First Ride Videos - Bikes that I've never ridden before Process 1. Get access to a motorcycle 2. Look up the base specs(BHP, Torque, Weight and MSRP) 3. Film 1 ride on the bike and be honest about how I feel while riding it
A solid motorcycle that checks all the boxes for the open road and daily commutes. I coulda bought anything and have ridden all the touring models, but prefer my RKS. Don’t need a fairing, stereo, etc….might as well be in a car at that point. I prefer the open view. Also glad I didn’t have to pay for a windshield rolled into the overall price because I needed to order one that was the correct height. I don’t usually ride with a windshield anyway…just on rides that will have me above 60mph for long periods of time. I live in Italy and while this doesn’t rip the corners like a sport bike, it is plenty nimble…especially at slow speeds. Tons of power when you need it, comfortable enough with excellent handling and storage capacity…the perfect overall ride for me. I do like other bikes, of course, but this is my primary ride.
It is a really good bike and does handle it self very well for being a big bagger. Thanks for sharing your insights as an owner with everyone. As I indicated I liked it better without the windshield also but of course its nice to have available if needed. I bet you have some really nice views in Italy and I'm sure this gets a lot of looks from people. Stay Safe always and thanks for watching and commenting.
Road Kings are the most underrated Harley. Its really a sweet & strong ride. The RK is the choice for Motorcycle Cop slow turn & cruising competitions.
I think most of us have, at one time or another, had that feeling. What was the reasoning behind letting it go if you don't mind me asking? I personally regret letting go of my '20 Aprilia rsv4 rr recently. I also keep looking for an early model Ninja 250 and 90's sportster for nostalgic reasons. I have a bike problem however and can't not have multiple bikes. Sadly my garage can only hold 7 right now 😞.
Nice review. You'll find the gear indicator along with the rpm on the digital display in the speedo by scrolling through the menu using the toggle on the left bar. I have a screen on mine, it helps a lot on long trips but comes off in seconds for local rides !
Thank you for commenting and sharing that information. I found it odd that it didn't have one when I rode it. However, it was such a good bike even if it didn't, it would still be great!
Thank you for watching and letting us know you enjoyed it. That is what we are trying to do with the channel and provide the best content possible and will continue to get better, hopefully. Stay safe on the roads and enjoy the ride!
I have been a Road King owner for the last 20 years. One thing I will disagree with you on is yes it has beautiful lines without the windshield, but the windshield, when it’s placed on the bike, does not deter from the beauty of the Road King.
@@MotorcycleDemoRiders I remember the easy drivebility and huge view. I dont use the Boombox and the navigation sucks of this Ultra ltd! Also the RKS is 50kg lighter. And i dont have a girlfriend who has to join at the back anymore. the HD Windsplitter, 2 backrests, a rack and SE Street Cannons are installed already on this RKS. The only thing is to swap out the 12” shocks for 13”….more suspension travel, comfort, better cornering and less scraping floorboards and side stand😎😎
Awesome video! I have a 22 Road King Special and also found it way more nimble than I expected for 800 plus pounds. I also don’t care for the fairing look, makes it feel too much like a car and I don’t want to be the 50th Street Glide or Road Glide to pull up to bike night. Standard RK is probably a bit better for really crushing miles, more shock length. I love being able to toss things in the bag and go! It does have a LOT of pull in any gear. Looks amazing. Once you get her off the stand you don’t notice the weight! I had a Fat Boy before this and it would definitely fight me a bit going into turns and corners where as this baby really doesn’t.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and for the comment. I was so suprised by the RK. I have a 21 Indian Challenger and I love it but I have a love for all things 2 wheels to be honest. I have been doing demos for years but this year figured I'd start filming the rides. This was the first time I had ever ridden a RK and wow was I suprised by it. I like the look of the Fat Boy however didn't get to enjoy my demo due to a poorly adjusted shift lever so I couldn't even upshift properly. Wierdly enough its my most watched video. Again appreciate you for sharing your experiences. Stay safe and enjoy
Great Bike! But like every King you have to add bars, breather, wind screen headers, exhaust, LED's and a seat, which adds up quickly. It did for me, but I love my RK
Thanks for sharing your experience with it. Yeah I have never bought a bike and not put in more money to make it mine lol. Its an addiction! I also love that everyone's bike generally reflects the owners personality. Stay safe and keep riding!
Good review love my ‘21 RKS Harley’s best bagger in my opinion. Nice and clean without a fairing up front.Totally agree that putting windshield ruins the look of the bike
Really enjoy your straight forward reviews. Clearly you like this bike, at least more than the RG you rode. I have a softail Low Rider (FXLR) plenty enough bike for me and our UK roads. Thanks.
Thank you for the comment and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Never been to the UK sadly but in videos I've seen it does appear that the roads are smaller than in the US. One day maybe I can get a chance to try them out. Stay Safe and Enjoy the Ride
It's a tough choice. I really liked the Road King! That said it doesn't have wind protection or a stereo but if those things don't matter then absolutely, I would go with the Road King and I would be happy with it. Either way you go you're on 2 wheels so Stay Safe on the roads and Enjoy the Ride!
Thank you for watching. I hope it helped you in some way as you make your next bike choice. I am always going to demos or dealers to try bikes(love of bikes) and figured maybe it would be helpful to film it. I'm sure you will enjoy the road king. I would also suggest trying the indian Springfield also. Stay safe and thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it
Honestly any bike can be a 1st bike however I am of the group that generally suggests a first bike being cheap and less than 50bhp. I started on a Ninja 250 back in the day and put about 10000 miles on it before I moved on to a bigger motorcycle. I still dropped my first harley doing slow speed maneuvers because I wasn't prepared for the weight and still didn't have the clutch and throttle control yet to handle it properly lol. It's all up to the person honestly and I do know people that did start on bigger Harleys and do fine. It will have pros and cons but can be done sure! Hope that helps a little bit lol and I appreciate you commenting. Stay safe and Enjoy the ride either way.
When I first released it, I had a logo screen for 10 seconds but decided after release that I didn't want the logo to stop the whole video. Sadly, no matter what I've done to get rid of it I can't seem to make it completely go away. Sorry I know its distracting.
I personally don't own a harley and never have but I did enjoy the bike. I actually liked the indian springfield more from a ride and comfort standpoint. I actually own a Triumph Daytona 675, an Indian Challenger and a little Honda Nighthawk at the moment. I just enjoy riding different motorcycles and sharing the experience.
I've watched most of the videos on this channel. I can tell you The Old Guy is honest and passionate about riding and wants to show what its like to ride. I've done demo rides and know for a fact that I couldn't do what he is doing. You don't know what your going to get a chance to ride and I'm shocked how much he remembers before he starts filming. Its almost like its being done live. Yes its a bagger however if you take the bags off its a cruiser motorcycle.
Very true, I have no defense! It's a bagger, you are correct. I do have an issue sometimes getting the classes correct. I sadly also refer to superbikes as supersports. Thanks for pointing out my mistake, and hopefully, I can correct that issue in the future! I'm guessing you own a road king, and I apologize if I offended you because it's a really good bike
@MotorcycleDemoRiders it's all good 👍.. alot of people mis classify bikes.. .. I will say this going from a streetglide to a road king special the handling is far better than the street glide /road glide..
Very true statement! As it is with most motorcycles. Seems like the used market is about to burst and prices will crater. Sucks for owners but great for buyers, I suppose.
