In my view : 1.Legacy retained in design 2.Better company fitted top 3.Better ride quality 4.Improved safety and interior features 5.Front facing rear seats 6.Lacs arm rests for all 4 passengers 7.Will give better ride experience in city (automatic) and off-road 8.on highway will b a bumpy ride over a certain speed. 9. Nice colour options 10. Reverse parking camera missing.
The grill is an eyesore ,but it's an easy aftermarket fix ..and people who think Thar is a copy of Wrangler ,the Wrangler is an evolutionary design of the original cj3b & Mahindra also assembled the Cj-3B as cl550 here under Licensed approval of Jeep like HM made ambassador from MG motors. And not only that Mahindra also renewed their license in 2009 before the inception of new gen mm540 called the Thar. So those who don't know educate yourself ,it's not a blatant copy but an agreement between two manufacturers to continue the legacy mahindra has also been a part of.It's like Tata manufacturing Multijet from FCA and calling it with a different name ,they get the engine but mahindra uses the Design .The roxor case was because mahindra wasn't allowed to use the same in FCA'S homemarket - America ,that wasn't part of the deal but if it's a copy they can sue them here too ,but they can't & won't .
@@ananthanmb4659 what exactly is Indian culture? Living under a rock while the rest of the world moves forward, is what you call Indian culture.? Stop vouching for something that doesn't exist.
'Steering has been centered' hits the mark 😆 , I've never driven thar myself. But I've sat in one many a times and the tilted steering always used to get me tilted 😂. New thar though. Looks bang on awsome.
Abey hats off ki kya baath hai isme upload kiye hinge network problem ki vajase abh upload huwa hoga iske liye hats off ki kya baath hai ye kya achivement hai kya aanpadh gavar sale
And I thought of getting a good bike for off-roading, while retaining my sedan. Now out goes the idea of a new bike and my old car, and in rides the Thar
Mahindra should let people customise the Thar with Leather Seats, Auto Seats, Full LEDS , Reverse Camera, Turbo Diesel Engine and other creature comforts
Bro, Offcourse when you shift to a lower gear when you are accelerating there will be engine noise. That's your driving problem not the vehicle 😂. There is no doubt, this new BS6 Thar is of very high quality when compared with the previous model.Even in Jeep Wrangler its not a smooth drive and it costs around 75 Lakhs. Be proud as an Indian and hatts off to Mahindra Engineers to bring up such a nice looking vehicle and am sure that the price of this Thar will be around 1/8th of the Jeep Wrangler.
What a banging review of the new Thar. Factual, opinionated and tongue in cheek? Saw Renuka and Bert but this one beats them hands down. Good job guys!
Dude you are judging this car like its made by Bugatti... This is day to day riding beast with soft furr on it just to make you less scared while riding it off cliff
I wish the up coming models would have Led headlamp and reverse parking camera. Still from this model I became a fan of thar.I am glad only because Faisal khan always gives the proper review for any vehicle , as he is glad with the car is a killer off-roader for sure.
I can't help but think since Mahindra did so much designing and testing after stretching the dimensions and built the Thar ground up, yet still the rear seats are no better than the jugaad on the older and smaller dimension Thars. For the 'designing' part I guess they took a Wrangler and then Photoshopped it here and there with bits and pieces from Wranglers all the way from the 90's. Then assembled it and gave it a nice paint job. Then before driving it out they chopped off the central part of the grill and inserted a part from the old Armada stock. So I wonder that do we really suck so hard at design and engineering and is this what we can show for what we can proudly achieve in India? Even the so called Chinese rip off from the Great Wall has its own traits and design language. I so wanted to like it but behind all the sheen and shine, it is still a half baked thing. Doesn't seem to be a highway vehicle as the drives show so much wobble. Not even a five seater though much bigger dimensions than the compacts. Off roader- yeah but with the plastic knick knacks it would be quite a pain to keep on reinstalling them. The fun starts when the off-road centric vehicle doesn't have a roll cage in a variant. And all the electronic off road assist features happen to be in the lifestyle centric vehicle. When you look at it without the initial excitement and childish glee, it seems like a mindless mash up of many things and not really that much of a real improvement upon the older Thar in terms of capability etc. Just a flashier livery with its own set of wrinkles. Lots of wasted space and all that stretching up of rhe dimensions simply an exercise in futility if this doesn't seat more than the previous gen or looks lesser finished inside than the Thars of yore done up by the mod market. Or if it doesn't inspire much confidence above 80 kmph on highways. If the target audience is still people who need to mod it to suit their needs, then the old Thar offered more ruggedness and they could have simply put this grille on it so the people could swap it with a Wrangler or an Angry bird later. Given it a new paint job. Added a touchscreen and be done with it. Design and engineering should make things better. Make them more useful. Blend form with function and enhance the output. This has a borrowed form with a sloppy execution and the function part is neither here nor there. They just did what modders were doing for ages, just with better quality parts, yet not really achieve anything original or anything outstanding in terms of either form or function.
this is what the landrover defender should have been. mahindra did what land rover defender fans want. they could sell it in other countries like africa, south america, australia, and east asia. it will be a huge profit and dominant.
Lots of euphoria is being raised by u tubers about this vehicle but no one talks about previous Thar which is no where visible in market. Is it going to meet same fate and if not what are extraordinary features and reasons.
This man does not make a good reviewer for the back seats considering he way above the average height. Literally all the other reviewers were extremely comfortable in the backseats
If the range starts from 10L and ends at 15L ON ROAD , this car will create history for Mahindra and India. But if it goes above 15L, this would be another bad news of 2020.
Replacing the back row seat with two side seats can accommodate 6 people. For that, replace the existing split back door with a single door that can be opened to the side, I can buy one.
1. 2.2L diesel engine is under performing. 2L fiat engines in Compass, Harrier and Hector are giving better performance. 2. Petrol engine giving same torque as diesel one, that too at very low RPM. Something not adding up. 3. As usual they copied jeep. This time a full copy of Jeep Wrangler. The grille was also exact copy of wrangler as per original design but Mahindra changed if after a case in US. Also this wide grill exposes the radiator to small flying objects. 4. Just two doors are usable. 5. This cannot be a family vehicle. Negligible boot space. 6. Look at the rear seats. It is somehow fit between the huge wheel arch humps which are projecting inside. Rear seat can accommodate only two. 7. The speakers on the roof is going to annoy the passengers. 8. The side glass for rear passengers is fixed. It cant slide down.
Hi any idea whether the chemical binders used to bind the hard top and the metal body are covered under warranty for leakages etc. Some of the test rides initially have found tiny specks of water entering inside. I think this can be the biggest issue with the car once the initial euphoria dies out.
And it's actually 6 times as much ( wrangler ) and it's a perfect deal for this range , you can easily convert the whole interior including the dashboard material , infotainment system and headlights for LEDs for under 1.5 lakhs if you aren't satisfied !!
Changing the suspension to IFS is an easy way for the engineers to refine the way the car drives and steers. However that in esence is taking away a very important aspect of offroading which is articulation. There is a reason why the jeep wrangler still has solid axles. Hope the thar would have copied this aspect of the wrangler as well!
