Boy, its sure been some time folks! Update in the beginning of the video that'll bring everyone up to speed. Aside from that, been focused on buying property and growing my business.
Such enjoyable videos you produce. Thank you. Not only are they entertaining, but you've helped me these past years keep my Gravely LI running. Have a terrific 2020.
Your welcome and thanks! Glad you commented too, I remember you from years past. Specifically your video "Autumn arrival at Twin Pinons". Beautiful country where you have that spot of land, really like that timber frame stuff you're building also!
Jake, my Dad, who played the steel and Dobro, would have sit down and joined you. He never learned to read music, but, he had the ear to be reckoned with...after listening a bit, he could grasp the tune...ans blend right in. On the second play, he memorized the song, and was ready to go. He would have loved to sit in.
@@5Tractorguy He was good, too. He died from a massive heart attack in April, 1994. Cigarettes killed him. But, people born in the 30s, 40s, 50s...EVERYBODY smoked. Did you know Louis B Mayer..MGM, forced Judy Garland to smoke 80 cigarettes a day to curb her appetite....and drugs...he all but killed her.
So, you're back ! Good to see what's been going on in your life,..I enjoyed these clips from the past as well as some fo the 'jammin' too,... Like always I'll be here for the next installment too.
PROUD of you, Buddy! I like the BIG V-6 (I saw the compressor) and everything else is just right. Here is like there in wanting no businesses. MORONS! But you'll find just exactly where you need to be! And good with the horsees but take care of the pickers. Sounded REALLY good! I still want a DVD! WE had horsees but I'm diesel powered so there were/are too many rigs with minds of their own without hair! Take care, Pal and don't worry about the videos. God willing we'll still be here.
Thanks Lewie! Beyond me why no one wants to let business in, you figure they would want people drawn to their town... to spend money too! Oh we laid it down last night at our gig, and intend to do so again this afternoon. Should be a good group gathering for some bluegrass picking and a-singin'.
@@5Tractorguy Melt the head off that 5 with my blessing and here in the hills, everything is about tourism. Bunch of morons. GOPHER It Jake! You're on the downhill slide!
I was warned a long time ago to never use a D250 for any heavy pulling or pushing. The catastrophic damage you saw was the reason that was explained to me. Also, glad to see another video and update.
From what I was told by the owner, the previous owner used to plow a lot of snow and whatnot with it. So that sums up the reason for the busted differential....
Nice video buddy always look forward to your outtake videos. It was awesome to have you join us at plow day this past year even though we ended up just hanging out at the shop the first day cause of rain. Hopefully you can make it down again for this coming plow day!
'Preciate it! I really enjoyed going down there for the weekend and hanging out with you all. Was a ton of fun... Definitely looking forward to this April again for sure!
In the old days as work would build up they would just have another child...buy another 40 acres...Things have changed now tho . Hang in there buddy and remember...never give up your dreams .
Hi there Jake you're alive LOL like the update video can't wait to see you doing some Bluegrass videos banjo guitar Etc see something very familiar in your video can't wait to see the it run video of in the future videos yes living in mass is so great on trying to get the business started especially any kind of Repair automotive truck repair Etc they just don't want us all I want to do is make an honest living and they say no don't get it I thought they just want their taxes but good luck my friend and keep pushing forward you will win and come on up top thanks for the updated video
Yep! I'm still kickin! Been chomping at the bit to get that V6 fired up. Every chance I got to tinker on it, time would run short. Yeah good ol MA haha. Though I thought of moving to southern NH a lot of that has been spoiled by the MA people moving over the boarder unfortunately. I'll find a good place to land though even if it is here. Want to stay somewhat central to New England so I don't loose my CT and RI customers.
Great to see ya Jake and a great video also, hope you fine the shop or building you need, maybe 2020 it will happen, thanks for the video and we will see ya on the next one.
Good to see another video! Congrats on 10 years! Hope everything goes well with finding a property and that there will be some more videos this year! Just curious, would you ever consider doing a video of you tractor/small engine collection at some point? Keep up the great work!
Thanks Colin! Yep, I would... I filmed one beginning of last year or end of '18. But it was more so 30min of me wandering about with the camera rambling on about stuff. If I can get a video filmed of the collection that's more organized I will upload one.
Hey Jake , try north west mass for property. Zoning isn't too bad and you have access to Vt. , Ma. , and NY . You don't need a 1 ton truck for service. My 2002 Tundra is still going and with a trailer you are all set. I wish you all the success in the world. The old timers like me are dropping out very fast now. God Bless and keep the old stuff running and the history alive . Russ
Hey Russ, I've been looking between and around Rutland MA to Hardwick MA (if you're familiar with the area). Would like to fall somewhere in there. West of the Quabbin Reservoir and western MA is nice country, but it's a ways out there. Probably do alright with business with all the farms out that way. Likewise Russ... as long as I'm here, the old stuff will continue to run!
@@5Tractorguy I will keep my eyes open when traveling through Ma. and if I see something interesting , Ill let you know. Take your time and pick the right location.
Its a damn shame so many places are "anti business". That seems to be an issue in the northeast. I wish you luck. Mobile repair is a good thing. Did you end up getting married? You are a decent, hard working man....a good catch,,,as long as the girl can see it through the dumb shit. Music is a lifelong love affair...it sure was for my Dad.
It is... You would think towns would be happy to let you operate because they can collect the business tax and have people coming into town for said services. Thanks, everyone's been telling me I'll never have time for the shop once the word gets out about on-site repair, we'll see! Negetory on married. Still keeping an eye out for a girl who doesn't mind all this equipment 'n stuff. They're out there! Just a bit more scarce around these parts...
@@5Tractorguy Don't do it till you know in your heart it is right. Great sex is not a reason to marry. You can get that from almost anybody....the support, respect, and ability to forgive the little things is much more important than other things. But, you're not 17, you know the difference.
19:28 Jake I live in Northern Saskatchewan about 9-10 hours due North of Billings MT and NOTHING makes winter worth while. lol (often -40f and routinely -30f)
Just looked at the map.... you're up there Billy! My thoughts about winter have changes some since this video haha. Figured once I get a real garage to work out of I'll enjoy the snow again.
I hear ya land of free but only if they allow you to do it lol. Maybe what you need to buy or look at is like an old warehouse or something. Lots of covered commercial space anyhow. In town so who knows. Kinda have to run across it forsale. Ever run across something and want an extra hand moveing. I'll take a week end and bring red and the tandem north for a weekend and help. Been looking for an excuse go north. Haven't been up that way since I was 2 lol
You said it! There's a few old brick warehouse buildings in the area. One of them is 2-3 stories and huge, and for short money too. But it needs a bunch of work. Heating it in the winter would be impossible unless it was revamped haha. Cool! If we need an extra hand that's good to know, there's so much stuff here. Figured if I can just move the vital stuff for the shop, every time I come home, bring a truck load of stuff back with me.
My thought on that would be use most as storage and build ok make large enough shop area, but small enough you could afford to heat it in the winter. Don't need to heat the whole thing is what im saying. Other thing is see what the taxes are on it. Don't want a huge sticker shock when it comes in the mail. And can't afford. Figured I'd throw it out there if you needed a hand, I know moveinmg stuff is quite interesting sometimes
Thanks Eric. Old service station would be great, garage, usable barn, steel building, etc. Thing is I want a minimum of 3-4 acres with the shop, and land (any size really) with a building on it around here is tall money. More affordable for me to buy the raw land and put up a nice steel building to fit my needs.
I've thought about getting out of New England Adam (Indiana does sound good! Especially if you have reasonably priced land, something that's non-existant here). I don't mind it here too much really, but I sure am an odd duck in these parts!
Yep! Found a good lot of transmission gears on Ebay and swapped everything out. It's back in the tractor, just have to finish hooking stuff up and give it a whirl.
Need some parts for Onan engines. Carbs, points, condincer, andcoiks . Wished you were here in South Carolina. Some the tractors you are working on I never heard of . What type of truck d on you have ?
Looks up Boomers Onan Parts online, that seems to be the best/most reasonably priced place for parts. Truck? All mine are either GMC or Chevy, square body 73-87 and a couple 60-66.
good lord me and you are almost twins. i run a small engine repair business out of my property, we specialize in mobile mower repair. i have several old garden tractors of my own. i use a 1979 gmc as a backup for the business. i have a newer 3/4 ton service truck. i turn 30 this year lol. check me out on facebook if you have the time. Stouffer's Mobile Mower Repair in Pennsylvania, i have been a fan of yours since the start, keep the videos coming !
Hey Corey! Go figure, checked your page out of FB, nice operation you got going down there. Hey, someones gotta keep all this equipment going so it mind as well be us... Glad to have you here!
