This car is all Volvo! I've had Volvo SUV's with every engine from the standard T5 Volvo engine to the Yamaha designed performance engine. I've had the small performance turbo charged cars like the C30 R-type to the XC90 and this car is right in between. It's got the 'I can get you Anywhere!' Attitude of my XC-90's and the 'How much fun do ya wanna have getting there?!' Attitude of the (sadly) now discontinued C30. The only thing I wish I could have opted for is the all electric version. Sadly our electrical grid will not support a charging station where I live. The idea of instant 400plus horsepower appeals to this old gearhead but the some odd 240 you get with the R-type and Polestar that changes the power-curve to better use those horses isn't something to sneeze at! The car handles great for a suv. Probably because Volvo SUV's sit on car frames. This XC40 is on the compact frame like my C30. The engine is string the R-type is the extra performance that if you want it or when you need it, its there. Safety being first with Volvo hasn't changed. You can set the cars safety responses to your liking as well, dial it up for when you hand your kids the keys (yep! You can lock in the safety settings so the kids can't turn em off!) and dial it back when your driving on the weekend in low traffic, stress free areas. It's Up To YOU! If you don't need it for a lot if miles a day go for the electric. If you put alot of miles on a car daily and on weekends, electric just isn't for you... Yet! (No Ones Electric car no matter what they tell you is any different yet. Daily Battery life is limited!) Do the gas version, the gas mileage is really good for a vehicle not just it's size but as capable as it is. The 'fit n finish' is really great. If you haven't had a high end car before you have a treat coming! The quality of the materials and the workmanship used to put it together is class 'A'! It's currently being assembled in Belgium.. (there's talk of bringing an assembly plant to the US!) And if someone says it's the same thing as a VW carry a dried up dog turd in a baggie, I'm sure you can find one in your local park, *take it n stick it in their mouth (*jj of course!) and tell em it's the same thing as a Baby Ruth (candy bar)! 😉 I could go on n on but I don't need to. Go take one for a ride. Volvos aren't for everyone.. someone's gotta drive the Subaru Tribeca and Nissan Juke and Murano... well most ANY Nissan 🤣 (the preceeding was all based on MY opinion... Of Course!)

If memory serves me correctly, the model in the video is front wheel drive but the XC 40 is available with all wheel drive also.

T4 = FWD. T5 = AWD.
