i love that you emphasize more affordable products instead of these ridiculous IG reels that talk about their newborn "must haves" where they mention a $2000 bassinet.
Yes, the nurses did a demonstration on how to bathe our newborn and sent us home with the tub as well. But with our first who was delivered in another hospital, that wasn't the case.
New mom here and I will also share my experience. 1. Sound machine is nice to have but not really needed. 2. Great to have but you won’t need for quite a few weeks. 3. Baby nail file works great as well. 4. Aquaphor is amazing for diaper rashes. Keep your little one’s diapers dry and a quality diaper to really help prevent the need for diaper rash treatment. 5. Nose Frida may not work depending on your baby’s size. It was too big for my little one’s nose. Pediatrician suggested waiting until 6 months for the Frida version. 6. Highly recommend! 7. I prefer the plastic tubs that go in the kitchen sink. It’s easier on your back and quicker to get baby out. 8. Get the ones with a bassinet and diaper changing station. It’s only a bit more money, but you will get great usage out of it. 9. Socks drive me crazy. Will definitely try these out! 10. This is a great idea! My little one didn’t like Philips so we had to switch to Dr. Browns.
@@jadedjourneys do you have data on the number of deaths from nursing covers? I find it hard to believe that your baby would suffocate when you are feeding him/her.
We just had our little girl two weeks ago. We have a few of these items and I’m 100% behind the nose Frida especially, they also have a weak saline solution that helps if there are crusty bits. I WISH we had the bottle box in the U.K. My husband and I are in a battle of Comotomo v Mam, lucky baby takes both but her parents are more picky😅
The babylist bottle sampler is a superb try. Dr Brown was wastefully all in, then found out the Avent system with the varying nipple flow became the true go to (and Spectra pump flange friendly)
That exact nail trimmer is everything. Better than going lazy/timid route of mittens which inhibit developmental progress by decreasing tactile abilities. Also those Avent (Natural) bottles are the way to go, just line up the anti colic vent in the nipple to the indentation in the collar for perfect air pressure relief to decrease issues of colic. The texture and density of the natural line of Avent nipple/bottles with their varying flow rates are the best options on the market for bottle feeding. The MAM bottles with the silicone bottom valve are probably the best anti colic pressure design but cleaning up the various pieces are a hassle and not a viable option with a demanding baby that needs their feeding immediately after waking.
What works good for some babies, it is a total failure for others. Instead of buying all these things, perhaps borrow whatever you can, or buy secondhand. Try it first to see if your baby likes it and see if it works for the both of you. If it doesn’t, at least you didn’t spend so much money.
Baby Frida nasal thing is disgusting 🤢.. I instead go a nasal cleaning tool from pigeon .. way way less disgusting does not involve you sucking on anything ..
Have you tried the new electric nose frida? I’m seeing mixed reviews. Not that I have an issue with sucking the snot out of my kids, but I thought it was interesting!
Very underpowered I guess for safety , worked good on very loose runny mucus but the reservoir is so small it’s not worth it. The og nose sucker is better all around. Easier to clean , better seal for suction and control , giant reservoir.
Man...I wish I knew about some of these products when my toddler was a newborn. I always find new and interesting things on your channel. Very informative content as always.
So happy you recommended those squid socks! We went to the zoo yesterday and our little girl kept taking hers off! I just purchased them and I can’t wait to put them on her
First, I didn't like the idea of having an electric nail trimmer and go through the nail clipper I accidentally clipped my son's finger 😢 today, I'm gonna buy that and some of the essentials from this video! Thanks! Watchung from Philippines!
Sorry if this is a stupid question but do you know of resources for moms? I love that you promote resources for new dads but I am struggling to find resources for myself. I definitely still look into the resources you recommend for dad's! Thanks for all that you do!
Could you do a review on the new dream sock and just highlight the differences in the app and alerting? I really can’t find much info on how they work now other than the websites description which is quite short and I’d love to actually be able to see it in use
When I was pregnant everyone was like oh you’ve got to get a pack and play. When she was small we would just put her in her uppababy bassinet when we where down stair for her nap. Once she was able to sit up and started playing we tried using the pack and play and it was a complete nightmare. My kid hated it, literally cried until we would take her out of there. Luckily for us my uncle gave me the one my cousin used so I at least I saved myself some money in that one.
Thanks for all the great videos - they've all been super helpful as an upcoming first time dad. Had a hard time finding the Joovy Playard for that price and I think that's the version for dolls actually! Thanks again for everything!
Knowing how rough our bottles were treated as our littles got older and using it a lot while on-the-go or traveling, I think plastic is better suited for everyday life and I personally think it outweighs the benefits that glass could offer.
Not under 50, but I would say if you you can spend 50 more on a stroller that has a bassinet option, go for it! My kid is just shy of 2 weeks old and the Graco Modes Nest has been awesome! We have a cushion for him to sleep on the couch when in the living room, but instead I was trying out the bassinet option. Ended up putting him in there to go around the house while he sleeps when we do dishes, laundry and all that. Yes, we have a video baby monitor and a halo bassinet in the bedroom. But it's just nice to have an option where we don't need to pick him up and put him down or walk across the house to put him down. I'm super happy with that investment.
I second this we used the bassinet from our UppaBaby stroller as our “downstairs” bassinet and it was so useful. She was in there up until almost 4 months.
Man clipping nails was so scary the first time I clipped his skin even trying so hard not to and I freaked out, he didn't even care lol I was freaked out when he was just like ouch and that's it.
Like the video! But You shouldn’t use the nose tool to unblock their nose, they could get easily and infection and it’s not safe to use in children, there is other way we can clear and blow their nose
