I’d be right there with y’all if they didn’t completely abandon the console players. They ain’t getting my money after leaving us high and dry like that.
There are plenty of other tournaments actually, they're just not hosted by Pokemon company. The pokemon company tournaments are only about 3 a year in US, the NA nationals, last chance qualifier at World's and then the World's final bracket consisting of the players that qualified around the world.
Although I’m older now and don’t play Pokémon like I used to when I was younger, I always wanted to see a 3D game like Pokken, where you could battle. Nice to see Pokémon still lives on!
While I like VGC more, this is far more entertaining to watch. Not only the game play and commentary, but just the reactions from the players and crowd. In TCG and VGC everyone is very stone-faced and everything's more slow-paced. It's just nice seeing all that emotion.
oblivionslefthand If you like what you see there is the whole fighting game community with massive crowds and exciting moments, although not all of them have Pokémon in it (Super Smash Bros does tho 😃). If you’re wanting to watch more you can easily find them on streaming sights like Twitch.
This set was insanity. I was really hyped to see Rokso pull out his Gengar. TS played so well and showed such stamina playing 3 players in a row, getting the bracket reset, and taking the whole thing. Awesome stuff.
I’m glad to see this game finally getting some time in the spotlight, this game I feel is really underrated and idk why it’s so fun and such an amazing game, it definitely deserves more attention
The competitive community is all centered around the Pokkenarena website (for people posting resources and guides), and it's associated discord (for discussion), so if you want to get into the game that's the best place to go. That being said, you will need the switch version, as that's what everyone uses. But If you only have a WiiU you could probably at least learn the original set of characters unttill you can geta switch, but there's beeen a ton of changes in the swittch version
The fact he pulled out 2 perfects back to back in a competitive fighting games tournament makes me think that his super cringey moment might have some merit lol
Dizzle Shizzle well we're getting a new balance patch on the 11th this month so they're still supporting this game at least. Odds are we'll hear about a new character at World's or some random day.
You did great guys, I was rooting for Rokso because Garchomp represent, but it was impressive fighting all the way around. Might have learned a thing or two for my own battles as well lol.
This game needs about 30 more Pokemon to select at least. Choices like heracross, dragonite and even all starters( this isn't smash, so Pokemon like meganium and serperior could work
Spiritwyrm k The thing is that designing the characters for this game is not that easy without breaking balance. The last two characters turned out to be really extreme (Aegislash being almost broken and Blastoise being pretty bad). And over that, every character does it's own thing, so making a new character that doesn't overshadow another of the same archetype ( say 2 rush down characters).
This isn't like the Dragon Ball or Naruto games where they can just add 50 characters, each character has a completely unique playstyle and movelist witth dozens of moves, and they need to be balanced for competiitive play. Compared to other competitve fighters, Pokken has a pretty decent amount of characters.
If you ask me, there is enough diversity. This is the kinda game where you really should choose one or two Pokemon to get really good with. Seems to me you want it to become more like smash by adding so many characters. Keep in mind it’s a relatively new fighting game, so they need to start out small and build up over time.
There's enough diversity as it is, already. The only thing we really want for the roster is a Normal type and a Rock Type, so we have every typing available as a fighter.
This is literally wat we to c in Pokemon games. Pokemon Go is real life Pokemon world then there battle system should b somewhat like this then am 1000% sure that every Pokemon fan will start playing this game . Not just Pokemon fans, every intense battle lover will come and b active in this game.
These guys were really good sports the entire time, even the one who loss. Took it like a champ! After seeing all the salt that's in Smash, its good to see that we can still have fun in a game.
Swaggy G ye I looked in to it and realised that but imagine if the battles were like this in og Pokemon games it would really mix up the gameplay when doing gym battles and stuff
hectorjr96 there's a decent amount of FGC majors Pokken appears at. If you want to know more you should reach out to Burnside on twitter and check Pokken Arena, they have a calender showing locals and majors happening in the upcoming months.
Sceptile player deserved this so much! That Garchomp player was super cocky using Gengar in the beginning. Underestimating his opponent, he got the embarrassing defeat he deserved.
