Review of the new f250 super duty with 10 speed transmission and new hp for new power stroke engine. Visit www.machaikfordofvictoria.com or call 361-576-1221 to see this truck in person. Stock#20121
Best review so far. Good view of the gauges and trans shifting with the new 10 speed. Shifts look fast. Lock up looks crisp. No shift flare. Makes the truck enjoyable to drive. Looks like lock up stays engaged most of the time.
Thanks!! I know my videos are longer and have a lot of instrument cluster time. That’s what I look for when buying. I want to see accelerations and shifts.
I’ve wanted one of these for awhile, and since they announced the 2020 specs i waited even a but longer and these are just finally hitting the dealer lots so im gonna get me one!
I am a ford fan, have been driving them for many years. Anyone who states that an optioned out Lariat is as good as a Platinum is dead wrong. I ordered a 2019 F350 Lariat and traded in a 2013 F250 Platinum. The 2013 was hands down a better quality truck. I have now bought a 2020 F350 Platinum ($85,000) and it is far superior to any truck out. I traded the 2019 F350 (new cost ($75000) with 8300 miles as it was not the caliber of a Platinum. With all of that being said, I think the transmissions may be a problem for a while. I literally drove the truck off the lot and came right back because of noise that didn’t appear right. After coming back with less than 2 miles driven, and going through the chain at the dealership....I learned that the transmission was bad. They did give me a new 2020 explorer to drive and are getting a new transmission shipped from Detroit so it can be swapped out. The dealership is handling it great and ensuring I am informed step by step, but what a bummer. Can’t wait to get it though, there is literally no other car or truck on the road that can compete with everything these trucks have to offer. I know, some Dodge, Chevy or other lovers will comment negatively, but I assure you that you can’t show a window sticker on a 2020 truck that you own that is this well equipped. And if you can’t show it, you aren’t worth the comment you make on the topic.
sammy duran I hope so, I’ve got a 17 and they haven’t leaked yet thankfully. I went lariat fully loaded and saved the $18k that you pay for the platinum badge.
With 10% down on a standard 60 month loan at 4.5%; after tt&l you're looking at $100,000. Kind of hard to believe bedliner doesn't come standard for $100,000.
Question for anyone. I just got a 2019 F250 and when I start it up, it the gage view always defaults to "towing status". My 2016 F150 defaulted to my last view. Does anyone know how to change this or do I have an issue? Thanks.
Not everyone wants that and if you really do they don't cost that much extra. Ford doesn't want to force their customers to have specific items like that so they just don't add them
So, just because a truck is $80k, you think that none of the driveline components should get surface rust on them? Do you live in fairy tale land or what?
@@Deere-uh4go LOL, let me know what it's like in fairytale land. Even cars built by Mercedes will have some surface rust on those raw metal components after sitting out in the weather.
Just rolled off the carrier today and they have already put an UGLY dealership sticker on the back. I would not buy a truck from a dealer until the body shop removed the hideous sticker!
The F150 10 speed has the same shift “abnormality” that Ford calls normal, it has gotten worse on my truck. I was hopping that it was corrected for the SD but it sounds like it didn’t.
Sidney Johnson Oh no. I had a 2018 f150 with horrid up and down shifts in the 3,4,5 and sometimes 6th gear. Ford bought it back and I got a 19 Super Duty diesel and that 6spd is sooo good. I hope they don’t ruin it w/the 10!
Juan De Pedro Does it fall under your states’ lemon law? Mine did. By the time it had about 8900 miles on it (4 months) it had already been in the shop for 38 days. Ford took a while to complete the buyback but I drove it for free for the next 4 months or 5 and it had 15,500 miles on it when I turned it back in. Got every penny refunded, but I paid for the lawyer ($2500).
Wow, a bedliner. Awesome, that would seal the deal. I think you may be right. A 100,000 truck without a bedliner should be discounted to 99,500. Wow! A bedliner!!
There is no center differential, so it does not need a center differential lock. It would be impossible. When it’s in 4x4 mode, it’s locked in. You shouldn’t drive in 4x4 on pavement. It does have an optional rear locker. The Tremor package has rear locker standard and a front limited slip. It should go just about anywhere.
TheRushtime you don’t really understand it. But that’s ok. A center differential isn’t for off-road. It’s for driving both axles on pavement. It allows the two axles to open up to allow the vehicle to go around corners without binding the axles up. Because of that, it makes it less capable off-road, when you want 50/50 torque all the time to avoid getting stuck. That’s where the center differential lock comes in. These Super Duty’s don’t have a center differential. It’s not made to drive in 4x4 mode on pavement. Hence there is no center diff lock. Putting it in 4x4 mode is like putting a Toyota or Land River in 4x4 with the center differential locked. It’s the same. On pavement, it has to be in 2 wheel drive.
@@alexs3187 1. You contradict yorself)). Center diff is for off-road when you 50/50 torque between 2 axles. In a city you don't need even 4x4 mode. 2. What do you mean "this truck"? May be other models has an option like all diffs and locks? Or may be it is possible to add them in some car workshop? 3. And by the way the 3rd question if you know: is it possible to convert it from pickup to an SUV? Pickup is not useful imho (you can't sleep in there), but has strong chassis.
TheRushtime I didn’t contradict myself. Read it carefully. Center differentials are to allow 4x4 mode on pavement (on vehicles that have them). Toyota calls it “Full time 4x4”. Some manufacturers call it AWD. It allows better traction on pavement, but still allows it to slip so that it can drive on dry pavement. So to add more capability off-road, they have a center differential lock for mud and snow. Ford doesn’t have this on the Super Duty. It’s just 4x2 or 4x4 lock. No in between mode. The F150 has a 4 Auto mode, but that’s a selection inside the transfer case. It doesn’t have a center differential like Toyota has. But it can do the same thing. Basically if you don’t have a center differential, you don’t need a center differential lock. Center diffs are only to allow you to use 4x4 on pavement. The Ford Expedition is the SUV version of the Ford F-150. It’s transfer case works the same way. 4x2, 4 Auto (so you can use it on pavement), 4 High (locked), and 4 low. The base models only have a 4x2 and 4 auto mode.
This is a good question.. I like all truck brands. I buy a new truck every year due to mileage. I traded my 19 1500 limited in with over 50k miles. I have been a mechanic since I was a kid and worked on all types of engines from 2 stroke Detroit’s, cat 6.25 bores, to modern day engines. I understand all systems on the engine and power train. I have a high respect for engineers in this segment. Competition drives perfection.. The trucks are different and I weigh the pros and cons for me with each purchase. If we could have the perfect truck we would choose best technology, best ride, most comfortable seats, best payload, best tow rating, best fuel Effeciency, best in your seat power, best leg room, etc.. One truck will not have all of these features and we all will make a decision. I had three mega cabs in a row and went to ford king ranch and loved that truck also. Sometimes you just want something different when purchasing something new. I also look at supply and demand in the used market and how that affects resale on the vehicle. I know it’s a long answer.. it just depends on your needs, do you pull trailer how large? How often? How far is your daily commute? What kind of mileage are you looking for.. if I won the lottery I would have one of each for different reasons lol..
This is such a shallow comment, its the top of the line heavy duty flagship - more loaded than most luxury cars. We all know you can buy a waaay cheaper work horse without the bells and whistles if you want to.
Jack Smith, Ford Superduty truck sales are up. Ford is pumping them out as fast as they can. By the way, my wife, daughter , and son all work at the Ford Superduty plant in Kentucky. These trucks are the best.
Nice. I'm not a big fan of platinum. Plain black Interior. Looks like a base model . I can get a XLT and slap on the logo platinum. I'll stick to King ranch
I bought the 2018 XLT with all the options I could find... I hate sunroof and leather anyway. I got the full camera setup, the full mirror setup, the gooseneck hitch, the rear glass, the chrome package, 4x4 FX4, sat nav etc.
@mtrujillo1973 for me it's If you gonna charge me 70k to 100k for a vehicle it better look like only a Pilot can drive it. It's the 21 century. Give me more for my money's worth. I remember most expensive truck was 40K to 50k you get all the bells and whistles. Now they wanna charge so dam much that it still looks like a base model. Platinum, why the hell so expensive. I can get a XLT with leather and still look like the platinum for half the price Just saying. Give me more for my money
The diesel takes away 1000lbs, the 4x4 takes away 600lbs. If you need payload don't get the powerstroke, or get the F450. I love my F250, but it won't hold a big camper... it will pull up to 15000 though.
Finn Campeau Same with how the interiors match now. The new F-150 will be out soon. New interior. All the normal stuff. Etc... The super duty won’t be far behind if I had to guess based on how ford has been doing it lately.
