With 26.5kmpl and 0-100kmph in 10 seconds is the Honda City e:HEV the best of both worlds? And is that worth the Rs 5 lakh premium Honda is expected to charge over the regular i-VTEC City?
Its costly, would be comfortable to pay if efficiency would be around 30-32 kmpl. Because look at the petrol price shell petrol 124.56₹/ ltr. So higher efficiency is necessary.
One more trick to save fuel.. Buy used honda city with 10 lakh limit..very good unit will get with that amount.. Remaining 10 lakh put in fd.. With that interest put petrol.. This interest money is ur additional milage..every month u will receive 5k as interest.. If you travel 1000 km in a month.. U need 66LT with 15kmpl..44 LT u got from interest.. Remaining 22 LT from ur pocket.. Which translates to 45 milage.. With 2000 km per month the milage will come to 22 kmpl..
Honda City is an aspirational car for many in India. Would says it's a poormans Mercedes. Its now become better with launch of Hybrid e:HEV with fantastic fuel efficiency Sedan. Best of both world Petrol & electric = Hybrid at an Affordable price. Aur kya chaiye bhai. If priced well it might rule the segment inspite of German Twins launch Slavia & Virtus. It was always the most Reliable Sedan of India. Great job Honda.
Good review. Just a suggestion, music vol is too loud than voice volume. I feel it should be at same level. Music vol and voice vol difference is literally at the level of irritation.
what do you mean by zero emissions? that's a big slip of the tongue my friend. we can say reduced emissions. the battery is charged only by burning petrol
Wud really love to see a real world Economy test of this Honda vs the upcoming VW virtus 1.0 tsi..and w.r.t pricing and features too we cud have quite a showdown.....
Great work as usual. Seems we will have the honeymoon period for hybrids for sometime (till say 2026) before EVs annihilate them. Hope this is not a Fortuner rival (hope you get the drift; hint: Jeep Meridian) :P
Might be the bridge to the future and all but to me it sounds like the car is coasting in neutral and the engine is being revved. So it's a no nonsense boring car with great mileage. I would say it is an older gentleman car where you just sit and drive and don't bother about the mileage.
Honda may be waiting for the feedback from Media Review drives to price it to be a hit. So, idea should be that you should be evaluating it lesser, may be 16.99 Lakhs, so that, all of us can buy it :-D
Should have chose a flat road for the video! That said, the city hybrid is the perfect car for urban apartment folks like us for whom setting a charge point for a BEV is difficult. Not a stepping stone to a BEV, this is better than BEV to me! Great that Honda thought out of the box and brought in this proper hybrid instead of a BEV! 👍🏼
Very complex engineering for India . In case of any failure of 1 single sensor, the owner needs to take the car to Japan for servicing. Also simpler Engg, hats off to MS Celerio gives 27.1 kmpl for just 5 lakhs.. why spend 25 -30 lakhs???
Safety, driving pleasure, premium feel, technology, features etc. and it’s a sedan. By your logic there should have been no other segments of cars than a hatch back which runs with thin metal sheet churning out just mileage.
Just think City Budget 20 lakh + 2.5 lakh bank loan interest for City + 1.5 lakh running odo (9 lakh) + 1 lakh periodic maintenance = approx 34 lakh Vs Celerio Top end 7 lakh + 1 lakh bank loan interest+ 1.5 lakh odo running ( 9lakh)+ 50k periodic maintenance= Approx 19 lakh Difference 15 lakh i will use that for Force Gurkha r SUV whatever... Honda City Ehev is a waste of money
They should have added the feature of charging the battery externally like they do in plug-in hybrids.... so you can run the pure ev mode in city without even turning on the petrol generator, and when on the long distance it can be used the same way its being used now ...
I don't know about the rumours, but this doesn't look like a tight slap to anything. This being a lifestyle vehicle won't bring in the numbers and Honda might still leave the market down the line. They are only riding on the City and Amaze and they need to come up with more models. Do they have new launches lined up for the next 2-3 years?
@Abhinav Singh everyone assumes a company leaving if they have no new updates now here is honda bringing something new this means they will bring some more in future like a suv or crossover
@@Moonlight-hq3gi Everyone assumes so because that's how it works. Even the VW group brands (you mentioned Škoda) would have left if not for the twin launches. Honda is luckily not there yet, but I hope they bring in 4-5 models which should ideally include a compact SUV. Maybe they can co-develop a hatchback with another manufacturer and thus bring in a volume model.
Yeah, paying all the supposed future fuel savings upfront to Honda makes sense.. This brand is greedy.. In fact Japanese brands in India do the opposite of what they are known for around the world. When it comes to govt. They are just interested in Taxes and labour opportunities to please the masses. No value for the finer aspects of the motoring world.
@@ntr500 not sure bout that one but the way he is driving would probably qualify as rash driving. On turns he comes to the right side. One must stay on the left side even on turns.
my god the car is loud. and the engine revving on its own while maintaining same speed felt very irritating. Imagine the engine howling for no reason while you are driving at 40kmph..
Conclusion: Another premium petrol car with better mileage. Who cares if it is hybrid or not.... You cannot charge it externally..... You cannot start without petrol.

By the way. Honda just launched honda civic 11th gen honda civic turbo(latest) range of variants in Pakistan. Here we get amaze wrv and city ,jazz has also discontinued..Why honda is doing this to india ? Kya honda indians ko pakistani se zyada greeb samjh rahi hai. ?
Bro indian peoples will like to buy tin ka dabba not the standard Honda that's why they will neatly study about indian market and they will definitely launch new cars according to Indian scenarios

The above comment will make no sense if you see every big car is a full import in Pak, Indian govt forces every manufacturer to build or at least assemble cars in India and that's a great strategy. After all, India is a big exporter of cars by Mahindra, Kia/Hyundai, MS and VW/Skoda
Pak is only left with civic and that also imported and not locally manufactured wow..in India civic was there for a very long time and last one also got discontinued
With Honda's track record they will charge the maximum amount of money they can. Most manufacturers would try to introduce a new tech with a lower price point. But Honda has the most insensible marketing strategy in India
