I worked at Lockheed when these things finished their production run. A few years later USAF wanted to buy more of these stealth aircraft. We looked all around, but couldn't find the parts. ... j/k.... stealth....
@@titanproductions3628lmao, how’s that any difference from Canada ?? We pay outrageous amounts of money for a health care system that is completely broken. That is not something to brag about.
@@titanproductions3628ummmm, go work and you’ll have insurance. If you don’t, buy some. Also, taxes are NOT high in the US. They’re far too high, but a fraction of the taxes in countries you would like (with “free” healthcare). If you think 20-30% taxes are absurd, go check out the 50-60%+ in European countries. Also, do you know how to do math? Let’s assume you make $40k a year (easily doable). Taxes on that would be around 20%, or $8000. However, being in a low tax bracket means you would get much of that back in refunds and credits. You would likely only pay half of that. But even if you paid every cent, that leaves you with $32k. You could buy insanely expensive, $500 a month health insurance and still have $26k left over. Compare that to a country with 50% tax rates and “free” healthcare where your $40k gets cut to $20k. Get a job. Buy health insurance, or do Obamacare.
That is my favorite airshow weather. Med/low cloud deck, lots of humidity, and lower light. It forces the demos to a lower altitude, gives amazing vapes and let’s you see those gorgeous shock diamonds when they light the pipes. Absolutely beautiful.
that's crazy doing all those manoeuvers at that rate of acceleration can't believe it just doesn't desintegrate, but yeah f22 is quite a special fighter
that turn at 3:40 has to be the quickest i've ever seen an F-22 change direction. and unlike russian fighters instead of coming to a complete stop and having to recover it just keeps going. incredible.
The same maneuver is performed at 6:16. Beyond what I though any aircraft could do, that has to be more than the 9 "G" MAXIMUM limit that pilots can endure.
@@user-rp5rl2kx2b all I read there was "I didn't watch the video, watch a Russian stunt plane overstress their older airframes not made for stealth and able to be reinforced."
We were there for all three days. Sunday's display was the best because the ceiling was high enough to allow more vertical maneuvers. I've been to quite a few airshows, and I think the F-22 in burner is the loudest I've heard. My daughter and nephew also got a sweet photo signed by the demo team.
Even though you guys only got the F 35 in England, it’s still a bad ass very this F 20 to those you can’t you couldn’t shoot it down with the adjustable rear exhaust or vector system. They call it. He can do a falling leaf it can do a backflip I mean that plane is acrobatic and it’s stealth acrobatic and stealth like the F 35 you guys got you guys ordered 148 of them I think you’re gonna end up with probably 70 of them but with 70 F 35 I don’t know if you’ll find 70 pilots in England qualified but 70 and 35s could take out any country is stealth stealth you could fly into Russia they couldn’t shoot you down I can’t find you
Apparently when ever a F22 does a demo display, the USAF have strict procedures and regulations on what the pilots can do and not allowed to do. This aircraft is only entirely for the USAF and no other Air Force.
In regards to pilots "holding back" during airshows. That's a complete fallacy. It's not some sort of "UFO." During airshows & exercises, what you see is what you get. Time stamp - 19:38 @Aircrew Interview. Demo pilot "Cabo" talks about flying the F22 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G2hBybE_YLg.html
That's actually true of all F22 flights, not just shows, except in private testing. Standing USAF orders dictate that F22s are never allowed to fly at max performance or full stealth, even in training with allies, so as not to reveal its full capabilities.
@W1ckedRcL : No, it's not true at all & that especially goes for (particularly NATO) exercises because if they did hold back. If/when they get into 'real' combat, instead of knowing 'precisely' what they aswell their Allies are capable of, they'll constantly have to second guess themselves. More to the point, the F22's avionics haven't been upgraded much since it 1st entered service. Many NATO aircraft (F35 being the most sophisticated) actually surpass it in that area.
@@THE-BUNKEN-DRUM Exactly that with the holding back is a welcome excuse if the fighter didn't performed as good as it should, like when it lost against Rafale or Eurofighters in NATO exercises. It wouldn't make any sense to hold back, why not just go up with a trainer aircraft then? And why would a Pilot "like" to lose?
It's always best to have a nice sunny day for an airshow (the aircraft can really make use of the altitude), but when you have this heavy cloud cover and all that humidity in the air, it sure makes for some nice visuals!
Well to be fair ist hasn't seen any actual combat except for the spy balloon, and in trainings it has been beaten already by many different aircraft, for example Rafale, Eurofighter and even an A-10 Warthog. And it will get retired soon. So the aircraft the F-22 was supposed to replace will be replaced by the aircraft it was supposed to replace, the F-15EX.
Ha ha ha ha ha, you make me laugh. The F-22 has never been used in air combat except for shooting down a Chinese balloon. It is easy to not be beaten if you never go into combat so that perfect record is a joke. The F-15 is the only fighter that has seen meaningful air combat (no balloons) and has never been beaten.
I worked for Delta Cargo in Hawaii and we shared a runway with the military right next to the fuel truck station. Every day they did combat take offs right next to me. It never got old but it did piss us off from time to time.
I live near this airport. Every year we get to see these machines fly above us. They are a WICKED sight to see. I have a great picture of me standing solo beside this beast! Totally cool!
I've never seen the Raptor "cut loose" like this with the power and hard turns before. This demo hardly bothers with any of the tricks this fighter normally does, like the "falling leaf" (probably because of the low clouds), it's just one excruciatingly hard turn after another! This monster didn't waste much time taking off or turning around, did it? Eye-watering performance!
Notice how it lights up right before the turns? It doesn't need hardly any time or space to build up enough smash. Even the Viper, or Typhoon, would be hard pressed to accelerate so quickly and keep all that energy through max-G turns like that..
I have to disagree on the pilot being damn good novice to maybe intermediate at best. In saying that I am not a pilot, just one hell of a keyboard warrior
I was standing on the side of the road on Dundas Street basically behind runway 33 with nothing but view of the corn until the Raptor got airborne. That high speed pass he did was very impressive especially from my vantage point I wish I had very decent camera because the vapour cloud that formed was amazing and I could hear a very distinctive pop pop noise just before he banked into the turn. The Snowbirds flying in the dark was pretty surreal as well the way they looked with their taxi lights on was really cool they looked like a giant UFO head on lol I bet anyone unsuspecting was probably thinking do they have a UFO at the show this year? 😂😂😂
@@chrisnauta2467 I kinda know what you mean. It's sort of a 4th generation vs 5th generation in terms of entertainment value. The F-22's thrust-vectoring combined with its absolutely massive wings+horizontal stabilizers/elevators is extremely impressive and allows the pilot to demonstrate how much control he has over the plane, especially at a lower speeds, but when you're watching an air show sometimes want to just see a plane rip it - coming in at slight downwards trajectory at extremely high speed then turning into a very wide horizontal/vertical loop without bleeding too much speed. In those instances, the F-16 is performing at its maximum capability and you can see how hard the jet/pilot are pushing to execute those turns which is great to watch. The F-22 can easily make those same turns so the pilots tend to demonstrate the high maneuverability unique to 5th generation jets: executing much tighter and more controlled turns at highly varying speeds (the F-16 would stall and plummet like a rock attempting to do anything close to those maneuvers). But in an air show, sometimes you just want to see what is basically a jet engine with wings (F-16) going full throttle and pulling maximum G's (even if such maneuvers are now semi-archaic :p)
@@jacob1423 But you know the F-16 is getting thrown around to within an inch of it's airframe's capabilities. The F-22 in this clip was probably 50% nerfed G-limiter in order not to give it away lol
I wonder if this crowd understands how difficult it is for a jet to go supersonic going straight up. A couple of times it was merely jet wash, but it was supersonic twice.
Best F-22 footage I've seen yet, I'll likely go to 2024 Airshow specifically to see and photograph the RDT. A few fish hooks are so cool to watch. Gotta get a zoom for my Z6 though, probably the 100-400 s.
i was ferrying the blue angels and F22 demo ground crews back and forth between PDX and MMV where the Oregon int'l airshow was a couple of years ago. they fed me lunch at PDX and found myself sitting across the lunch table from Cabo Gunderson the Guy who does these Rapto demos and the commander of the raptor demo team. amazing young man to say the least and quite humble and down to earth. some of the best stories i've ever heard at lunch!
No more skill than it takes to fly F-16's, F-18's etc.. it's all the same thing. Once you're a fighter pilot you can fly any of them, the differences are minor adjustments in learning what's where in the cockpit etc.. that's all.
If I was 18 I would go in the military just a fly that and they pay you 230 grand a year to fly that thing with a free house that’s not a bad life $4500 a week and you don’t have to pay for your house because they give you. Housing on base. If you wanna fuck I will take it for a few years to save up by House cash
I live rural, east of Belleville, Ont. CFB Trenton is to the west. MANY years ago, I had my private little 'airshow" Fighter jets (2) doing their 'thing' in the airspace above my farm. I don't know what type of jet. It was fantastic! Sat on my patio watching them. Lasted about 10 min in my area. They also came straight at each other, flipped sideways to pass each other, so close! Maybe they were practicing something/training? Who knows...I LOVE jets.
Unsung superheroes. If I was a fighter pilot, I’d have both wings (top and underside) covered with enormous pics of my face so everyone would know that I am the pilot. Spencer does peerless camera work with keeping the aircraft centre of frame during manoeuvring … and I never tire of that sound. Edit : Twin vapour cones (fore and aft) at precisely 4:36 during the high speed pass. 😍
A pilot that has never shot anything down except a balloon, and I don't think that is brag-worthy. I'd rather be flying an F-18, a plane that is on active missions every day of its existence, running combat air patrols out in front of the fleet. Every flight for a carrier-based F-18 is a real operational mission. The F-22 pilots struggle to even get enough hours in a year to be considered fully combat ready much less fly actual CAP patrols. The F-22 is just so expensive the Air Force just can't afford to fly it for anything but air shows and training. F16 pr F18 to me are far more important to the US than the F-22.
@@shenmisheshou7002 I’m referring to the élite capabilities of the fighter pilots themselves, not the aircraft. I’m not even a fan of the F-22, I prefer the F-35 A Lightning II and anybody with the expertise to push a jet fighter to it’s limits is worthy of bragging in my book. What do you do for a living that’s so revered?
@@phillipbanes5484 all a matter of taste, I guess. Strangely enough, you’re the first person I’ve heard, who has ever ranked that plane over the Raptors or the Eagles.
Bravo Bravo Bravo. You don’t miss my man. 👏🏼You and Elwyn are doing amazing things with these Raptor vids. Nobody can capture it like you too. And just know that we appreciate you sharing this stuff us mil avgeeks. 🙏🏼
What an amazing feat of engineering. I would think g-loc is a challenge. Those aren't you normal stall turns. Also, if they're showing that off at airshows, what will it really do? :)
Something like 6G...at 60,000ft and 1.2M. Which is where it's really meant to shine. Also, the new 'Combat Edge' g-suits really increase the tolerance, and cut down on pilot fatigue, quite a bit.
2:38....that scene looks rip- roar💥 # so fresh and so clean. I would luv to see old school jets with the " moving " outlet. Maybe try a concept craft, yeah? (Tornado, f-15 tomcat, harrier... etc)🤔
