floater" I can put on as needed. I like the LED upgrades, I'll have to look into that. Thanks!

Thanks for the info...where did you go to have this done? Dealer has a different unit...not yet available for my truck (apparently). I have a W/T with the 7" screen upgrade...separate from the traditional 8" screen that the fancy trucks have. I pull a trailer ofter (business vehicle) and I have all kinds of blind spots...(8.5x20 enclosed trailer).

Mine was done by the dealer before they delivered it to me. www.gmc.com/gmc-life/trucks/trailering-enhancements-for-sierra.html

Sweet unit! I think that's the "Intellahual" unit...Rostra is slightly different. I'm definitely adding this to my truck. It will outperform my wife's new Cadillac Escalade's 360° camera system....which makes me happy..lol

damn how did you install the fogs.. I can't even get my hand in there. do you just twist the plug like on the older trucks.
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
I used a set of long needle nose channel locks and clamped the top and bottom of the bulb....after my hands were bloodied and mangled. Strong engineering GM lol

Dude nice job on the Emblem of u can email me exactly how u did I been trying to to this on my 1500 Denali but now I can't wait to do it on my new 2500 Denali Diesel Ima get next week u think it will look good on a Stone Blue Metallic one
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
Roberto Segovia there's a much easier method my friend. I actually ended up changing my emblems look. I went with carbon fiber pre-cut 3m overlays. www.etsy.com/shop/DeVriesSigns?ref=s2-header-shopname Check out some of the options there. I chose the non domed carbon fiber cut outs and they're awesome. Good luck and let me know what you get!

What website did you buy those high and low headlights from?
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 5 лет назад
Headlights are stock
@bodinsemrau1710
@bodinsemrau1710 6 лет назад
So are those headlights aftermarket? Or is it just your fog lights that are aftermarket?
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 5 лет назад
Bodin Semrau in this video I have stock headlights, and simple led bulbs in the fog housings. Currently I’m running custom painted half ton led headlights and morimoto XB fogs

Jeff Thompson Jeff I got the original bulbs in probably the same way you did. With a pile of different pliers and other crap, and hands that looked like I stuck them in a wolverine cage. It was truly the most annoying light install I've ever done. When I put the morimotos in I pulled the valance off (makes life so much easier, drove the truck up on ramps and it was a breeze.

I just got same truck stock lights suck! Need part #s for good aftermarket replacement headlight and fog light .
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 6 лет назад
Darren Gilbert I went with 1500 Denali headlights that I had opened up and colormatched black to match the truck paint and Morimoto XB foglights from The Retrofit Source. The 1500 LED headlights require a harness that can be purchased from a guy who goes by the handle Gen5DiY. Just google that name and his website should show up. The fogs are around $200 but the 1/2 ton headlights are going to run you $1500. The stock headlights are actually pretty solid man. Did you get the GMC with the HIDs?
@superdacoolman
@superdacoolman 6 лет назад
I am confused. I thought the headlights are stock GMC from factory HID projectors? You changed the stock projectors to LED? I know you changed the foglights to Morimoto pods but you didn't say you switched the headlights out.
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 6 лет назад
superdacoolman it was something I did almost 6 months after this video. The 1500 Denali lights just look so much better in my opinion. The HID stock lights are just fine, and it was more of an aesthetic switch. The output of both is pretty equal if you ask me
@superdacoolman
@superdacoolman 6 лет назад
Cool. Thanks for sharring your opinion. I'll probably end up leaving the HID and following your lead on the Morimoto LED Fogs.
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 6 лет назад
superdacoolman yeah and just so you’re aware, morimoto makes a projector called the FXR that’s basically a direct replacement for the factory one. You put a set of morimoto XB HIDs bulbs behind those and the quality, brightness, and crispness of the cut off would be 10x better than stock. Just a heads up for the future in case you want a better output so you know that even if you retain the stock housings, there’s plenty of options and room to grow using the stock headlights.

What do you mean "with the cutoff" on the morimottos? I just ordered a set of them, and the 17 Denali 1500 LED headlights as well! I've got the same truck but a 3500 Love it!
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
You bought a set of the Morimoto XB fog lights and a set of 2017 half ton LED fog lights?
@740iz06
@740iz06 7 лет назад
Dan Evan no the half ton headlights (Denali ultimate) with the [ around the headlights
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
740iz06 so you are going with LED projectors and the thin profile fog lights? The heavy duty trucks come with HID projectors now but halogen fogs which is why I replaced them. When I say cutoff, most fog lights and headlights (although this is more of a fog light issue as more and more vehicles are coming from the factory with projectors) do not have a projector housing. Even when they are LEDs the lighting is very diffuse and doesn't have that straight line cut off. Watch the latest video on my channel and you will see how the Morimoto XB fog lights have their own cutoff line similar to that of the low beam.
@740iz06
@740iz06 7 лет назад
Dan Evan I'm using the morimoto fog in place of the halogen and replacing the entire headlight assembly's with the led ones from the half ton www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/187569-2016-slt-lights-in-1415-sltall-terrain-almost-done/undefined Those headlights
@DanEvan
@DanEvan 7 лет назад
740iz06 did you get a chance to watch my other video? It's got a ton of visuals about the Morimotos. They're awesome and the fact that you're going to be using the headlights from a 1500 will just make them blend in that much better. You can adjust them up and down just like the headlights so even though they have a cutoff (which I really like and it puts the light where I want instead of just scattering) you will never notice that while driving because they blend in with the headlights so nicely. It's very close to being the perfect driving optic combination in my opinion. A Morimoto hid conversation with osram bulbs and doubled up Rigid D-series cubes would probably be the only thing better for this particular platform in terms of output...but I'll take the Morimotos for like $800 cheaper and no cutting or fabbing
