I am super excited about that package and I can't wait to get more details on what they have changed, in particular axle weight rating and gross vehicle weight rating. Those are the areas that I struggle to stay legal on.... It sucks that we are not able to get any inventory at dealerships but as soon as I can get my hands on one I'll do a view on what has been updated....

@@CJIEngineering I ordered my 2022 1/2 ton Sierra just after Christmas with the 3.0 Duramax. Was exited about the max tow package but then learned you cannot get it with the X31 off road package on the GMC. I stuck with the X31 as I really wanted everything that came with that and the 9.000lb tow rating still more than enough for my needs anyhow.

So you are getting the new interior/body style or the LTD version? I was shocked that you couldn't get the 2-speed transfer case with the max tow package, you can't get it with z71, just crazy :(

I could have for sure move the load back a little bit but I'm not sure if I could have got the tongue weight down to below 1,000 lbs to not require the WD hitch. The trailer axles are pretty far back on that trailer making it super stable running down the road but doesn't do me any favors with an evenly distributed load like this. No issues so far, I have had to change the fuel filter once and had a couple of the service bulletins done to the truck but other than that it's been just normal maintenance and fuel. Really happy with it. I'm getting really close to 24,000 miles on the truck. Thank for the comment and watching. I really appreciate it.

I'm actually still trying to figure out what should be done when the Sumo Springs are installed. For sure the rear does not drop as much but I haven't figured out if the front raises the same amount or if it is less and how that affects the load on each of the axles. I'm working on a series of test to show what affect the weight distribution bars have, I have multiple weight ratings plus the overload units. Probably won't have it figured out till some time in April when the weather clears up and I can run the test matrix all in one day. Sorry I can't help more at this time...

So far so good. No issues with the exception of the couple of recalls, seatbelts and engine calibration adjustments. I have had lots of people show concern about the temperature fluctuations but no issues there and one person has reported a high pressure fuel pump failure but mine has been working perfectly. I do believe it is the best 1/2 powertrain available in the market today, great mpg and is a towing beast.

What was your past bad luck?

@@jonnyg9330 you name it. Electrical issues, failed transmissions, rear main seals leaking. This is all on new vehicles with less than 20k miles.

Still working on that one. I was able to get all of the questions consolidated during the few days I have off around Christmas and will be getting them over to GM this week to schedule the interview. Michigan State Police Commercial Cops are always monitoring the freeways around my area. I can say they have never pulled me over but I want to try and help people understand what is allowed with different size trucks. I did similar towing with my Colorado Duramax and it was legal also. There are several RU-vid contributors that say you should use a 3/4 ton truck for this type of load or even for towing my travel trailer. I'm looking to help people understand what you CAN do and not worry about a ticket or worse a lawsuit if you do get in an accident towing. Sorry for the long answer... Thanks for the question and hopefully others will chime in also. I'm curious also.

@@CJIEngineering I'm in Baltimore, and as long as you stay away from the bridge and tunnel they dont mess with you. Where I live I dont have to go very far to get anything fortunely. And not to pick on police but some police forces focus more on traffic stuff than others due to its profitability.
