For me it's defo the less powerful bikes that are way more fun but for a big bike like this it defiantly is very easy to ride even in the ass end of no where.
I had a few Blackbirds and a Hayabusa in the early 2000s, been on ADV bikes recently but really miss that power. Thanks for sharing I may have a ride down to Suzuki when they get one in.
I have owned my Gen 3 Hayabusa for a year now, and it is my 6th Hayabusa. Most of the journey's I do are Warwickshire to West Dorset and back, and for these 400+ mile days on mostly motorway and A roads the bike excels. A steady 70mph will return as good as 50mpg which I reckon is pretty decent. Comfort is exceptional for me (I am 5'10") and I generally stop once to fill up on the way there, and stop twice on my way back, once for fuel, once for a 5 minute leg stretch. We all know how fast it is, and how quickly it takes off, but its party piece has to be its rate of propulsion from 70mph...indeed it defies all logic and scrambles the senses.... The cruise control is a very necessary addition for what is essentially a sports-touring bike, although I do find the stock screen directs wind blast right to the opening of my visor which means above 20mph the visor must stay closed. Brakes are excellent thank god, (the brakes on my first gen 1 were frighteningly poor). Massive fun on sweeping bends, but you'll almost certainly be left behind on the tighter turns.....but get back on a straight and there's no other bike like it. Still draws plenty of attention, and overall I would definitely recommend these fabulous machines to anyone who has a disciplined right wrist...
I played cyberpunk and get your point. Just bought one of these and my kid brother said ‘wow looks like a cyberpunk bike’. so there you go. Had the gen 2 for years and loved it and demod a gen 3 and loved it. More torque in the midrange even though the peak power is down. I don’t tend to drive at 180 mph so I don’t mind that.
You think 1340cc (82ci) would give you good performance in car form? Roughly deduct 1hp for every 10lbs added to your car build. I see Toyota Carollas smoking you.
In my opinion I love the model in this video. Please don’t hold it against me disagreeing with the rider. My first sport bike was the 84 Galaxy silver GPz550A1. Wasn’t bad for a 23 year old in 1984.
I can't tell for sure. But the 3rd generation bike seems to have a jet turbine sound to it, which is absolutely beautiful sounding. I am wondering if the 3rd Gen bike is smoother with less vibration? I feel like maybe the 3rd Gen engine is more refined.
1978 ,,, Years ago I beat the Suzuki GS 1000 with my Honda CBX 1000! 😎 Now 43 years later, I would like to walk up to a Suzuki Hayabusa gen 3/21 and feel it float on my cadence ... It has been ordered, it will be a white, as white as my face when "he" is flying with me! You can count on that! 👍Perfect all that, the wait will seem long now.......... but no problem I still have a few waiting who want to drive 🤩 - / - 🙏Great review 👍Thanks for sharing
@@nitroxdeano Absolutely it's worth it. For me really after so many years I discover a motorcycle that you don't sit on ... but you do sit in it, nice and fast cornering. Great motorcycle. I still have a lot to learn and feel. It's a completely different motorcycle than I'm used to!
I really kinda want this. I've always been a bit of a busa fanboy, and now that I have the means to afford one, I don't really have the space, too many bikes at the moment. I loved the gen1, the gen2 was "eh" aesthetics wise - looked bloated, weird cluster, but the engine refinement was nice. This really does best of both worlds. It's really good aesthetics wise - sorta a cross between the g1 and g2, then the cluster looks sorta like the one from the g2 but it's not shitty. . Hmm, maybe I'll pick one up in 5 years when the depreciation edge wears off and I hopefully have some more garage space.
@@spicy110 No worries lol, just curious. I've never tried one personally so I would naturally go to use the clutch too. You can always give it a go next time. : )
Sitting watching hayabusa reviews over the last month and then decided to take my gen 2 for a spin yesterday and ended up at a dealers and immediately sat on the gen 3✌🏻🦅...............and I love it. However I was talked out of part exchanging my gen 2 by my m8 and even one of the sales reps, £16.5k is to much. What I'm pissed off with is these u tubers pottering around doing reviews of a bike that is NOT designed to potter around on😤, get real and ride it properly, motorways, long dual roads and autobahns with the rev counter and Speedo bouncing of the limiter, and cruising at 130 with rucksack and tank bag one handed😁
This is a street bike NOT a track bike. Why do people say that it needs to be on the track to show its performance? This bike is designed to be an all round STREET riding package, comfortable, powerful motorcycle capable of pillioning in relative comfort compared to anything out the thats sporty. Hot?? What are you talking about. I owned three Hayabusa’s and many many other bikes through my life and never experienced the heat that your talking about. I live in Australia and could confidently say its more extreme here in Summer then where your from. IF you want to know whats hot to ride get a Ducati 999 with under seat exhaust then you can say its hot to ride. It’s annoying listening to reviews where inexperienced riders comment on the car/ bike/ whatever without really knowing what their talking about.
Sir the speed limit is 70mph....so where would you like us to test second gear? As for heat, I rode the old one and it was one of the hottest bikes I have ever ridden. I have ridden a lot of bikes, what more can I say?
I'm nearly sold... Replace my 96 SRAD... & my other bikes on Ebay... Still got my KTM 390 Adventure for bubbling around on... In a good way... Lucky & Happy.
I'd love to take the Gen 3 for a spin, I've got Richard Hammonds old Gen 2 and I absolutely love it! I always come home grinning from ear to ear 😃 I've never ridden a bike with ABS let alone all the other rider aids, it would be interesting to see the difference.
@@muckle8 I ended up riding one last year for a Gen 2 Vs Gen 3 comparison for MCN last year, I liked it but not enough to trade mine in, also found the rider aids a bit pointless.
wow,you bought the provenance, for what its worth, hope you didnt pay over the odds,i had the gen 1,1999,have not been on the newer versions,i want to come back....,what do you think?
Timestamp 23:21. Look how much lower the Busa handlebars are compared to the yellow V-Strom adventure bike in the background! For me, and only me, it's a no-go decision.
Too heavy for me. I had a new 97 Blackbird. I found it a nuisance and a struggle lugging it around - parking (where the chain can reach a pole or something ) - backing out of spots etc etc. Even though I was an ex- m/c courier and had loads of experience and reasonably "bike fit". This bike would suit those men of larger frame - you know 15 stone plus (200lbs/95kgs) all muscle. If you're not hercules and you still want one you have to consider parking it where you can get out without a full body workout! -- - backing one 6 feet up a slope is harder than you think (leave the side stand down and drag it!) I got a GSXR1000 now - same rush, less weight....less comfort maybe...and I am 24years older!
I’ll stick to my old zzr1100 d7. Cheap as chips, goes like stink, comfortable and won’t lose any money on it when I sell it. Well happy with the old girl.
As a reviewer I tend not to look at bikes that way, For me this bike is the polar opposite of what I ride myself, I could say the same for anything over about 600cc. My passion bike is my DRZ400SM, I also have a Yamaha XJ6 to cover the stuff the DR is not good at and when the DR is broken....as it is atm haha
20 years ago they made more sense. Nowadays with more congestion, bad roads, poor drivers, average speed cameras and normal speed cameras everywhere I’m not sure anymore. I owned Gen 1 & 2 BTW so do like em. Plenty of bikes outperform it now anyhow if that’s your thing.
You should try and pull away in 6th 🤣😂 done it once not too long after getting on my big bike ...... I thought the bike had broken #AmazingClutchControl
I think if you can be disciplined, then these bikes can be great for munching the miles, but then that is also not the point of these mental bikes, they want to be spanked, but you just can't do so on the road safely. You are bang on that the orange/black is the best option.
Fairly new to the channel mate but I'm steadily getting through your back catalogue of content. I'm hoping to get back on two wheels soon, never got to full licence but rode for about 6 years on cbts lol I'm 6' 4" too so seeing your reaction to bikes helps a lot. I'm going to go direct access this time so I think I'll skip the 125s this time. Think I'll give the busa a miss for now too though, but beautiful piece of kit.
Like most dashes, you as a user will have to occasionally lower your eyes ever so slightly to see the dash.....its all explained in the owners manual. I'm just kidding buddy. The camera will always cut off your view in some way while your mind stitches the space together in your mind. If your under 6foot 10 inches you will see them just fine.
I own a gen 2012 ,special only300. Units made in cherry red in that year gen2 a rocket200 mph. 1988bp Dino full Yoshi engin tune can header pipes quick shift power commander all bell whistles my baby yes I'm a bike junki shoes mad an old age from a young man maybe I was born back when life Wes nice I make the most off the passion of my life One hundred bikes off all types off bikes one therty in total ride safe all be free keep the black stuff on the road and be blessed a see you on the road my friend and true family
Good review but was there something wrong with the quick shifter and blooper as you always used the clutch and changed gear the old school way?? Cheers
For the last 10 years I have wanted a busa ... But I know I would lose my license or be dead asap ... Lucky I know I'm too immature not to use a bikes power ... Will stick with my 650 sv.🤣
Timestamp 20:33. You are going 70mph @ 7,000rpm in 3rd gear. As a point of reference, My Gen 2 FJR w/5-speed transmission is clipping along at 90mph at 7,000rpm in 3rd gear. My redline is 9,000-11,000rpm. Your 4th gear is probably equivalent to my 3rd at the same rpm. On the Interstate hwy in USA, when I am in 3rd, Nobody has ever passed me.
I'm not sure what it is or what it's for, too sporty for a 2 up tourer and too heavy for a top sports bike, looks better than previous versions, if you squint you can see a shadow of K4 Gixer thou up front, and a hint of SRAD750 at the rear there, talking of which imagine if Suzuki had put a Hayabusa engine in an SRAD, now that would be something!!!
I get the whole you think your way is right and all that stereotype, but how is it dangerous? How is driving on a mirrored road system with car with the wheel on the other side any different? Updated this one got me thinking so I did my research. Driving on the left is inherently safer than the right as most people are right handed meaning they can use their dominant hand to change gear. (We use manuals in the uk way more than autos) might be time to rethink your feelings on the subject. 👍
Yes I much prefer 400-600cc bikes, but that's just my personal choise. I totally get larger cc bikes like this just not something that flicks my switches the same.
Watching you cover the clutch lever constantly is setting my OCD off. I just don’t get why you’d do it. Hey ho. Nice bike. Fat and unnecessary but a laugh nonetheless.
I assume you are new to my channel? If you mean my hand resting on the bar and clutch it's because I have nerve damage in my hand from a crash and lent offer bikes like this make it hurt more than normal after a while.
I respectfully disagree sir. The first busa is a classic and did not age all. Second one was terrible. This one looks like Samsung microwave. Not bad but too much unnecessary shiny bling. But of course looks are completely subjective. Also I’m not sure what is the point of this bike. It’s not the most powerful, not the fastest, not the most comfortable ... it’s just big.
It's a busa no one can ever agree haha 😉 disagree away, we all have different opinions and I can only go off my small exapeince of the 2016 bike. This is why my reviews and first rides are not from the prospective of comparison and what it isn't but what it is. It was a nice bike to ride around but it's a Busa at the end of the day and comes with all the oddities that some love and some hate. For me the biggest question is what is it for, however I asked the same of the second.
@@rolandsv8 I never said it wasn't distinctive, it's certainly that. There is one angle that makes it easier to look at, that's if it's on one side of a very big wall and you're on the other. I wouldn't call the R1 generic at all, the design has changed, but that said, a first generation R1 would still be a much nicer looking bike than a third generation Hayabusa.
