Perfect update info there!! Seeing the bike doing what’s designed to do is priceless!! Dunno why ppl bother uploading videos on the 200 flat out on MX tracks 🤷♂️🤷♂️ .It was never intended for that kinda of thing Thanks very much! PS: Green hell really looks bad ass, on your way up we can see the other guys stuck left, right and centre... 😂😂🤣🤣🔥🔥✊🏼✊🏼
We made the trail over the winter and then in the spring conditions nobody could make it up without pushing (that's how it got it's name). It's been dry lately so it's traction is very good, but it always claims some victims!
Nobody makes one for the 200 yet so I made that one and used automotive "GOOP" to hold it on. The 200 has the clutch slave built into the cover so you really don't want to put a hole in it!
Nice videos, really informative. I’m riding an 03 KDX220 and really like it but getting older and just can’t seem to kick it a bunch after going down (bad hip). This looks like a great replacement for me. How’s the stock suspension, good enough for a C rider? How does it compare to a KDX stock suspension. Thanks
My very first new bike was a 1998 KDX220, and it was a fantastic bike to learn on and was almost like riding a sofa it was so comfortable to learn on. the Beta 200 is a much more race oriented machine than beginners bike. That doesn't mean it can't be ridden by a C rider at all, The suspension is plenty soft but not too soft which is what I would call the KDX suspension. I think the X trainer is more like the KDX in power delivery and suspension.
I’m sure Drew was at our 1992 ISDE in Australia. I rode an RMX250 there. (Like half the field). Rodney Smith was super fast that ride. How heavy are you by the way?
PrimalEnduro I know Hawkins was too. Steve Hatch was on one, so was Tom the dirt rider magazine bloke. Jimmy Lewis on a kx125 freddette on the 200. Awesome event dominated by the Italians of course. It was after that ISDE I went out and bought a TM125 after being amazed watching the euro blokes screaming around on the full size 80’s. Such a shame they dropped that class.
Im trying to decide between a 200 or 300. I ride similar terrain on a yz250x. Which one do you like better? The 200 or 300? Will the 200 tire you out more?
I ain't done nothing to mine except put guards on. 18 hours in and about ready to tack on several more up in Michigan. I think I made the right decision.
@@PrimalEnduro same. I checked the float and it looked level, but it still pissed out the overflow too easily. And I don't know jetting very well. Still love it though. Looks good in 3rd person video too, very sharp looking design.
@@PrimalEnduro WELL DONE VID...IMO when I except delivery this December of my 2020 200 RR, I plan on removing the IO and experimenting with the mixture...I would think it would be far more consistent then the mechanical IO...which I do not have alot of confidence in from day one.
I'm a total beginner to dirt bikes. And looking at this as my first bike. Can anyone say yay or nay whether it would be good for a learner. P.s I'm also interested in the 390 4t beta. Cheers.
Also don't rule out the X-Trainer some say's only a beginners bike, but it's actually quite capable as long as you don't intend to use it for racing. The 390 is a very nice thumper with smooth power, much like the old ktm 400 but a bit heavier for a beginner.
Mojo_Nesar 8 I’ve been on my Xtrainer for two years. Did a fork swap and a few other mods. Great bike! I just recently did a Beta Demo Day, now I’m torn between the 200 and the 350 Race Edition. Xtrainer has great low end power, but signs off quickly up top.
@@Pint76 As you know the 200 and 350 are two totally different machines. It depends what you are using it for really. the KYB will surely be a preference for most. I don't understand why they are not doing the 200 in a race edition. I happen to have KYB forks on mine already so you might say I have a 200 RR RE. That being said, the sachs open chambers can be made to work quite well and if you really like the 200 power don't let that stand in your way. I always say buy the bike with the best foundation/motor/chassis everything else can be changed.
PrimalEnduro I had this itch for a 4 stroke after riding my buddy’s 250xcf. But I love Beta, so I wanted to try the 350 Race. Honestly it kinda wore me out in the tight stuff. Ofcourse the 200 felt amazing even though I couldn’t touch the ground. Those KYBs were amazing though. I wouldn’t mind trying the 250 Race. I put Marzocchi 45mm on my Xtrainer, had them shortened 30mm by Kessler. Totally different bike now.
Cool vid. I ride similar tight, rocky terrain in PA with stock gearing. Almost never in 1st gear, however I do slip the hell out of the clutch on the climbs.
@@wildone2163 I've only heard on the problems on the internet. All of my buddies with Beta's have not had any issue with the main bearings so I don't think it was a wide spread problem.
@@wildone2163 very very few cases of crank (main) bearing failures. This was just bearings not being pressed into the cases all the way. It was a small batch assembly mistake. And no I don't work for Beta. Just researched the matter
@@wildone2163 The crank bearing issue was isolated to the 250/300 line. The 200 doesn't share the bottom end (or any part actually) with the bigger bikes.
