The Peugeot 208 is a great car. It's slick and way better than the Polo, perhaps the most beautiful car I've ever seen. And why tell people not to buy a Peugeot @Muzi. We are all different and hence have different tastes. So to hell with your polos.

Spot on Muzi, I agree here. The trend I’m seeing lately is that these midsize hatch backs(Peugeot 208, Corsa, Rio) trying to compete with the Polo are not exactly giving us the Polo drivetrain, but want to compete with Polo on price. Unfortunately if a car is same size as a Polo in the same price bracket, the Polo become the obvious choice for most.
I bought the 208 GT and its been 4 months. I love it more everyday and ive realized your meant to see above the steering wheel and not through it, also the gear moves very easily as long as you dont push it hard, if you move it soft it goes through the zig zag on its own

HowZit Muzi.? I've driven the 208 allure and I must say it's pure fun to drive as it really has lots of power. Acceleration is crazy. However yes, as you've mentioned, it's hard to see the Instrument cluster as the steering wheel blocks the view, so that doesn't make sense to me. Also the gear lever is very weird, having to move it left or right then up or down. Should have just been straight up or down. The car is a tad bit cramped inside and also very dark. Oh and the aircon controls are in the infotainment screen 😕 so yeah that can be a huge distraction. But still a fun car to drive.
Working in car hire years and this color in the flesh is amazing, Out of all the cars I've drove from New tesla to New BMW, s, The Peugeot cars always amaze me.
These small/unfamiliar brands were supposed to be a backup plan for expensive famous brands... but to my surprise they have passed the price mark so might as well buy a high risk vw.
I'm okay being like everyone else and drive a Polo. No thank you. Peugeot not for me. And just by the way, that's the dumbest gear lever I've seen in my life. 🤣🤣🤣 Why would they purposefully design something that is going to annoy its users. The Polo is a shit boring box for boring people who have no imagination who like driving around in soulless box. Life is short to drive a boring car especially something that thousands drive like sheep.
@@SherwinR89 Nothing wrong with that. Perhaps a lesson for you to take away here is that there are MANY people out there who buy things for themselves and NOT for others. So in that respect, the idea of sheep and cattle does not have any meaning!

Go for it, Muzi. The Swift Sport will not have as many “toys” but is well respected for performance and reliability. That Polo giving trouble so early in it’s life is not good.
MFC NEDBANK charges VAT on the amount financed. So if a car is 403K + car registration and admin which is usually +-5K then it's 408K + 61K tax = 469K, then take the 469K put it in that calculator at 7.75%
