Man, I just rented the 2020 Camry this past weekend and I loved it. It handles very well, it’s surprisingly powerful for a 4 cylinder car, yet a great gas saver. The only thing I did not like about it is that I felt it too low that when I got on an unpaved road I could hear and the grass and other small bushes rub underneath.

Great comparison video GP! I have to admit it broke my heart to see Camry take the win 💔 But I love how you tried to be objective and true to the facts as much as possible. I have owned 5 vehicles in my lifetime and all were either Honda or Acura vehicles, all which were naturally aspirated Honda engines. I made sure all normal maintenance was always done in timely fashion and never once had a mechanical issue on either of them. I still have my 2012 naturally aspirated Honda Accord Coupe with auto transmission. No CVT for me please. Her V-tech still purrs like a kitten and transmission shifts silky smooth. I am the dying breed that still loves coupes over SUVs. So sad Honda no longer offering coupe on Accord! I have driven this 10th generation Accord 1.5T and 2.0T models and even though I could not feel the turbo lag it really was a let down that Honda took away thier naturally aspirated V6 from 10th gen Accord. I will never own a CVT transmission and it is a shame Honda is putting them in so many models now. I have to admit though this 10th gen Accord 2.0T auto 10 speed was so quick off the line on my test drive with no turbo lag that I almost bought it that day.❤ I just could not get past it did not fully meet all my wants in design and was not NA. I looked at this gen Camry as well and love that all the trims are naturally aspirated with real transmissions; not CVT but it too came up short in meeting all my wants. In my opinion, I would create the following vehicle if I could create my own version of this generation Camry/Accord with only using options offered from the two models: Combine Accord's sleek front fascia, polished brow, defined body lines with Camry's XSE quad exhaust stylish rear with toyota 3.5L V6 engine/transmission with panoramic moon roof, Honda adaptive suspension and fine tuned steering, vivid fast reactive Honda infotainment set up, camry 800KW sound system, Honda spacious interior layout with real leather seats and back row heating, Camry safety technology, Honda reverse camera with its multiple view options and parking sensors, Camry XSE two tone wheels and choice of any interior/exterior color choice/combos that Accord and Camry offer. Umm I think that about sums up the best version of both models in my opinion if I could create my own sedan between options offered for Camry/Accord. 😄

If you want a reliable sedan that focuses on performance, then the Honda Accord Sport 2.0 is (in my opinion) the best choice. -- If straight line acceleration is your only criteria, then the 6 cylinder Camry wins (and not by much). So buy the 6 cylinder Camry. In the ¼ mile, the Accord will still win. But the Camry will have a slight advantage from a dead stop (due to slight turbo lag from the Accord). So light-to-light, the Camry has the edge. Otherwise. the Accord has the edge. If you want an overall top performing sedan, then the Accord Sport 2.0 wins. Here's why: 1) It handles better. If you want to take a turn at speed, the Sport 2.0 stays glued to the road and has minimal lean. The Camry is also good, but not as good as the Accord. 2) The 2.0 Accord will almost always match or beat the Camry's acceleration, and the Accord will get better gas mileage. 3) (only a guess, but a 4 cylinder car (Accord) will probably have lower insurance premiums than a 6 cylinder car (Camry) -- assuming straight line acceleration is paramount). Note that the 2.0 Accord will handle better than the 1.5 Accord. This is due to the 2.0 having Michelin tires from the factory, and the 1.5 having Goodyear tires from the factory. For these specific tire models, the Michelin's handle turns better. Note that I am referring to pushing the car sideways around a turn (or at least hugging a turn). If you will never take a turn at speed, then none of this matters. There might be differences in the suspension between the 1.5 and 2.0 Accords? If there are, then that, too, will contribute to the handling. But the tires are different (and tires matter!). ----- By the way, the stereos that come with either of these cars are all nothing special. If you rate a stereo only on how loud it gets, and how much bass it can pump out, then I guess the Camry wins. But if you value realistic sound reproduction, great imaging, great soundstaging, etc, then neither of these cars does an outstanding job. In my 2003 Nissan Sentra, my stock stereo sounds better than either of the above. If you close your eyes, and you can tell where the speakers are, then the stereo is not very good. You might still like to listen to it. But on a better stereo, the speakers "disappear". You do not hear a mechanical process producing sound. Rather, you hear a wall of music with no identifiable point of origin. I recently purchased a 2.0 automatic Accord Sport. It is great (not perfect). My old Sentra's stereo is definitely better -- and not because I am used to it. Honda and Toyota have the resources and could have and should have done a better job with the stereos. My guess is that whoever is currently in charge of this area has different (and not good) taste in quality sound reproduction. By the way, the Nissan Altima's stereo is also a yawn. Cheers!

Perhaps the Camry is a piece of shit. Especially old big obsolete engine that make the car prone to understeer in the corners due to heavy weight in the nose. The Accord is the superior car and if someone requieres even more power just a simple tune with the turbo in the Accord and it becomes a monster

Sold Camry for 20 years. This one comes down to personal taste. Most of your categories that went to Camry could have been judged a tie. Accord likely better road feel, more fun to drive.Camry likely softer, maybe smoother or just a bit quieter. And, Accord will be less money to purchase. But it’s the personal reaction to the car’s focus that determines which is the best selection. As you know, Honda’s are fun, they feel good and respond quickly. Camrys are great but not as sporty, instead softer. And that Accord is huge for people as well as cargo. So, TWO WINNERS.

I do like your format for comparing the 2020 Toyota Camry & 2020 Honda Accord. You've taken the work out of reading reviews on first one and then the other and trying to remember all the differences. Next time you do a comparison like this I would love to see you add a few more factors to evaluate on the Interior Quality element. You did review amount of plastics and interior color choices which are important. However, I am more interested in the features of the driver's seat since that is where I will be spending a lot of my time. Which vehicle has the most comfortable driver's seat? Is there lumbar support (2-way or 4-way)? Is there a thigh extender function and, if not, is the seat bottom long enough to support your legs comfortably? What about the bolsters and the amount of cushioning in the seat bottom? Another factor I would love to see you evaluate on the Interior Quality element is the length, width, and comfort of the front seat armrests (both on the doors and in the center). Then, there is the factor of interior layout of the buttons and controls - are they easy to use and which vehicle does a better job. Thank you.

Good comparison review. I would have liked it if you had given your opinion on the sound quality of the sound systems, rather than just going by the numbers. I agree with you, the engine in the Toyota is the clear winner. A naturally aspirated 6-cylinder beats a turbo charged 4-cylinder any day, hands down. I do like the interior of the Accord better, and the head unit is far superior. That head unit on the Camry looks straight out of the 90s. It's a close comparison. I'd have to drive both, to be sure. Now my ultimate dream car would be either a Jeep trackhawk, Charger Hellcat or scat pack, or a Mercedes s63 AMG.

I hope Honda watches this. The accord is my favorite. It looks better, in my opinion, and it definitely drives better, no argument about that. But Honda could definitely improve a lot, especially how they messed over the American market. In Canada, the accord lx comes with Android auto and apple CarPlay, and the base 1.5 sport in Canada comes with a moonroof and turn signal indicators on the side view mirrors, things only available on the exl and touring in the U.S. In Asia, the accord comes with more interior color options, including a peanut butter colored leather interior and not to mention the Asian market gets a panoramic moonroof. In this day and age it's unacceptable for Honda to include their probably worst in class audio system. They definitely should've put in a branded audio system. Toyota provides us with JBL, Hyundai and Kia offers us Bose and Harmon Kardon, Mazda also offers Bose, Ford offers Sony, and Volkswagen offers us Beats. Hopefully Honda makes these improvements with the mid cycle refresh.

Well they listened, because the 11th gen Accord Touring has a Bose sound system, which sound amazing. But they removed the 2.0t so in my opinion it's one step forward and two steps back. Reason why I chose to buy a 10th gen 2.0t over a 11th gen accord.

@@kingvisu I had a 7th gen v6 for 14 years, no issues other than the LCD on the radio went out but was covered under warranty. I did like the off the line torque of the v6. But the 2.0t with the 10 speed does a great job of leaping into action. I feel like mid-range the 2.0t is faster. But neither car has great top end. I wish they would have kept the v6 and put the 10 speed they have in the 10th gen, that would be a very fun car. Honda got rid of the v6 to get the 1.5t and 2.0t that have better MPG over the v6. I was lucky to get 26 MPG on my 7th gen v6, it would suck the gas if you got into it a lot. But the 2.0t is winning my heart currently, the 10 speed transmission is the secret sauce with this 10th gen Accord.

You actually claim that the both top trims are a tie in power but every other review has the accord as faster. Every drag race and there’s plenty of them on RU-vid the accord touring destroys the Camry v6. If you have to try to convince your audience halfway thru your comparison that you’re not bias chances are you’re simply bias. You’re the first person on RU-vid to give the win to the Camry so you’re truly in a class of your own.

Love the comparison!!! I’m partial to Toyato having had a 2005 Honda CRV (which was an excellent vehicle). Then I got a 2010 Toyato Prius (wonderful with the Hybrid performance). Traded the two for a 2015 Toyota Avalon. Excellent in every way. Still driving it now in 2020 (actually, I no longer drive because of epilepsy, so, the wife does all the driving). She insisted on the Avalon and I’m glad we got it. Love what you did with this video and with the Avalon being in the higher category, this comparison you made gives me a sense of pride in the Toyota Product. Look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks for being so thorough in such a small amount of time!!!

Hey drew, loved this video. This kind of comparison is great. I own a 2018 Camry LE but I do love Honda’s. I will always choose natural aspiration over turbo any day in my daily driver because of long term reliability. My last Toyota (a 1998 corolla) lasted over 350k miles and was still going when I sold it to a friend. Has about 370 now. Toyota’s are undoubtably more reliable, though I admit Honda is a close second. Maybe in the future you could pick a trim level that is most popular like LE and compare that to the equivalent. I’m curious; if instead of taking a macro look at the car and all the trims you instead honed in on one level of the tables would turn. Still would avoid the turbo though.

Camry 2GR-FKS naturally aspirated V6 making 301hp which is a updated more hp version of the 2GR-FE which is an engine used in 100 grand Lotus cars like the evora and is a common engine swap for MR2s The Accord? Um.... the engine.....it exists, it make car go forward, not a real k series fam as it’s only making 30 more hp than original type r k20a except the accord weighs 1000 lbs more than the civic from then did, back to vs the camry, the accord uses a turbocharger to make... 50 less hp, and less fuel economy.... ironic isn’t it? What really matters with these 2 cars: Honda 1.5L T with oil dilution issues plus the unknown with how that turbo will hold up and effect the engine long-term. Toyota with some gear-hunting and mild downshift delay in the 8-speed. Pick your risk.
