I have a 2024 ,bought it new , I’m getting 34 to agal on hwy , it’s all stock , I was getting less mileage until I put the Lima cover on the bed , , I have 1500 miles , no def or oil , all good , I don’t abuse my equipment so doing what he did. Not in my truck , but I’m very satisfied with mine , I don’t want to buy another , but I would , very satisfied buyer . Oh my truck pulls a 21 foot Icon boat and it does it nicely ..

I know it's a 3.0 but I had higher expectations. Would be curious to see the difference with some basic tuning. They're killing these new trucks. Give them more power and then restrict tf out of them.

Tuning and deletes are out there, but I’m gonna wait till I hit 5 years or 100k to not void warranty

How much DEF have you used, and how much oil in those 10k miles? I heard they burn a quart every 500 miles.
@mikhails_meats_n_motors
@mikhails_meats_n_motors 4 месяца назад
Mike doesn’t burn a drop, def wise it’s about a tank of def per oil change

The LM2 oil consumption is due to a defective weld inside the valve cover. There's a TSB and redesigned valve cover that addresses the oil consumption issue. Reports of oil consumption with the redesigned LZ0 3.0 Duramax have been extremely rare and nothing close to 1 quart/500 miles. That's Ford GT350/Toyota territory.

I just bought one. 700 miles in and the oil level hasn't changed. I was told it will use some during break-in but go away. So far so good. 99% of the oil consumption issues with the 3.0 Dmax were from the LM2 version, not the 2023+ LZ0 version. The LM2 used oil due to a defect in the valve cover. There's a TSB and redesigned valve cover that fixes that issue.

There is no replacement for displacement as they say

Forced induction more or less is increased displacement.

Turbo diesel says otherwise. Faster than everything other than the 6.2 and 30+ mpg highway to boot.

the fact that a 3.0 duramax even exists is baffling to me. and the fact that they put it into a truck like that is even more stupid.

@@ada-yw1bb No, it's basically a copy of the BMW B57 diesel engine. Watch some of the teardown vids on here, BMW techs are all over them, amazed how identical it is to the diesels they service.

No, what is stupid is that Cummins made a partnership with Dodge. Brilliant on their part: "Let's take the best diesel engine on the market and wrap it up in a rolling dumpster fire that is the Dodge Ram pickup truck." What is stupid is that anything other than an Inline-6 diesel was even attempted in a half-ton truck. Both the Ecodiesel and Ford "Power"stroke 3.0 were garbage from day one and it shows based on the fact that neither are even offered anymore. The 3.0 Dmax is different. It offers huge torque while also getting well over 30 mpg on the highway. The only engine option better than it is the 6.2 V8, which recommends 91+ octane fuel and doesnt make as much torque.
@karlschauff7989
@karlschauff7989 2 месяца назад
The 3.0 is great. More torque than the 6.2 but still averages 28 mpg highway.
