The one thing that really bothers me about the freightliner is the Velcro on the curtains. I have an international and it has magnets. Also put led headlights in it. That’s a MANDATORY upgrade on any truck

OMG those stock seats are brutal. Whoever orders the trucks with the cheap seats needs to sit on them for two weeks to really understand how bad they are.

In the 2018/2019 new redesign when they first came out there wasn’t even a A/C vent on the top bunk so it’s been improved since then

The headache rack that TMC uses is huge. You can store the tarps, chains, binders, edge protectors and all your straps in that thing. The only thing that they don't have is the ability to rack your dunnage on the sides, which I find to be a huge plus.

I run a 2020 kw t680 at rbx just down the road from prime springfield. Its got almost everything except the big fridge and led lights. Both trucks are very nice. I been thinking about coming to prime lately

It's good to hear they doing a different solution for bunk heaters. Both the Espar and Wabasto would get plugged up or fouled sensors from all the dust (especially with flatbed) as they didn't filter the intake air. Over time they just quit putting out the heat after a few hours.

Skellr - yes I agree , but I do have to say, I never had an issue with my Webasto in my Evo. I hate to here that. Hopefully this new setup will do you well!

Oh and I strapped my cpap on to the top cubby, just a ratchet strap around the whole cubby, I set my cpap to auto shut off after 60 seconds so I wouldn’t have to mess with it, and the tubing that prime gave me reaches the bottom bunk with ease

@@GONZOTHETRUCKER nice, I have a Microwave so the cubby is not an option. Also I’m a team truck, so a tube stretching across the sleeper wouldn’t be a smart move especially when the active driver has to come to the back for something while I’m sleeping lol

@@fr8sk8r no I mean the cubby on the driver side of the truck. So the tube just hangs down near the apu panel. When I wasn’t sleeping I threw the tube on my bunk (top bunk) so I had access to the mask when I slept on top (truck not moving) and on the bottom (when my trainer was driving) only bad thing is having a ratchet strap in the middle of the cabinet opening when you open the door but that cabinet door will close on top of the ratchet strap

11:30 I moved the cord to the left and over the touchscreen up to the dash edge and over the radio over the outlet :) gives it a clean look hope that helps

Lol, one last comment.😁 Prime's headache rack just went downhill when the started bringing in the EVO. The ones prior to that were much wider and deeper and the top shelf was just right. There was enough room to put _all_ the tarps inside the enclosure, not lift them so high, and keep the out of the weather. Then you could put the coil rack/equipment on top instead. We don't even need the timber holders on the side, IMO.

Add standard 110 V power outlet. Its really important for some essential things, like pap machine for people with sleep apnea who need this air pump overnight.

Waiting on upgrade at Prime but waiting on a Freightliner to become available. Both my trainers had Pete’s but they both said go with a Freight. Too many issues with the Pete’s and wait on getting things fixed.

J Mars I agree 100%. I trained in a Pete as well, and my trainer had under 150k miles on his truck when I started with Prime. I finished my lease(which was new when I got it in 17’) just one month after he finished his😐. That’s a testament to him much actual downtime he had during his lease with the Peterbilt.

My company just gave me a new 2021 Cascadia, it has led head lights, and the radio thumps. Its probably how your company ordered it.

I'll be waiting for your opinion of the wind vents in the winter. The first Cascadias had serious issues with water from the windshield splashing right onto the side mirrors. You were almost always needing to wipe off the mirror to see. They did a bit better with the EVO, but even then, the mirrors could dirty up before you had a planned stop. Dang it.

I like it but prime got you a mixed model.though it seems to have a few extras witch is nice. You got my fridge man you got the right idea,I actually like the radio on my Freightliner it sounds good. Toss some LED bulbs in. I believe their H11's. The front bumper is not painted because it's cheaper to replace when it's damaged.when they order them they're not painted so they'd have to get them repainted over every time. I do know the spoilers on the a pillars are for aerodynamics. They're supposed to reduce the chop around the a pillars.And I definitely agree with the damn air tanks. Thanks for the great video man it's always good to get another opinion.

I like not having the vent on the back corner of the bunk. In the pete I had freezing cold air blowing on my shoulder while the heat came out of the vent from under the bunk. I like the dt12 in the cascadia much more than the eaton auto in the pete. Much easier to dock. The cascadia is also wider than the pete. More space between seats/bunk storage. The biggest thing I miss about the pete is the ride. It was far more like a caddy than the cascadia. The steering was more stable too; didn't have to micromanage the steering like on the cascadia.

I'm so clumsy that I tend to bump the thermos holder with my foot when in a rush and end up breaking it. I just remove it and put some washers on the screws to keep the dirt out of the holes untill the truck gets turned back in. IMO it's a dirt magnet that's kills time to clean. 😀

Definitely prefer a premium Volvo. Currently leased a 2021 Cascadia base model but she comes with a fridge so at least I got that 😂 and she has an upgraded stereo not sure how mines got it maybe the previous driver upgraded it? 🤷🏾 due to the shortage couldn’t be too picky on designs and packages as long as she gets me from point A to point B I’m satisfied 😊

This is all coming from a total rookie, I’m actually starting CDL training with Prime pretty soon, most likely start leasing after TnT. But all the information I’ve compiled in the years I’ve been researching before getting into trucking and the trucks I’ve been in, the Peterbilts are the trucks I would have to say are what I’d have to go with. Hopefully they’ll have a 579 ultaloft available for when I lease my own Prime truck. If not, when I get to O/O level, that might be the first truck I buy. Eventually a 389, but that’s a long way away lol

I’ve few 2018 Cascadia day cabs, they go through DEF like crazy.. Did Freightliner lead you believe the integrated control cluster was new? The dash, doors and seats are exactly like my 2018’s.. Excellent running trucks, zero issues. My lowest mileage truck is at 230,000 miles, other than oxygen censors, no issues. I’m hoping they change these sleepers to be more in line with the 2017 style with the Murphy bed and table.. I need to put 5 teams in lanes next year and they ain’t going to like this set up, I’m not spending Volvo money.. Anyways you got yourself a nice truck, body nice style is nice and aggressive, the ride, steering and nice smooth auto shifting is excellent.. Btw you’ll get a blown out right speaker message popping up pretty soon, all of mine got that message within the 1st 6 months.. can’t really turn the volume up. 👍🏻

That would be a great fix. I've had 2005-2020 and they all leaked. The hood latch on driver side also needed a good fight to close and lock

cody after 3 months of Leasing with Prime, you are eligible to order a new truck custom with Any and All offered options. No matter if it’s a regular walk away lease or an Ace Lease Purchase.

Prime limits there condos to 400hp and there light weights to 410hp. The way I know this is because I seen the trucks on the pedigree web site.

Standard 4 year(flatbed)but it can be bought at the 2 year mark with outside financing. Now reefer is 3 year term and can be converted to an Ace lease in house.

The apu stays on when I start my truck is this normal and will it turn off if I get on the road?

El Wray no it should cut off immediately after starting your rig, you may have the main ignition fuse for your apu blown. I know in my 2018 EVO it was directly behind the ignition switch tied in line with the main ignition switch wiring

I drive 2020 Volvo vnl760 it’s the easiest truck to drive on the market it has 360k on it no problems yet

That’s a prime 2021 which I guess it’s not the same I have to the same truck 2021 I got it in April and I have led head lamps and fog lights

It’s still with us in spirit🥺🙏 Seriously though, the automated manual has a gear selector/Jake brake control lever on the right side of the steering column ( looks like another turn signal)

One think how about the mattress , how good are they cuz I have to order mine on January my EOL is in June but they said I have to order early let me know how good are those mattress lol thanks great video and am a tanker driver

jr colon Thanks for Watching! Definitely ditch the stock mattress even if for a cheap $100 Amazon pillow top and add a 4”-6” memory foam topper to it. You will sleep way better!

I would like to be driving an engine electronics free, the old school is able to reach 800K - 1.1M miles without a rebuild. Nowadays even a Detroit engine has some problems and it cost a lot of money for the truck drivers. It damages their pocket easily.

Unfortunately The DEF systems have ruined the drivetrain reliability aspect of today’s trucks. I agree with you, I would’ve loved to run the “Ole Skool” way🤑
