I have owned my 2018 Legacy 3.6R for 8 months now. It's a great car folks! So sorry that everyone and their grandmother is driving SUV's now. Sedans and coupes drive so much better. I love this Subaru!
I picked up the Limited 3.6r, I love it. I traded in my 2013 Legacy for the 2018, the new one is so much better. Smoother ride, much better interior, way better safety systems, just overall much better. I was looking at changing to a different car brand, and tested out the 2018 - it was so much nicer than my 2013, I couldn't really justify spending a lot more money for the other brands I was looking at. Nice to see some 3.6r reviews!
Thank you for reviewing a 3.6R Legacy. Not many of these reviews are on RU-vid. I'm getting sick and tired of all the 2.5i Legacy reviews flooding RU-vid.
I dont think the 3.6R gets enough love. It's a great car. I'm a proud owner of a 2013 3.6R Limited and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. The only thing I'm not in love with is the CVT, but other than that I'd choose the 3.6R over the 2.5i all day. More power, more smiles.
thanks , I got a legacy 2017 3.6r and the only thing disappoint me a little is the gas consumption, which is pretty high as today standards and the audio system quality , it takes time to get use to it . thanks
I think many of us loyal Subaru owners agree with you on the gas mileage issue. This 3.6 Legacy seems to get just slightly better gas mileage than my '16 Mustang 5.0.
Ben Hardy yes HK system , for some reason it is not that good at least to my taste , BOSE has a richer bass sound that I enjoy more . Great car all around
I love the Legacy but I don’t understand why they’d put the CVT in the 3.6R. I’ve driven it and the CVT is disappointing. The “sporty” feel you’d think the 3.6R would be giving you just isn’t there. Might as well get the four and save on gas or buy a old Acura TL.
I agree. It's disappointing as the new Subaru 3.6R is great, but terrible transmission. But a 2004-2008 TL is fantastic and fun to drive, but just has the older technology. I wouldn't compare a 2012-2014 TL to a Legacy. So, it's a good thing - I guess. haha
Antonio Valdez I owned a 2006 Acura TL and the two cars are very comparable. The only difference is the Subaru has the AWD which that generation TL didn’t offer. However, the TL was manual or auto and was much better then a CVT. They are comparable regarding the features, ride quality. However I wouldn’t compare a 2006 TL to a 06 Legacy. Or 2013 TL to a ‘13 Legacy.
I have a 2012 Legacy 3.6R and that is a sport sedan compared to this new version. My dealer has one as loaner car and I drove it twice when my car was in the shop. It has the same engine as mine but it ao slow to accelorate, it feels like a 4 cylinder. CVT transmission takes away all the fun. Othwr than that the cars is largw and comdortable and comes with tons of extra features.
I bought a new 2016 for my wife two years ago. I love the 3.6 liter engine and the 4WD.. I HATE the road noise...HORRIBLE! The suspension in the city REALLY sucks too. I cannot believe the Subaru engineers designed it like that.....it just boggles my mind!
No Subaru cars come with remote starts (except the 50th anniversary edition, it seems). remote start has always been a $500 extra for Subaru, and it still is, aside from this 50th.
You don't have to anymore. They release the engines ready to be driven hard. People still play it safe and wait 500 miles, but it doesn't matter anymore.
Subaru. Take that 3.6, fatten up those cylinder walls. Make it a 3.2 and TURBOCHARGE THAT BITCH! Then put it in a forester cause I like them more. Do it for me. Please. I said please.
