2019 Ram 1500 Cold Air Intake Install and Review (5.7L HEMI V8) | Truck Central

I just put this exact (almost) unit in my 2012 RAM. There is one SOB bolt to remove the old stock and its easier to just pull the wheel well off half way to get to it. The install went great up until the pvc hose. My model is different and required a hose clamp to secure. Lastly put the filter on before you install the Hose & Box because it wont fit without forcing it.. maybe just my 2012. The instructions are in red with a ! regarding the Negative Disconnect. It took me over 3 hours but it always takes me longer doing this stuff then you guys. I took if for a short spin about 15 miles and once I hit the highway I had a smile from ear to ear. I kept the rubber side plate off mine and will install it as needed. The rumble and roar while accelerating is really cool. Cant wait to show my GF .. I am sure to get one of those cherished side looks and smile from her. If I get better gas millage well that's good too. Cool factor is a 10.

Soon as you said West Texas I immediately knew what you mean about the dust. It gets everywhere even after you freshly wash your vehicle.

Just make sure that you first take off the negative cable from your battery. If you don't, you'll get a check engine light after about two rides or as soon as you turn your vehicle on . He just forgot that one step. Great install bro.👍🏼

Very nice!!!! I have been enjoying your videos from day you got the truck. Looking to getting an S&B for my 5th generation RAM 2500, had her for year since purchased from dealership. 9 miles we started now at 11,000, 6.4 going strong.

I run the S&B on my 2011 ram sport. I've ran air raid, K&N and this S&B is the biggest and best best built one and by far best performance fron a CAI is the S&B. Its a closed box.

I bought a S and B for my 19, but it was to big for my truck, becuz I got a oil catch can, so had to go with the K&N cold air intake..I so luv it and I think so worth the money!!

It's amazing what a cold air intake does to that hemi it makes that motor scream great install 👍💪

With these hemis it’s important to maintain where the box draws the air. The open filters draw hot air from the engine bay. These closed box systems Use the stock draw which is either from the front before the radiator or the wheel well which at idle is no worse than stock or a little worse but with any speed it’ll draw more air from the stock location meaning cooler air away from the engine, more power and more efficiency. Good choice!! Closed box systems are the ideal way to go on these modern engines 👍

I did wireline in WTX. Sometimes I miss it then I realize I don't. Stay safe out there

When I did CAI in my Hemi GC; I was disappointed initially. Sounded awesome! But I lost a ton of low end power. Then after about a week or 2 of driving, the engine came alive! It was like the ecu didn’t know what to do with all the additional air. Once the ecu re-mapped there was a noticeable difference.

Just a question, Love your videos. If you install a cold air intake on the Ram, will it void ,out the manufacturer warranty.

What rear end ratio do you have? A 3.92 gear makes a big difference :)

It would have been better to do before and after chassis dyno test for true hp gains. Seat of the pants is not very accurate but your mileage gains look good. Next mod should be chrome plated muffler bearings (lol).

Do you really notice a difference in performance and increase in MPG? I have a B2 Moderate muffler which sounds great will this add a big amount of noise while cruising or towing?

The oily issue that I have heard with the after market reusable filters, is that people over oil the filters and the excess oil ends up on the mass flow sensor which causes problems.

You forgot to disconnect the battery. By doing so you're letting the computer learn to run with the new intake. I for forgot to do that with my 2017 Ram and it ran Like Shit.

I was told that If I use an aftermarket CAI, It would void the warranty. I was told to only use a Mopar CAI but it's $800 bucks 🤦🏻

Are you running 3.92 or 3.21 rear axle?

How did the 500 mile empty mpgs to TX compare to previous mpgs?

I am glad everyone is feeling something from their intakes! I installed an AFE Momentum GT intake, unlocked computer, and a Diablo 93 octane tune, and I am not sure if I feel any difference at all! I have a 2020 Limited with just the Hemi, no eTorque. I really miss my tuned 2018 Raptor!

Do you have the 3.92 gears?

What happened to your air conditioner hose , it should be right next to the air box

Get the Pulsar tune. I got it for mine. You won’t look back to stock.

You want better performance buy a whipple supercharger then you see a big difference.. hold on!
