VR is a good engine mostly reliable too. Gets overshadowed by the the BMW inline 6 turbo engines, but the VR is a great great value plus the Q50 and Q60 look damn good. Too bad no one offers a trans tune or shift kit for the Jatco 7 speed they use.
@@e46m54nissansr20937 they are working on a Transmission Tune as we speak. A bit delayed, but it’s coming. With a tune from Racebox, it really brings to life the potential of the VR30 & the transmission shifts faster & firmer as well @ WOT. My fastest 1/4 is 11.2 on an AWD Q60 RS w/ no weight reduction on E30. Curious to see what she does once I take her to E50. Looking to break into the 10’s on stock turbos 🤞🤞🤞 Go Racebox‼️
The transmission is fine bro. Especially wen tuners turn up the line pressure. They shift fast don’t let no one tell u it shifts slow. I’m a vr owner and I drive multiple cars and the 7 speed still up to par
What's so special about this channel is sam and the team show details that we don't normally get to see! Love it and this is my first time seeing Jag race tbh
@@Eugen-E According to Car & Driver, Q60 RS weighs 3866 ibs and the S4 weighs 3928 ibs!! So, it is the Audi which is the heavier car not Infiniti. Audi may or may not be underrated but if you think Infiniti exactly produces the claimed 400 hp, you are wrong! Japanese have long been famous for underrating their cars. Based on dyno runs, stock Q60 RS develops around 370 hp at the wheels which translates to around 440 - 450 hp at crank. Of course, different dynos and different results but most of them reveal the fact that this engine is underrated.
@@Messergebnis-liebhaber Germans underrate their cars. Almost all japanese turbocharged cars make what they officially say they make. Put the q60 and the s4 on the same dyno you will see s4 makes the same hp 🙂 He said q60 is heavier.
@@Eugen-E He said but he is wrong. Car & Driver had weighed both cars on the same scale and the Audi has been heavier. I disagree that almost all Japanese make their rated power and also disagree that all German cars are underrated. I have seen many Porsche models that produced their rated powers. In fact, most turbocharged vehicles are somehow underrated because of heat soak issue. In this case, there is no denying that the Audi is performing much better (less > more). Another example is Mazda 6 Turbo MPS and BMW 328i F30. Edmunds has dynoed both cars (same dyno) and Mazda had more power and also less weight but BMW could beat it in a drag race because BMW has much wider torque curve and a much better transmission with less drivetrain loss.
@@Messergebnis-liebhaber that's BS because the F30 has a fast 8 speed transmission. Put an 8spd ZF on that Mazda and if Mazda makes more HP it will be faster. You are very stupid if you think germans break the lows of physics and if you say an 8spd auto has less drivetrain loss than an 6spd manual. Bullshit. Have seen tons of dyno runs with drivetrain loss measurement, they all have the same transmission loss if it's the same type, regardless of manufacturer. And yeah, almost all modern turbo Porsches also underrate their engine power. The GT2 RS 992 makes ~700 crank HP even if they say 650. You disagree because you didn't see them on the dynos. 90% of turbocharged german cars make more power than advertised. Which is not the case with japanese turbocharged cars.
Awesome video Sam. I see you added the 0 to 60 times of each cars. It was indeed a close race. Kudos to you Sam and hope your channel grows even more. Cheers mate!!!
@@Eugen-E Not, is not. 13sec in definitely NOT a good time for anything but @350bhp awd. Then about "lightest".. 🤣.. biggest BULLSHIT i've never heard. Your 100pounds means for the rest of the planet and for any student.. some 45kilos!!! How many races you won because you dropped 40kg, in range of 350-450bhp awd cars? 🤣. By the way, those weights are the communicated/claimed BY MANUFACTURERS of cars, which can vary A LOT in real products, not to mention about some design modifications, options added or some aftermarket exhaust.
Can you do the Infiniti Q60 Redsport vs Lexus RC-F? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we've seen them matched up before on any RU-vid channel.
@@jimwallace4164 sadly most Q owners are getting rid of theres. I had a 2018 Q60 RS, bolt ons, tuned it on E and put bigger turbos though out the years I owned it but I was still getting beat by cars with less HP. The transmission is ass on these Q’s😢 such a beautiful looking car that had so much potential. They should of updated the transmission a while back.
That Nissan 7 speed AT is old tech and is kinda slow to respond and shift. Also there isn't good laucnh control like you get on the Audi. The car is also the heaviest of the three.
Good racing that day Sam. Worked out having Staz pop by with the new stock S4, made this odd race that much more compelling and fun to watch. At least I didn't get beat as badly as when you had the 575bhp yellow Jag FType R!
Audi torque is true torque because of Quattro. Quattro puts down all the torque, that's why even if we don't have the horsepower, off the line, we're gonna dust you before your HP catches up to us and passes us. So in real world launches like at stop lights, we can seem faster getting to the next stop light lol😂😂😂 you won't have enough room for your HP to kick in
Maybe you could add the specs of each car (ie HP/tq, weight, engine and tranny type, etc) written on-screen during the introduction? Would be nice to see the specs, in addition to talking about them. Thanks for the races.
Ftype R coupes are gorgeous. If those maintenance bills werent so terrifying, id have a jag. Oh, and if there were actual shops around me that could work on them if needed. Nice job, Sam
@@Sickwitit18 had the chance to hear both f type and F pace SVRs back to back and I must say the Ftype sounds better. Similar, but Jag definitely dialed back sounds after 2017-2018
The guy in the Q60 isn’t shfiting it properly. Granted i get that the 7 spd auto in the infiniti doesn’t shift as quick as the zf 8 spd both the s4 and f type has but he could’ve shifted it at 6.9k and actually get the shift at 7.2k rpm😬 @Sam if you ever need a driver, give me a call.😅
That's my thoughts, I don't get why ppl short shift. A lot of ppl say shifting at 6500-6600 is best in the VR, but I got 4.6s 0-60 & 12.99 1/4 mile shifting at 7k-7100 in a stock Luxe. I don't think I would've got those times shifting at 6500-6600.
Reliability isn't the issue in my opinion failure to regularly and properly maintain them is. I owe 5 cars two of which I bought brand new a 2013 A6, a 2017 A7 , a 2018 RS7 (new) and a 2020 Jaguar F-type R (new). Earlier F-types did have issues with hood vents getting water into the engine conpartments, issues with a defective supercharger pulley and the malfunctioning of that cool center A/C vent but were corrected in latter versions. Ive never had any major issues with my cars but I acredit it to keeping up with the maintenance. The 5th car? A 2000 Toyota Avalon XLS my "ride or die" whip. I don't care if I'm in the middle of a hurricane, haven't driven it in a year or driving across the Sahara it refuses to let me down.
Remember those reactions are real time in the moment, viewers get the benefit of seeing the video footage after the fact. At 200kph - in real time, while driving, the three cars looked very close.
What’s crazy is we say the Jaguar is heavy at 4,000lbs with a supercharged V8 and AWD, but then there is the true heavy weight in the Lexus LC500 at 4,300 lbs, no awd or supercharger. Just fat
I raced an older Ftype R a year or so back and it was door to door with me until 80ish when it started walking away. If memory serves I did a 3.6 to 60 against him... is this new Type R model level thing new? I thought they only came in R and SVR flavors. Good video as always! Love the content.
@@Sickwitit18 Yes, the optional titanium exhaust on the SVR was pretty insane. Fortunately, there is a fuse you can pull on the 2021+ F-Types that'll keep the valves always open on the exhaust, so they can still sound just as amazing as before
Same thing as holding the brake and staying at 2500rpm. The weight of the car was the main killer in this race, the rwd premium 3.0t version is the lightest therefore the best version.
i often wondered why people were so quiet about the F Type. its perfect. if i could afford it i would run to get one. i love the body design. reminds me of Datsun.
It was a superb race 😁👌The Audi as nice Classical look, the Jaguar is a different animal i like it however that Q60 just looks chic don't know if it's the colour, the lines and curve just seems times and the add on's very tastefully gone..
@Eugen E I know it is, I think he gave up so short shifted. 2nd roll looked like he shifted around 6500-6600 each time, and he won vs. The S4 that run.
Don't know how in the second race how the Jag was only one car length ahead if that. Yet was a half a second faster over the other two (13.0 vs 12.5) doesn't make sense
Ngl at the beginning of the video when both cars were 2023, I was expecting the infiniti to be like 2014 but I was impressed that it's infact a 2022... Lol
the guy driving the Q60 doesn't know how to shift it showed him shifting at 7rpm and then right after he shifted at like 5 1/2 rpm get people who know how to races please even the last race he still shifting early
