Chris has been on the UK launch of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa. On the road, top speed run on a runway and check out the 140mph wheelie at the end ✊✊✊ #Suzuki #Hayabusa #wheelie
Chris Northover is by far the best motorcycle journalist and tester. He knows how to give you the actual information you need to know about the bikes without declaiming the manufacturer's same stuff as other motorcycle journalists do. Also, he is funny and charismatic just a joy to watch his reviews.
Top comment in that it makes 110mph feel like 50mph. I bought my first Busa in 2001 and thats exactly the reaction I had then. I couldn't believe how fast I was actually going. Fortunately, I also couldn't believe how fast the brakes stopped the bike, otherwise I would have definitely been in the bushes on the first ride. Good to hear it still has that same impact.
Just love Chris's reviews, even when they are on bikes that really don't fit my interest. His genuine enthusiasm for all things motorcycling just draws you in to whatever it is he is talking about. Great work Chris, the other journos can't touch you!

10-4 Driver! Twist that grip, big son! I'm over 60 and it looks like by the time I have a desire for an adventure bike I'm going to end up needing one of those three wheel tricycle motorcycles.
Great review and totally on point. I have a 2013 'Busa after having owned several sport bikes. It gives you the thrill of speed like a sport bike, but it's larger and more comfortable. When I ride with my small group, we typically do 400-500 mile days, which is no problem. It corners MUCH better than people think, especially with some sticky Dunlop Sport Max tires. If wind buffeting (and the law) weren't a concern, you really could ride this bike at 120-140 mph all day long. I've owned quite a handful of bikes in my life, but the 'Busa is by far my favorite. It does everything well.
Agreed, this man is a professional level rider who can push these bikes to their limits and really demonstrate their capabilities. So much better than these MC bloggers putting around on them and spewing fluff.
Recognized the nervous laugh at the end after you do something half scary/ half crazy with your bike (thankfully this time in a controlled environment)
This bike features designs for safety, reliability and durability. But the top speed is not really fast as previous hayabusa, but still it has great acceleration for drag race than the old one.
Thing other reviewers don't seem to get is that we want to know what it FEELS like to ride the bike. Not go over the spec sheet. Brilliant review, felt like a mini-movie!
I'd buy one in a heartbeat !! Thank God they had the sense to keep the analogue dials rather than put a stupid LCD panel with everything stupid digital. I love how it looks bulky and full and it actually has plenty of styling. Most other modern bikes are getting to thin, too light, too small, and loaded with stupid gadgets. Time to go back to the glory years of motorcycles !!!

@@Showmetheevidence- Nothing wrong with Carburetors my friend. All the best bikes in history had them and most are worth a fortune today. These modern bikes won't be collectable, rather more like white goods. They look shit, out of proportion and lack the soul the older gen bikes did. These rider aids are a bad thing too. Doesn't allow you to learn to ride properly without all this Nanny State controls kicking in. I would bet money someone who never got to ride an older bike, say from the 90's, who only rode a modern pussy bike, would most likely kill themselves on the older bike. We never had traction control, ABS, lift control and all that other malarkey. We learned to ride like Men. My 2001 ZX9R is a Carburetor bike, with no rider aids and it's a joy to ride.
I own the anniversary model . I’ve had three prior to that .. I’ve experienced everything you said and much more but to hear the commentary put in such a way brought my great big grin out thinking of how much fun they all have been ! Thanks for the review and my memory’s coming out ..
Am 72 and bought my first Hayabusa. Have owned many bikes from ZX14, to recently bought a 2023 Triumph Rocket 3R. I love this bike. It it smooth and crazy at the same time
Yes! Been waiting for this! Edit: Great review as always, I don't think I'm in the target demo for the big busa but you have to respect Suzuki for keeping the bike alive. It's certainly filling a new position of the biking world than it's predecessor but I think it's settled in quite nicely and it's great to see it get a proper update after all this time.
5:48 Perfect description. I own a matte silver/candy red one and that's how I feel about it. It's not like my '06 ZX-10R, which always feels anxious and on the verge. It's not a calming ride at all. The new 'Busa is nice even going slow and doesn't feel boring. It's such a different vibe. Warp speed is available at any moment, but it's not required to have an enjoyable ride. The Ninja going slow always tempts me to go fast. It's such a contrasting experience, always teetering on the edge of suspense in any gear.
I think I fit the target market perfectly. Thanks for the great review. I think Suzuki nailed it. Improve on a legendary bike, without destroying what fundamentally made it legendary.
Subscribed instantly.. Sensible review.. straight to d point that what it meant to be ... Even Suzuki did not explain nor cared to explain.. You cleared tha doubt perfectly👍
Great review Chris, Fantastic looking machine, always admired the Hyabusa having owned a Blackbird and currently running a K1300S. Suzuki have sharpened up the looks, perhaps my next machine unless Honda have a rethink, I doubt if they will. Look forward to more of your posts👍🏻
Chris, excellent vid Buddy! Descriptive narration was spot on with cool dry humor, most enjoyable video I've heard in a long time, you're a natural Chris. I subscribed just mainly to hear you put your two cents in, brilliant.
A proper mental bike for a proper mental rider, with enough selfcontrol not to be a lunatic. You obviously fit the requirements to ride one of these mate! :) Bang on review, enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing the passion.
Had a Gen 2 Busa for 7 years and it was one hell of a machine. It could pull a tank down the road! But in the end, the clip on bar riding position got too much for my bad back so had to trade her in for a more upright bike. But what a great 7 years I had! This new model looks really nice. More angular in places but undeniably a Busa. The legend lives on!!!
Best review of the Busah by a country 0.8 mile. Really appreciate the way you summarise the distinct qualities and what niche the bikes you review fit into. I also notice you kept it pinned to the second line on the strip! 😯 🎩 👍. Many thanks. G.
Great review. The child in me (at 69 years old) really wants a Hayabusa, .... but my knees say no thanks. My current bike's a '88 Katana 1100 where the riding position looks pretty similar and the steep bend in the knees with me being 6'1" feels too cramped at times. I think I'm almost at that adventure bike age now. ;)
Makes my old 2001 'Busa seem "a touch" crude. I could have used some of those electronics back when I owned it. Nice bike, great test, as always. My go-to favourite bike channel/bike tester, hands down.😎
I’ve worked in the bike industry for a fair while and only just stumbled across Chris and his unique style of motorcycle review!! This was Epic and I found myself hooked, even though I don’t want to purchase this Hayabusa! 😂 Brilliant review Chris, loving the way conduct your videos! 👌
That giddy laugh @5:30 hit home. I would have been nervously laughing because I almost messed up and went off course. And the wheelies are amazing! You got skills. This Busa may be the best looking yet. It’s gorgeous in photos. It’s just a damn shame they didn’t drop the weight. Weight matters everywhere and it’s just too damn heavy!
Good sensible review and quite accurate in your description I think. I have a Gen II and can allude to the performance and your review. Nice to see you give Suzuki the credit it’s due. All the other reviews or tests before actually RIDING it are unfair and misleading Thanks for the video 👍
7:00 I am a child of 67 years old! Years ago I beat every GS 1000 with my Honda CBX 1000! 😎 Now 43 years later I would like to walk over to the Hayabusa 21 and feel it flutter on my cadence... It has been ordered before July 😢 it will be a white, so white as my face when HE flies with me... You can count on that! I Another great and original review, thanks! 👍
What a fantastic review mate, I was smiling throughout! I love that you said it’s a naughty bike in a sophisticated dress! I’m not done with my sports bike phase yet but in a few years potentially I might head this way. I saw one on the road yesterday and since then my interest has been piqued, it looked spectacular and sounded special!
When the Hyabusa first hit the streets, it was an absolute snarling, fire spewing, beast. It was the fastest street bike ever made at the time. Now this new one is just another pretty face in the crowd. I kind of expected more outrageous performance not less.
So a much, much faster version of my '95 ZX-7. I'm 48, been riding nothing but sportbikes for over 25 years (started on dual sports). Think it might be time for something like this with a couple of hard bags on it.
Oh my!! They put themselves out to pasture young in your neck of the woods. I returned to bikes aged 41, bought a Triumph 900 Thunderbird Sport, recently turned 61 now own a Yamaha FZ1-S Custom. Now whilst that's a fun throw around for a quick blast, I'm buying Kawasaki ZZ-R 1400 Performance Sport for the more serious stuff. I'm not saying I won't cruise with it, in fact average speed camera's will almost guarantee that, but I'll still be blowing off cobwebs whenever it's safe to do so 😉
I went to full dressers at 29 started riding cross country and wanted to do it with gps radio heated grips etc. A 14hr day on a Hayabusa doesn't sound fun anymore neither does a reckless driving charge.
@@rogerburns8478 I did consider the new Goldwing but at £30,000, for that kind of money I could get a second hand mobile home and have a kitchen, shower and beds as well
@@rogerburns8478 same. Started with super sports in my teens and ended up on a cruiser by 30. No regrets. Besides, every once in a while my buddy and I trade bikes for the weekend if I need a speed fix and he wants to cruise somewhere with his lady.
To all naysayers and pessimists: You only live once - you might just as well enjoy it! Do not hybernate doubts or excuses like price, or “may be later". Get the Hayabusa and live it. Live Your LIFE.
Everything he said, is what they said about the Gen I. A lot of weight, but you don't notice when it's rolling. I still have my 2000... got it down to about 480lbs. Had a Gen II as well for a few years, but kept the original. Now, about who it appeals to? I was 47 yrs old, and had 14 years of a Gixxer, when I bought the "cult" Busa. The most perfect, easy bike to ride. Handles impeccably. I don't think I'm too old at 68 to love the 3rd incarnation. (And get a lowered seat.) Oh, and I'm a little old lady with two Corvettes...and have owned over 30 bikes, but the Busa is a keeper.
