Snow checked day 1. Lime squeeze. #alpinemotorsports. I've only heard rave reviews so far from people actually riding the 850...entz burandt and clients. With a 4 year warranty, can't really go wrong imo. I talked to SLP day 2, on list for pipe and can, they are on it. Is it November yet? Thanks for the great videos, you're take and thoroughness is right on. Derrick

Derrick Neikam I appreciate that Derrick! Trying my best to provide good quality content and unbiased point of view wherever I can! I will be going with straight line performance full pipe can and clutching once they release theirs 🤘🏼 ordering an all black 163 to act as background for the wrap.

Will Polaris honor a 4 year warrant if you place a SLP pipe on it?

Colin McEvoy It's a big change for me (coming from a 09 600 IQ) and much of my riding is on trail but their are spots to do a little off trail riding. I went with 1.63" paddle for the trails.

Great video, What people don't know but you pointed out somewhat is aftermarket has had all upgrades and offered them for the 800 (Other than the motor for years) Spindles were mentioned and we have been pushing 36" arms on polaris RMKS since 2011... Guess time will tell if the 850 is any better motor wise than the 800s have been. Reliably has and seems to always be the major downfall to the RMK family.

Arctic Cat is in the ballpark now ! Polaris has been king for a lonnnnnnng time but Ski-Doo and Arctic Cat are killing it now ! Alpha One with the new Ctec2 800 engine is quite tempting !

honestly all 3 brands are so good these days it pretty much comes down to your own personal preference. they all do very well in deep pow, their all so close. I really want to try the alpha though!

I work at a Polaris Dealership & boy was I excited when I saw our demo was a 144 track 850 SKS. Tried to buy it from the boss before it got abused by some of us. Noticed it is a bit sluggish off the line vs the Skidoo 850 but once we have enough snow, I got nothing to lose and a GoPro Hero 6. Lets see what kind of abuse it will take.

Almost ten years in the rush chassis. Time for a change. Ski Doo has made three versions of the Rev since 08.
@soko1450
@soko1450 5 лет назад
It's only the fifth year for the Axys chassis. The Rush only refers to the latter half of the Rush and Switchback models. One does not need to change simply because all the cool kids are doing it. The biggest reason for the Ski-Doo changes are to keep up with the Polaris chassis improvements. The Axys is still the best chassis on the market and they just keep improving it. Trust me. They're developing the next gen right now. Guaranteed to be an updated version of the Axys. Just like the Axys was an update of the Pro XC (Rush). Very similar but different enough to feel like a different animal.
@KliqDon1983
@KliqDon1983 5 лет назад
@@soko1450 same hood same headlights. Sled looks exactly the same as it did d in 2010. I understand that made improvements to the slide but that's like taking fenders off of Ford F-150
@KliqDon1983

Plus the rush chassis was a direct answer to the Rev which was built in 2003
@KliqDon1983
@KliqDon1983 5 лет назад
I'm sure Ski-Doo could have lightened the original REV chassis if they have kept using it for 15 years
@soko1450
@soko1450 5 лет назад
@@KliqDon1983 Sorry. The 2010-14 and 2015-19 share almost zero parts. Only about 10% (chassis and body). The hoods and headlights are absolutely nothing alike and are not interchangeable in any way. The only parts they share are some fasteners. Trust me. My buddy has a '13 and I have a '17. Parked side by side they look nothing alike. I don't think you've kept up to date on the specs of these models. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-03CdzgV8tpI.html The Axys chassis is only five years old.I can't use any parts from the previous years

What I really want to know is, did Polaris make any performance upgrades available for the 850 yet like they had with the 800. When skidoo brought thier 850 to market they already had a line of upgrades that didn't void your warranty, like a much lighter pipe and can set up. I'm snow checking Saturday, the 850 stock exhaust is inexcusably large. I want to upgrade without voiding warranty. Polaris better not have dropped the ball on this.
@ColinMcEvoy
@ColinMcEvoy 6 лет назад
what performance products are you refering to? polaris has never made anything like that that i'm aware of?
@ArmorOfZeus
@ArmorOfZeus 6 лет назад
Colin McEvoy I was told at Haydays from a Polaris rep that they made a partnership with straight line performance offering lighter y-pipes, and other things that you could swap out without warranty issues. This was on last gen sleds from what I was told.
@ColinMcEvoy
@ColinMcEvoy 6 лет назад
that may be the case then, you may have to talk to straight line to confirm though.
@ArmorOfZeus
@ArmorOfZeus 6 лет назад
Colin McEvoy yeah, I'll pick my sales managers brain about it as well on Saturday when I snow check. I know it doesn't really apply to a Turbo guy like yourself. I gotta question, do you know if the SKS has the same frontend parts wise as the RMK? I know the RMK is a few inches narrower. I have to ride trails quite a bit to get to the good stuff and could use the extra cooler on the bulkhead.
@ColinMcEvoy
@ColinMcEvoy 6 лет назад
unholy rollerz I’m not really sure, haven’t found that info really. I took turbo off the sled after last season though. Ran just a can this season

The ac ctech has less hp then the 800ho. Dyno proven multiple places The new 850 crank is actually heavier
@Ben-rz5wl
@Ben-rz5wl 5 лет назад
Cory Root Correct. The AC 800 CTec (152 HP) is an underpowered 800cc engine compared to the Polaris 800 HO. Dynos on the 800 HO have ranged from 155 to 158 HP. Because of the better clutching and less weight, there are a bunch of RU-vid videos of Polaris 800 HO's hanging with and even slightly beating Doo 850's. The new Polaris "850" is technically an 840cc, so even more proof it wasn't a "copy" of Doos 850. When compared to the Polaris 800 HO, the 850 Patriot sleds are about 12 pounds heavier.
