The Outlander is sadly overlooked vs rivals like Rav4, CR-V, Forester, Tiguan, Escape and Equinox. Mitsubishi are pretty reliable, well equipped, and AWD system is above average.
@ddsindpls
@ddsindpls 6 лет назад
Forester has awesome AWD though. Hard to beat Subaru's AWD. We have 2 Subaru's but I was looking at the Outlander for it's 3rd row seat, and the fact that it's gong to be a lot cheaper than the upcoming Subaru Ascent.
@Trades46
@Trades46 6 лет назад
My father used to have a Legacy before he switched to the Outlander. Honestly Mitsubishi's AWD is not anywhere inferior to that of Subaru (the rally car wars between the Impreza STI & Lancer Evo should be noted). If you are planning to get a Mitsu, the higher-trim with S-AWC is the one to buy as it has active differentials & driver selected modes.

Trades46 i agree,and honestly im not surprse they have a good heritage of offroad racing. Mitsubishi dominated Dakar for a long time.

I am in the market for a small/midsized SUV, and this wasn't even on my radar. I am currently renting vehicles for my family road trips. I've recently driven a Rogue, an Escape, a Jeep, a RAV4, and this Outlander, all long trips. I drove the Mitsubishi for a week, bookended by 13 hour one way drives, and its a winner. From gas mileage to road noise, interior space/features/layout, seat comfort (I'm 6' 0", 280 lbs), passing slower traffic, it's everything I'm looking for. I should have one parked in my garage by the end of the month.

My toyota rav4 2013 with 70,000 km began to lose oil. Toyota company says that it is due to engine wear. They do not want to recognize the guarantee. I am very disappointed. My next car will be a mitsubishi outlander. (CHILE)

I bought this 2018 Outlander GT and I have ZERO regrets! This is a well over looked and honestly a hidden gem among all those that are either over rated (toyota) or just too popular just because it's a brand that saturated the world over (honda). With the SAWC I love seeing how good this is and I know they have nothing to lose with that warranty! I highly recommend getting this to more for your money! 3 rows of seats, 7 passengers, tow up to 3,500 pounds, AWD, and the 3.0 V6 engine...you can't go wrong!

I have a 2015 and I love it ! You will not find a better value in a SUV than this . I get 28-31 MPG at 65 Miles Per Hour on long trips . 100,000 mile warranty. sunroof , leather , 7 passenger seating , smooth quiet ride and if you work on your own car the engine is directly in the center of the chassis . Equal space all the way around . I gave $27,000 for mine , cant beat all you get here . I highly recommend it .

There are actually two recalls for my 2017 se. You should enter you VIN on their official site recall page. www.mitsubishicars.com/owners/service?q=recallinfo There should be one to reprogram the computer for the electronic brake. The other is for the backseat seatbelt. Good luck!

@@chadhaire1711 Yes, I'm not a fan of Nissan at all and feel that will undermine many of the good things Mitsubishi had going for it. I used to buy and sell a lot of the Montero Sports in the mid 2000's they were a great SUV and less than half the price of a 4 Runner at the dealer auctions.

We own a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2.4L GT 4X4 and could not be happier! We purchased it on 10/31/16 brand new. It was $32,940.00 and after Rebates and Discounts it was $26,700.00. Our GT was higher than most as it had the Optional Navigation Package, LED Interior Illumination Package (foot wells light up blue and has a cool round blue led light built into the tailgate), Upgraded LED Fog Lights to match the HID Headlights, Cargo Package, Remote Engine Start, Park Assist Package, Chrome Package, Sport Package with Larger Rear Spoiler and Steel Fuel Door, Mud Guards, Rear Silver Bumper Under Cover, Color Keyed Bodyside Moldings, Scuff Plates, Window Rain Guards, more!!! We searched far and wide to find one with all the options and accessories vs a GT with no options for $27,000.00. We also added Mitsubishi License Plate Frames and Mitsubishi Valve Stem Caps. It drives like a true SUV and sits high and does not feel like a wagon or hatchback (Honda HR-V) when you drive it. The ride is surprisingly good and handling is confident and we are getting around 28 mpg combined driving. You cant find a new SUV with all these Features, Capabilities, Safety, and Warranty for $27,000.00 loaded with everything. The Panoramic Roof and 710 Watt Rockford Fosgate Audio is amazing sounding. The Outlander brothers are 2 amazing SUVs that do great in the snow and light off road and are overlooked to often and people really miss out on a reliable SUV with tons of features, lower price than any competitors with huge rebates and dealer discounts and a long warranty! Plus owners love their Mitsubishis! The remote start keyfob is really neat and digital and you can adjust it to run from 10 mins up to 30 mins and it lights up. The push start with keyless access on front doors and tailgate is so convenient. Also when sitting in the rear it has theater style seating so you sit above the front passengers and I read on Mitsubishis news page that helps prevent rear passengers from getting car sick. Also with the huge panoramic roof its like sitting in a car w/ova roof lol. It does not open which prefer because I always use AC. Now at night time it is lined with orange led mood lighting all around it and can be adjusted to 3 different levels, it makes this car unique and looking thru it at night is amazing. The rockford fosgate audio is unreal and has so many settings to get it just to your liking and wow can it kick! We looked at quiet a few SUVs but the ones we drove were the Buick Encore, Toyota Rav-4, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Tuscon and Kia Sportage. They were all nice Vehicles but in top trims loaded with the features we wanted they pushed upper 30K range ($36K - $40K), way to expensive. The HR-V however for the top trim was amazingly priced but it felt like a hatchback and not an SUV and the styling is very borning. In the end it came down to the Outlander Sport or the Encore. We chose this because of its styling, warranty, price, features, proven reliability record, safety, owner satisfaction, added accessories, 3 mode selectible 4x4 and not just AWD, and that it drove like a true SUV and not a car based type SUV. It sits high and has that SUV feeling to it. Sure the Encore rode smoother but we liked the Outlander Sport better than all the others as it gave everything we wanted at a much better price and with a long warranty. Even if others could have undercut the price we still would have chose the Outlander Sport GT as Mitsubishi’s are very reliable. The 2.4L 168 hrsp engine is really peppy and if you floor it it pushes you back in you seat a lil lol. Its not a race car but has plenty of power for me! When you put it in 4x4 lock you can really feel all 4 wheels gripping the ground. These 18 inch wheels are sharp and really add to its looks! We also owned a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage and traded it on the newly updated 2017 Mirage G4 SE and wow! I absolutely loved my 2015 Mirage ES CVT with Navigation. I loved it so much in fact when I saw the 2017 versions released we traded it and went with a 2017 Mirage G4 SE in the all new Wine Red Exterior and Light Gray Interior! My car stickered for $18,115.00 and I got it for $12,714.00 with rebates and dealer discounts. I was first going to get a Mystic Black 2017 Mirage GT but in the end decided on the Mirage G4 SE. Now mind you that is the top trim model fully loaded for $12,714.00! They had base model CVT Mirage and Mirage G4s for under $11,000.00 at Renn Kirby Mitsubishi I saw on the lot! On top of that you get bluetooth, pw, pl, pm, keyless entry, keyless access, entry buttons on the driver door and trunk, cruise, steering wheel audio controls, auto climate control, ac, push button start, auto up down drivers window, apple car play and android auto, am/fm/cd/mp3/usb/bluetooth, back up camera, outside temperature display, fold down rear seat arm rest with cup holders, semi high contrast gauge cluster, outside temp display, 15 inch dark titanium alloy wheels, spare tire (many new expensive cars do not), height adjustable driver seat, speed sensitve windshield wipers, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, massive rear seat with oodles of legroom in the G4, fog lights, and so much more! Beat that Nissan Versa and Chevy Spark. If you want a reliable new car loaded with features, has a long warranty and huge discounts then go get a Mirage or Mirage G4. When you watch reviews and people bit h about the Mirages price being to high always remember you are never going to pay that there are always rebates and dealer discounts ranging between $2,000.00 and $5,000.00 depending on the dealer and mitsubishi rebate. It is the only car I will own now and this is my 8th new car before someone says it must be my first car and thats why I think it is a good car. I have owned a new 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, 2013 Hyundai Elantra, 2010 Kia Soul, 2008 Hyundai Sonata, 2005 Chevy Cavalier, 2003 Hyundai Accent, 2002 Kia Rio. All of those were bought new as my 2017 Mirage G4 SE was and I owned 3 used cars before those. The Mirage and Mirage G4 are such neat little charismatic cars. Its so fun to rev up the 78 horsepower 3 cylinder engine and still get awsome mpg. They ride so smooth in town and on the highway. Dont listen to the negative critic reviews look at owner reviews because the owners love them So I say if you are thinking about a Mitsubishi go for it. The new Outlander Sport is a true feeling SUV with selectable 4X4 with a button (2WD, Auto 4X4, 4X4 Lock) and loaded with features, safety and an amazing warranty! My coworker has had her Mirage 3 years and not a single problem and she will be buying another one in a year as its the only car she will buy now. Go for it and drive a Mitsubishi and you will want one lol. For 2018 they made several styling updates to the Outlander Sport and trim line and packaging changes. Plus restyled the interior center console, added all new infotainment systems that are really up to date, added sound insulation and more! So now their value equation is even better and they supply top notch reliability for many many years of trouble free motoring.

I live in Dallas Texas and went to Rusty Wallace Volkswagen and found this exact same year and color yesterday and I'm trading my current car in for it. I got a good deal flawless carfax report one previous owner, and just over 34,000 miles on the odometer. It still has a year and a half left on the Mitsubishi warranty and in addition I purchased the extended warranty with gap insurance. I'll pick it up in about a day or two, once they go through it and get it ready for inspection. I did test drive it yesterday and I noticed in my particular model which I believe is 162 horsepower, and with the CVT transmission not much power at all but that's okay because I know cvts were built for fuel economy not power. In my current car which is the 2016 Toyota Scion I am it has a CVT transmission. Great video thank you for uploading it.

We test drove several cars, including the Rav4, CRV, Escape, etc. Spent 5 months looking. I LOVE my Mitsu. Have over 180K miles on it. Changing the Front Shocks this weekend. I have kept regular maintenance over the years and have never had a problem with it. We looked at replacing it with 2017, and also test drove the '18, but honestly, this car is STILL running strong. My only complaint, the stereo Head Unit. System sounds great, but the CD Scanning and Shuffle could be better. Just being picky.

I get 27 city/32 hwy mpg and I used Mobile One synthetic oil. 10 yr/100,000 miles power train warranty with a standard 5 yr/60,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty. Dealers wheel and deal and certified used ones are a great bargain. Not too fancy like other brands, but save $10k and get Mitsubishi. My 4wd/AWD system absolutely conquers nasty Ohio winters!

We've had a 2015 Outlander since new. They really are an underrated gem. Japanese build quality is still among the best and our rig is now at 50k miles with no issues what so ever. Mitsu's all wheel drive system is as good if not better than any of the competitions. I am a Honda fanatic and probably would have gone with a CRV but we really need the 3rd row. The Pilot is too big and too much $$. The Outlander is the perfect size and the price is right with deep discounts not to mention the outstanding warranty. Only down size is the depreciation.

The wife and I test drove one just the other day, seriously considering buying one. A little leery of the lowish JD Power Rating for Mitsubishi, but they gave Subaru a lowish rating, too. Go figure.
@chadhaire1711
@chadhaire1711 6 лет назад
JD POWER is a joke..they only rate first 90 days of ownership....doesn't mean crap 2 years after you buy it. Reliability of this rig has been far above average. Consumer reports, who also hates this Mitsubishi even admitted the reliability. Yes this is an outdated platform but it has its good points...7 seats and 10 year warranty.

@@chadhaire1711 Well you can own a gun but not necessarily the type you fancy, but you cannot transfer a gun culture to a country that does not have one like yours, if we allowed it even you would say "Holy Shit, and they say we got a gun problem" every night would be a bloodbath. Kids [18 plus would say "Whoopee do, look what I got'" and then the "fun" would start. You do have one arse up law in your country courtesy of the pilgrim fathers, you cannot imbibe alcohol until you are 21, but you can buy a gun at 18???, you should reverse this, the kid that is nice to his grandmother, never kicks the cat, just might turn out to be a raging Psychopath when he gets a skin full, let him have booze for 3 years THEN you will have a better idea as to whether he should be allowed a gun.Cheers, Nice to see you lookin' after that moggie.

CVT is not for sporty driving. It is for ordinary day to day driving. And that, it does very good and economical. Never exceed 2500 rpm and you are good to go with a CVT.
@chadhaire1711
@chadhaire1711 6 лет назад
Never exceed 2500 rpm?...easy to do if you never leave the driveway....on the road CVT sucks.....and so called fuel economy savings do not pan out in the real world......this vehicle needs a real gearbox like a 6-speed but that isn't going to happen...so CVT it is.

Thanks for the review, Chad. I've been wondering about the Outlander. I deliver the mail and there are several Mitsubishi's on my route. All Outlander's or Outlander Sports. One house has 2 of them. I've been wanting to ask them what they think about them. We have a Subaru Forester which we absolutely love, and I drive an Impreza to work. However we have a family of 5 which is pretty crowded in a Forester. Subaru's new 7/8 passenger vehicle - the Ascent - is coming out soon but it starts at $31,000. I'm looking at this as a possible alternative since I can get a loaded Outlander for $31,000. Thanks again.

i'm on my second mitsubishi....both outlanders (2016 and 2017) Horrible build quality. 4 months into owning it , the ABS module started leaking lots of brake fluid....destroyed all the paint in engine bay and subframe. Mitsubishi said too bad. Now , brand new car with exposed sheet metal ...will rust in a year. Lots of other issues with the car also. side view mirror cracked in half while driving on highway...never seen something like that in my life...nobody believes me...including the dealer. Interior squeaks and rattles after few months of fine pavement driving. I wanted something different than the usual honda and toyota....big costly mistake on my part. also, their dealerships are 3rd world...1 mechanic, 1 service rep..etc.....mom/pop feel when you deal with them. i live in fort lauderdale , so lots of dealers around....all with the same feel....subpar. Good news is they never feel crowded...show rooms are ghost towns. For what you get , their pricing should be way under the competition....by a 1/4 , just to stay in business. Both my cars averaged 15 mpg combined ....for a small suv ( i gave mitsu a shot because of long financing deals they had....6 years at 0 apr....wasn't worth it.
@chadhaire1711
@chadhaire1711 6 лет назад
I dont believe you...the first outlander was so bad you bought another? Show us the documentation.of all these problems.......
@igheng
@igheng 6 лет назад
traded it in for the 17 so i could get the adaptive cruise control, blind spot, 360 camera...etc. only mitsu would let me trade it in for another mitsu and not loose a ton on depreciation....lost $4k on depreciation (1.5 y/o car ) ...they baked it into the price of the new one. everything i mentioned above is true...not an once of exaggeration...i wish it wasn't because it's created lots of misery in my life. as i write this , i just came from the dealership after picking up the car for the brake issue. i can't even confirm issue was fixed as they didn't even clean the area of brake fluid. i took a napkin and dabbed it under the abs and it was still full of fluid....hope is from the leak before. they prob used a dirty rag to wipe some fluid off.....that took all paint way ....abs module mounting bracket is completely stripped of paint ....paint on the frame all bubbled up all the way down to the subframe....and subframe paint (black paint) all destroyed. I got lots of pics. The service coordinator was like" well , at least you don't live up north, so you don't have to worry about rust". at least the brake pedal feel is firmer now...maybe i had some air in the system before
