"Today's Video has no intro, you can consider this part the intro if you like" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I have just subscribed and went through some of the videos in this channel, this brother is hilarious.
This is a best RU-vid channel. 85KW would be dope for those wanting to avoid manual and get some speed there. Still a comfortable car and will stand the test of time.
The vibrations is because of the 3 cylinder, they inherently have imbalances because of the spaces between firing impulses, thats why previous 1.2 tsi 4 cylinder sounds better and smoother. If it was a 1.0 4 cylinder it would have sounded good
Great review Muzi, I used to own a 2019 Polo Trendline with the 1.0, 3 cylinder engine. The engine vibrations are normal especially felt when the engine is idling, the gearbox was actually quite smooth and if not over revved, the engine does perform really well. From three years of ownership and 40000kms done, fuel consumption long term was around 6.7 litres per 100kms. I upgraded to the Polo Life Dsg 85kw this year, the slightly more powerful engine does give better performance coupled with the smooth shifting DSG transmission, the engine vibrations are still present on idle. I do think the Polo is worth spending your money on, the build quality, safety features, performance and technology makes it a great daily driver. The resale value on these cars are excellent as well.
To all the guys watching this channel, listen carefully to what Muzi is saying when he goes over the numbers of what it takes to own a car like this. We all want to drive nice cars, which guy doesn't? But when you end up spending the majority of your net salary on a car every month thats when the reality sets in because you found a way to make the numbers work for you but guaranteed that includes a 35 to 40% residual?? But you don't own property and probably not much else that is worthy of being called an appreciating asset?? Live and learn guys and build your net worth first before thinking about driving expensive cars which are depreciating "assets".
@akak-rk1ji They want nice time those ones but reality suddenly hits when you realize you don't own something that is appreciating instead it depreciate with time.
The IQ headlamps are high tech lamps which means they produce alot of heat, to improve the lifespan of the lamps the air intake used to remove the excessive heat
@@MuziSambo That 20k salary felt like you were talking to me😂😂, my salary after deductions is just above 23k but now I'm afraid to buy that polo🤣 thanks for covering financial part, really helpful
Mr Tshabalala I'm with you on that one, Mr Sambo is a great lecturer. He truly cares about our nation, and makes some people like me to understand that we should live within our means. I can't imagine the pain of having to surrender your car to a bank due to financial constraints.😞💔
@@HelloWorld-th9vb Go get a boring 1.8 corolla quest . Larger, faster and has most of the features. Yes its not as pretty or trendy, but itl be far more reliable and cheaper to maintain. Depends on ur budget
I'm a new subscriber here & I'm loving it. I got hooked when you talked about your new VW GTI. I love it when when you breakdown the costs of the car till the end, and I also love your Mzansi English(pronounzation) because I understand it better & I feel like " yeah I'm home" kinda of feeling 😅. Seriously speaking you made me appreciate my VW Polo TSI GP 1.2 2017 more, because I get lil crazy when I see a new kids on the block (GTI's, Life, etc) from VW. I'm a VW girl. You humbled me when you speak the numbers shame.
2017 tsi is still fine, but its kinda losing its appeal on the road, the new tsi is bigger and makes your tsi soo small. surely u can get a good deal if you were to trade in your tsi for a polo life. :)
@@asandaLFC I love it regardless. Money talks after all, hence I'm saying our lecture (Muzi) is making me feel content with what I have for now. The last thing I'm willing to do is to put myself under unnecessary pressure my dear. 😘
Great Video Muzi Grootman, Driving the 85 KW motor I can agree that the 70kw motor is noisy and crackly while the 85Kw is much more smooth and punchy, in fact the torque can make you keep up with pretty much powerful cars than it.
Back in 2010 you would get a fully spec'd Golf 6 GTI for R355k. Amazing how prices have increased over the years. Nice review man. I'm liking the reef blue colour. Also, the fuel consumption is probably down to the gearbox. DSG is easier to drive efficiently compared to manual. It's difficult to be as smooth through the gears with the manual.
@@Bahle_Gaji Madness of the highest orda😅😶🤣 You know, even more shocking was the Golf 6R. You could get the DSG with bucket seats and DCC for just over R410k. Imagine that. I really can't see how VW is gonna sell as many Polo's as they hoped this time around. At the price tag it's going for there's many other options. But yeah. I'm kinda over this whole car buying thing at these prices. Unless I'm a super cheese boi and dropping 500k doesn't affect me I'm okay just driving any affordable A to B kinda car. I ain't gonna kill myself trying to buy these expensive things. Maybe I should ask the boss for like a mega raise. Let's see what he says 🤣🤣🤣
"Salary nyana ya 20k e fedile" 😂 for a Polo that time.. Thanks Brother for Great Content. . . buying a car in this economy is a headache... And you are like GrandPa to the Youth. Salute
I used to have the 85kw DSG. The engine used to annoy the hell out of me. It felt like it will fall apart especially in Sport mode. But the torque is great.
I bought this car end December 2021 and have already put 10 000km on the clock. I've used it around town and inter-provincial travel. We mostly use Double Cabs, Polo Vivo, and a 2017 GTI. I mostly travel alone and from time with family. Look I have to tell you, this is one of the best All-Rounders out there. You sit 5 People relatively comfy or i should say the space is ok. As an allrouder in this segment it gets a 10/10 for me. Engine Power on the long haul - 8/10 as you're never short of power. Comfort 7/10. Value for Money...well, you make your money back when you sell it(retains its value), the high insurance however is chipping into the good resale. I am paying R1800 on insurance and have over 20years driving experience. If you want a small, comfy, engaging car with a sporty feel to it, this car will deliver all of those. Me I will only keep it for 3 years, my economics is based on that. There are certain features that makes the Polo Vivo feel like its a more solid Build than the TSI. Your Financial Breakdown is so accurate. You can stretch the repayments and take a balloon which should drop your instalments to around R5500pm. My advice though, if its your first car and you're earning below R35k, do your sums well. NB, TAKE A FULL MAINTENANCE which will cost around R9000 or so.
Great analysis my brother, and also thanks for highlighting the issue of Maintenance plan because these new cars can be a headache sometimes. People tend to overlook the issue of resale value when they are shopping around for cars and that's something I also hardly talk about in my videos.
Thanks Musi for this Observation the previous version before this facelift had the same trait .the denominator is that on the 70kw polo the vents are closed (One side closed) on the 85 Kw (Highline) Polos the vents are open ...il guess its air intake or cooling thing*
I Have The 2019/20 Polo (Bought In 2020), It Has A Similar Annoying Sound, Even When Idling... There's A "Trrrr" Sound. Gear 1 Is A Nightmare... It Maxes The Revs Even Before You Touch The Pedal... 2nd Gear Leaves Whatever Car Behind! 🔥
Hey, just got my polo life today, I chose not to add a sunroof, had my polo15 tsi sunroof explode, originally from Limpopo dirt roads. The gears r a problem, full clutch or not. But a good vehicle. Got it in white
About the grill my brother, these are features put and reserved for pricing. All brands make us pay for small inputs that we often call features. It's basically a thing to say " mine has I.Q Lights with both sides of the grill open and someone else's don't" .Now comes human psychology and amongst the community to say who's more prominent.
Bra Muzi I do not know but I think it has to do with the air intake, They might not use the same radiator or the ones with IQ lighting need more air intake probably to cool the lights but it is not like LED gets too hot anyway. I Saw Suzuki doing the same thing with the partially opening of the grill and the radiator of the car was not in the center but rather more to the right side.
The load or strange engine noise is common on 3 cylinder engines. They don't sound well. You can drive the Daihatsu, Ford Fiesta, and Opel Corsa and have the same engine sound.
I’m worried I took 2021 Polo R Line but only thing that shows is the 3Rs , one on the grill and two on the sides and the the nice rims. The seats are just normal, no R logo anywhere in the interior. It makes the sound you’re saying it is irritating. I thought that’s power from the R line kit😮
Thanks Muzi, I was busy getting mislead by a sales person, ukuthi with my R18k salary, I can afford this. Mind you I specifically asked him to show me cars around R6k cost of ownership 🤣🤣 😂
I think this os why Muzi said tell them ur budger of what tge car costs eg 250k pr 300k Not monthly budget Coz it seems these sales people end up adding balloon payments without ur knowlwdge
Bro I've been watching your videos since your interview with Mashabela... I want to the the same videos as your but I want to review shoprite prices, so how do you record background voice
another great review bro! And that dry p***y neh lol. Yeah, I’ve got this car in violet, loving it but the engine definitely sounds like it’s battling to pull the car at times.
The fashionable sub 1.0L engine is due to taxes, emissions, etc.. Alot of manufacturers are choosing the 999cc engine with a turbo because there are tax excemptions, especially in SA.
I really wish my friend watched this video especially the cost of ownership part before buying a Pegas, and the sad part😥 it has a balloon payment at the end of the contract.
Maybe vw can give the DSG for a day to compare the 1.0L on fuel consumption, automatics are made to be as fuel efficient as they can compared to manuals which we control
I've been looking for a Kia Rio tec for a long time but I can’t find it in the dealership near me...I'm still looking and I'll definitely post the review as soon as I find it.
