2020 Ducati Panigale V2 Review

Weird request, but i'd love to see a Q&A type with James/JHS/Fagan about their racing/business history.

it astounds me that we can say someone can "step down" to this bike. I mean this is top liter bike power from only 4-5 years ago. The fact that we have 200bhp+ monsters now is insane (but then again, they can only be reigned in with Electronics nowadays...)

Al delivers the goods with easily the best review of the V2!!! Loved the battle with Neevesy who was clearly trying and great to hear of all the small tweeks that have really made a difference that get glossed over in other reviews. The points Al makes at the end about people being faster on one of these than most litre bikes is spot on and would love to see him do a whole video on the subject. SuperSports improved my riding no end, especially on track and owning a 90s Kwaka 600 was the best investment I ever made in my riding. Truth be told, even today I'd take the V2 over the V4... you can ride them harder for longer and the smaller bikes when well built reward good riding far more than simply relying on HP on the straights to make up for your crappy braking and corner speeds.

Just to put it into perspective, when Fagan starts getting loose/wobbly at 240kph that's 150mph, he topped out at 250ish kph.

Man Statham! that lap around 10;46 chasing the MCN guy was epic!!! Love it!!

Now.... I don't want to sound like some Fagan-Fanboi scrote, but fact is this is the best review of this bike out there. Packed with actual information, delivered in a genuine manner. I'm having a wobble about "test riding" one tomorrow (with proper social distancing measures, naturally), and my WIFE, who HATES motorbikes, thinks it's a good idea to get it.... which can only mean there's some decorating in my immediate future..... Hey, great review! Did you guys ever try the 959 Corse with the Öhlins suspension? How would you compare it to the V2? I bought a new 959 Corse earlier this year and now I really want the V2, especially when they release a Corse version or similar 😨

so it's good on the track … wadda ya reckon for on-street though? Or how about for commuting? (ok … it's never gonna be a commuter … but is it manageable for say 45-60 minutes of fun nipping through the traffic?) Or the occasional weekend road-trip or café-run?

I was all set to get a new BMW S1000RR M package but with all the negativity about production and quality issues I am more inclined now to opt for the V2.

I loved my 959. I have a v4s but i really do miss my 959. I might pick up a v2 for my first track day lessons.

Since you guys rode both the Daytona 765 and the Ducati V2 how would you compare them? If you could only buy one for the spring which would it be?

If you can't afford the V2, could you make a few little tweaks to a second hand 959, ie, raise the rear ride height a touch to make it worth while..?

I’d love to see you, Fagan, race a stock v4 vs a v2 with an Akra Provich and filter system. I think you could get within a half second maybe equal if given enough time.

Is its sorely missing the shift lights from the 899. Very fun to upshift it just right with the peaky engine down a straight.

I have a question, this or the S1000RR as a road bike? I've had my GSX-R1000 K9 from new and wondering if it's time to upgrade to something with the safety net of ABS. I don't really go on track, so more interested in torque/mid range and ease of having fun on the road. Or should I be heading down a different route entirely (Tuono, for example)?

So what's better value, a used base model 1199 or this?

Amazing bike. It can easily crack 150 mph/250 kph in very few seconds and it handles like a goddess. If you purchased one of these bikes, you would literally be wasting all of your money unless you took it on the track at least once every month. Beautiful machine.
