2018 Lincoln Navigator review from Family Wheels

Love your reviews with kids and luggage. About to move back to Canada from Asia and have been thinking between the current generation (about to be obsolete) GLS, the Expedition and this Navigator or a Pacifica and all of the reviews I saw had one guy talking and driving about the car. It's great your reviews visualised the wife and kids and luggage I wasn't sure if there were room for luggage in these with the third row up (except the Pacifica that has massive space regardless of seats up or down)

I'm afraid it's a bit on the cheap side for my disgustingly wealthy family 💰💰💰, if they had only charged me an extra 100k for no reason it'd be a done deal. 🤷‍♂️

I would like to see the 1 year review, My take on the rear entertainment is garbage. From the back buttons, to put down the second row seats. The seats fold automatically and smash into the the monitors. It would be nice if you could stop the 3rd row seats in halfway position to stop groceries from sliding around. Lets not forget the cam phasers and turbo issues. Mine were replaced at 12,000 miles. Oh gotta love the rattling sunroof. I dislike I paid 100,000 for a headache

I hope Ford pays attention to your review, for $100k vehicle to have less safety features that a Toyota Corolla, embarrassing. I could already see the leather driver seat stretching after your trip. I think you are right about way above average wear. Thanks for pointing out the positive AND negative, very helpful.

A base Navigator is only $4k more than the Expedition Platinum and essentially the same car with different styling. If you want an Expedition that is much cheaper, you have to drop features.

In regards to the rattle/bumping/cabin noise, 22 inch rims on a body on frame suv will cause that. Itd be interesting to see how base models perform with 19 or 20 inch wheels and thicker sidewall tires.

Lincoln is using the Navi as a flagship vehicle. I dont think they intend to sell many of these... not at 100k.

I understand that the Navigator has the same platform as the Expedition and this time Lincoln has done a great job to make each vehicle unique as it should because of the difference in price. But why do these reviewers always never mention the same issues between the Cadillac Escalade and the Chevy Tahoe or the GMC Denali. You don't have to be a self proclaimed expert reviewer that in many areas the difference in price between the Tahoe/Denali and the Escalade is as questionable as between the Expedition and the Navigator yet these reviewers rarely mention it. Its like these reviewers have some personal vendetta to destroy the Lincoln brand.

Another excellent review Paul. Just imagine how much money Ford makes by selling what is fundamentally a 25k F-150 for four times as much. As for longevity, look at any used Escalade or Navigator on the road. It's not pretty.

It would be very interesting to see you compare the Navigator to the upcoming unibody Aviator when it's available.

Lincoln needs to follow Genesis in offering Black Label standard and not nickel and dime your early supporters. They want to be different than the Germans but they charge you for every little thing just like the Germans. Maybe not so different after all. Beautiful in fully loaded trim but not impressive in lower trims. That navy interior leather is just gorgeous and rich looking.

If you go that big, you might as well go Expedition Max (the long version) or a Suburban. As for the luxury touches, in a vehicle like that, the possibility of damaging them would just bug me. I guess I have a utilitarian mind. Also, since I live in California, leather is a penalty, not a benefit (hot sun), so fancy leather is like a fancy penalty -- pointless. I much prefer sturdy fabric for upholstery. I wonder if in cold climate it wouldn't be the same?

The leather in my 02 lx470 is more supple and REAL... 100k and American cars give you shit pleather, looks like plastic vinyl!

They really screwed up the rear windshield wiper. Why didn't they hide it under the spoiler like the GMC Yukon... So much fail. Still no Apple carplay? Cmon man...

You should stop reviewing these ridiculously overpriced vehicles and put out some more practical content... "family wheels"
