Owning a Challenger is like dating the thick girl on the cheerleader squad. Shes athletic and can still do all the same flips, tricks, and splits....but theres just a bit more to grab on to when you toss her around...

People seem to forget this is all in good fun and start taking it personally.. just ruins it imo

I'm a Ford guy but have always loved the Challenger. True old school classic muscle car design that just looks mean. Reminds me of growing up with dudes out in their front yards wrenching on their hotrods. Hats off to Dodge for coming out with a very original, full sized, manly, car way back in 2008 when the trend was for manufacturers to make smaller cars. I have a GT350 and have driven a GT500, both amazing although I prefer the driving experience in the 350 (stick), but wouldn't mind driving or even owning a Hellcat Challenger one day just for that old school, full sized, badassery. As for the race, good stuff, both cars did awesome.

Kids, I'm an old fart, the sixties were my time. I'm also a ford guy who went through the muscle car era that ended up buying a 68 442 cause the Fords just didn't do it. So, for me to see these Mustangs and even the F 150's kill it. Holy crap, love it.

The redeye guy forsure cant drive at all. Started in the completely wrong gear for racing.

Same result I get when a redeye pulls next to me looking for trouble. I leave 4 or 5 car lengths distance to make it obvious they lost miserably, then I let off. If you need to modify to keep up or be faster, you are slow to begin with.

I am a Mustang guy. I love all mustangs. That being said I also love cars in general. That Hellcat is a beautiful car with a shit ton of power. I also like Vetts and Camaro's. If it looks and runs good...I like it. We are living in an awesome time for cars right now. Sooner or later the anti gas nuts will get their way and the age of the muscle/ sports car will be over. They'll all be either electric or heavily de-tuned. We just need to enjoy these awesome cars while we still can.

I have an M6 with 20k on her. Of all the cars I’ve owned, it’s my favorite. Heavy as hell and sticks in curves like she’s on rails. And ridiculously quick for a grocery getter ( she’s a Gran Coupe).

I'm a mustang guy, but I'm sure it's much closer from a dig. Probably whoever gets a good launch would win. I do believe the mustang has the rpm and horse to start to walk the cat down near the end of a quarter mile. the mustang will keep pulling in the higher mph as the cats pull tends to taper off.

hellcat doesn't need a driver mod, and it wouldn't have been close even without passengers, that hellcat is just way too heavy and that's that. 797 ain't enough when it weighs 4500lbs lol

Love the hellcat but Dodge needs to drop more weight off it. It's been long called for.

Don't forget the 13-14shelby with 662hp can do the same to a hellcat with 707hp

Ok on this one im def going to have to call complete BS. Either that Redeye is slower than stock or the GT500 is tuned. Our shop has done this run about 30 times with a (Then) stock 2020 GT500 vs a Stock Red Eye and they were dead even. GT500 did FBO Palm Beach Tune, Pulley and Red Eye did FBO Tune Pulley and again dead even up to almost 180 mph.The new GT500 is a monster and our shop one makes 900 wheel now with virtually FBO and E85.

Dodge - shit ton of power but an absolute albatross when it comes to weight - still need to appreciate what American manufacturers are doing with the Shelby, Corvette, Camaro, Challenger & Charger.

GT500 is a beast!

After I learned the 500 in GT didn't mean horsepower by being walked down by those effers, I've come to respect them. A C7 Z06 needs mods to mess with a GT500 that 4th & 5th gear is built for a freight train the way it pulls.

Why not race the RedEye trim?

Ford power, at a stop light and there was a challenger and a SUV and my 2020 explorer. 2.3 turbo. We lined up, I gave the foriegn suv a car length . The challenger was neck and neck. We left the light foriegn SUV in the dust, me and the challenger nose up for 2 seconds and I started to pull away. Blew my mind . Didn't think I could run a hemi like that!, got a full car length.

That transmission in the mustang is amazing. I think dodge needs that transmission and better tires on the rear.

i love my ram. Also loved my cobra. Also gt500. Loved my hellcat. Loved my zl1. Basically in the last 10 years it's been great to be a car guy. Hell I've never liked vettes but 2021 a c8 will be added to the list. Still even with as bad ass as the new cars are I have a huge place in my heart for my terminator cobra. And for a throw back love a 97 supra targa.
