I got this bike this year and I don’t think I need much more after this. So happy about my cb500x it is stylish and comfortable and also performing. I don’t need more.
No biker needs more than 47 hp in Europe. Even at that amount of power you can out accelerate 90% of cars on the road, and it will cruise EASILY well above the speed limit. Good review. The CB500 and 500x are cracking bikes. You really don't need more.
It's not always about need, I like the power of my 690 Enduro R, for instance. But of course CB500x has plenty for its role. Not so long ago many cars were less powerful than it. But I guess it is relative 👍
You certainly have a good wife, just like me. My wife also bought me a CB500x for my 70th birthday and it has done 10,000 miles now. A great bike and I even tour on it with my mates up motorways and mountain roads, it does the lot very well. Just subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to your life with the bike. Ride safe.
One of the best reviews ( regardless of bike) I have seen for years. Straight talking common sense and no BS . Really like your style and presentation . Thank you 👍
I have the 2022 in green. It's a great bike that just fits. I find I'll take it for everything; commuting, quick shopping, short trips, long trips. Stable, responsive and a lot of fun to ride.
Definitely getting under my skin. Reminds me of my Africa Twin, but without the weight and inner tubes. Only difference is this gets to 70mph without me noticing, whereas the AT did same at 100mph so license a bit less endangered 😉👍
Downsized from an Africa Twin to an NC750X to a CB500X (2022 model) - one of the best bikes i have owned. Simply great and huge amount of fun to ride. Suspension is great and more than enough power and i tend to ride mine fairly hard. Concerned about the power until i rode one for 5 mins - goes really well
I had Africa Twin also, loved it until I found I could not pick it up. This reminds me of it very much in all ways except, of course, horse power. But I think, already, I’m enjoying the way it goes round corners better on its 17/19 wheels. Great fun bike 👍
@@CodgerBiker I downgraded from a BMW 650 last year. I thought I had made a mistake in the beginning, but after a season (6.500 km) of riding, I'm sold. Great little bike. And I have had it on a German autobahn. I didn't pass any Masseratis, but it did just fine. I ride in Norway. With the low speed limits here, this bike has all the power it needs.
My thinking is just the same. Motorway speeds are actually reducing as technology curtails old habits. I stay on back lanes as much as possible. It is a nice place to be. I just wish the snow would clear 👍
Good review man, you gave a really good impression of the bike overall. I like your style. Camera and sound setup is good. Nice to be able to hear the bike sounds.
I started riding in 1968 on my new Honda Cub 50. I’ve had a Honda CB 350, Honda Goldwing, Yamaha Virago 750, BMW R650, BMW R800 RT, a Harley Sportster1200, a Harley Softail Custom and I currently ride a 2001 Harley Electraglide that I bought new. At age 70, I’m seriously thinking about a new CB500X. I like the looks. It fits my old frame nicely. I think it would take me to my 80th birthday. And maybe beyond. Nice review. Keep the shiny side up.😎👍
Cheers Bill, that’s a brilliant comment! Have a test ride and see what you think. It certainly represents great value when compared to the rest. And, hopefully, Honda longevity to match your own. 👍👍
Great bikes, I had a 2018 model mainly for commuting (and a Street Triple R for weekends) but it got written off when a brewery lorry reversed into it while it was parked up when I was at work. Didn't get another but I still miss it, just something very no nonsense and reassuring about it, bloody marvellous on fuel too. Love the upside forks on the newer models.
Yes I really like it. Sometimes simplicity is a blessing. Although the new forks look more bling and probably perform a bit better, I still like right way up forks as they tend to be much less demanding to maintain in the long run 👍👍
Yeah we purchased two 2020 cb500x couldn’t be happier done touring and commuting to work.we added bark buster, centre stand, power outlet and crash bars.living in Australia but we have booked the new model next month as coming over to Europe on holiday.good fuel range not to heavy and good seat height.
Great informative review mate. Your content and delivery style much better than the other so called Brit reviewers who just do a repetitive boring formula. Made me go and have a test ride! have bought one that arrives end of June!
I bought one in green last year (22) FOR my 75th. & absolutely love it. Have, in the past, had ST1100 & ST1300 Pans which were wonderful but this 500x does everything with much less weight a 200 mile range & a superb price (£5,968) straight out of the box with zero miles. What's not to like eh!
Nice bike indeed. I like it. I had a 2018 model which I rode for about a year and felt it didn't have enough power for the interstates in the US. You need to be able to cruise at 85 or risk being run over! I now ride a 2022 Triumph Tiger 850 sport and this bike ticks all the boxes for me. By the way, I'm 71 years old and stand 5"7".
Hi Ted. Yes I can see that. In UK there are now cameras all over the place, you'll notice few cars coming past. Ten years ago 85 was the norm. If you look on my channel there's quite a bit of 850 Sport, my riding friend DrJ has one, great bike. He loves it 👍 ru-vid.com/group/PLeqBZ9Sn4T5uIDRPIO4VATuOLFzXrvrdA
I have the Kawasaki Versys X 300 and I can run 85 on the interstate in the US, but I was thinking about getting the Honda CB500X because the Versys runs out of power into a 30 mph headwind and the wind-loading of the large saddlebags, especially when I get into some hilly sections. If the Versys 300 can cruise all day at 85 on flat roads, is the 500 not capable of those speeds?
@@CodgerBiker I think it would be a good bike. I'm battling between the Suzuki V-Strom 650, the CB500X and the much heavier and more expensive Moto Guzzi V85 TT. I already have a 2021 MG V7 Stone that would make a good trade-in if I go with the V85, but if I get the Suzuki or Honda I'll only have to sell my Vespa GTS300 Touring to finance most of it.
Great review, I currently have a 1977 Moto Guzzi 850 T3 California and a 2008 EV 1100 California which is getting a bit heavy for me now. I'm 70 kg and 5 ft 10 and finding it a bit heavy now. Never been a fan of adventure bikes but am liking what I see. Looking to buy one next year and the reviews look good. Basic bike that does what it says on the tin. My 850 t3 is only 48bhp but that's old school, so looking forward it's just what I need.
Good review, no surprises. I think only the headlight design and color is the difference between my 2022 and your 2023 model. Like you mentioned, I like the range and its light, at 79, I know I can pick it up when I drop it. This year I'll be riding up the continental divide from New Mexico to Montana with some off road on mountain forest, logging and BLM roads. I've added 25 kg of crash/engine/radiator, hand guards, skid plate, center stand, tool box, luggage and pannier racks. I'm a little over 6' ft. at 100 kg and with 35 - 40 kg of luggage and camping gear on her, the preload on rear shock is set at 4 to level the bike.
Thanks for watching and feedback. 👍 I'm still growing into the bike. 1st service today, so can open her up a bit. One thing that is clear is the deep love for this bike by owners across the world - speaks volumes 👍👍
😀Interesting ... Picked mine up same time as yourself and the roads you were riding are very recognisable to me. Will keep my eye out and give you a nod ... 👍
I had a 500x I also called mine scarlet o Honda (0Hara lol ) , I now have a 750x because one day on a duel carriageway I had a nasty experience with a formula one racing van and didn’t have the power to get myself out of trouble. Watching your videos has made me nostalgic for my little 500 x .
Glad you like the vids and thanks for watching. My friend Maurice, sometimes in my videos, has a 750x and loves it. I’ve ridden it a few times too and like the storage. We’ll hopefully be taking both round Isle of Man soon so keep on watching 👍
Ideal bike for the UK, definitely agree on not being an early adopter, been there done that. Currently on a 650 vstrom will definitely be on my list when time to replace the Ol boy.
Excellent review, a great bike at a great price. I got back into riding after a 50 year gap, with dare I say, a Honda ADV150! yes I know A Scooter, but after 18 months I'm now looking to maybe upgrade. I saw the NC 750 with the DCT gear box online but it's not sold where I live. Then I saw one of these in the local Honda showroom. It looks great. Sadly test rides are not a thing here, nor is px. So either I take the plunge or just carry on.
Nothing wrong with any of the Adv scooters, great fun. You really should try a bike before buying, in my opinion. Weight is always the thing. Got to say this has been very good so far for the price. Ask if you can sit on it and feel the balance, it is a little top heavy with a full tank, but not too bad. NC750x dct is heavy, but tank under seat makes it easy to balance once out of the garage. Both very friendly bikes, as is the Adv 👍
I really like it , I nearly bought one , when I did my bike training all the instructors rode them , I ended up with a street twin as my first big bike
My opinion, “end can” color and design is fabulous; it’s different and like that. Livery is great. I want to look more when I see that bike. Your comments helpful. I’d look hard at it if in that market. Thanks
Good choice Codger. I know how much you've hankered after another Honda, so I'm glad to see that this one hasn't disappointed. Look forward to watching many many screen videos before you finally commit to putting on any stickers 😉 Exhaust - Got anything in mind?
Cheers Rob and thanks for keeping the secret 😉 Just ridden 100 miles on it. I have some changes in mind (shock), endcan may have to wait till I sort out a few other things. Of course there will be vids. I'm hoping we get to do a joint one, one day soon... 😉👍👍
Would love one of these as an update on my CB500F. Put all the extras onto the new one. Givi 56 litre top box,GPS,Centre stand. Good enough for some gravel road exploration off the motorway. Very lucky man to get that for a birthday pressie.
Great review, thanks very much, one of the best I have seen on CB500X, Mine just came in and put together, just waiting for accessories. Heated grips, electric outlet, center stand, Racks for my GVI 33/46 liter hard bags. skid plate, engine guards and lights, Will be using it for 90% paved roads and 10% dirt roads, as I have the DR650 for the gnarly dirt roads and light trails. What handle bar risers do you think. I am 5'9" with a 33 inseam and like to sit straight up. Most likely don't need skid plate but see one on a review and looked like stone chips on the engine. Trading in my KTM 390 Adventure Is a great bike and most likely will miss the pick up and go but want something better for the highway (long distance highway) and the 500 Km per tank is a dream come true for me.
Cheers for watching my efforts, always appreciated. I got 20mm SW Motech risers. Made just enough subtle difference for me. Voigt ones with 30mm back seem popular but cables are tight so I wasn't sure they'd work on 2023 bike without mods. I'm still resisting skid plate, I have a 690 Enduro which is far more suited to trail riding. Meantime I fitted a Pyramid Plastics Fender Extender to front mudguard, it reduces 'throw up' at the engine quite well. I will post vids when time allows 👍
Yes, I have had one in my sights for a while. Great all rounder. If I could have only one bike that would be it. And if I could have 3 bikes that would be one of them. But as it is I have a wonderful F 800 ST with too many km on it to ever be able to sell and I have a disease that causes me to leap at DR 650s everytime I am ready to get a CB 500x .
I’ve got one & it’s ok on the autobahn, be one thing for sure if you ride or drive on the autobahn you are never going to be THE fastest but you can keep up with traffic and enjoy great range. I regularly ride 370ks in comfort & no need to stop for fuel.
Good info, thank you! It's fine on UK motorways, I guess on Autobahn you don't have to be in the fast lane all of the time. We have snow here just now so only covered 100 miles... 👍
Thanks for this info. I had a Kawasaki KLE 500 in the past, a 2 cylinder 500 cc. Also a very nice motorcycle. I am now looking for a KTm 690, just saw your Ktm 690 review. Do you still have the 690? I want one as a second bike for the TET. My current bike, a 1090 is too heavy (225 kg) for the TET but for touring on twisty roads I like it very much.
Yes I still have my 690. Another bike developed over years. I love it, quite a different bike in usual KTM fashion. Possibly the most powerful single cylinder engine currently in production. Not the most comfortable to sit on for long periods, but it rips 👍
Your comment of “it’s a road bike for the state of UK roads” was perfect. I test rode one yesterday, I now want one! I did notice wind buffeting above 60, I’m the same height as you, your thoughts please.
Hi Codger, I was torn between the Honda CB500X and a Tiger 850 Sport as Dr John has. In the end I went for the Tiger as having had an MT09SP in the past I am a big fan of triples. Bad news is I have to wait until the end of May, such is the current back order situation. As your lovely lady was kind enough to buy you the bike, does she want to adopt any more husbands as I can always add to my bike collection 😂😂😂
Ha ha! You can't have her, take my bike instead! 🤣 We all have to make compromises I guess. I wanted to keep my 690, so I needed to be budget conscious. We ordered it back in October, hopefully the backlog will ease one day. I think you'll love the 850, DrJ does. May will soon be here, sick of this cold weather. Thanks for watching, I'm sure DrJ will tell you the 850 is best! 😉👍
I've got a 2018 500x that I bought about 6 months ago just as a second bike for short days out to save putting miles on my CBF1000 but very quickly it became my "go to bike" because it is just so easy and so much fun. I'm taking a trip to Scotland in a few weeks and because we plan on travelling up on A and B roads I'm taking the 500x and leaving the 1000 at home but if we were doing Motorways I think I would probably have opted for the 1000 even though the 500x can do the Motorways it is definitely not its happiest place.
@@CodgerBiker I agree it will do it o.k and I have done a few shortish Motorway stints with no bother it is just that the CBF1000 does Motorways absolutely effortlessly so because I have it I would take it.
Fancy TFT screens are great until you have to replace one at your own expense. You could say that an LCD is old tech or you could say that it is mature tech which is very reliable and cheap.
The honda 500 line up ( cb x , f r , and the rebel ) are the best begginer bikes and if you hava a tourer the best second bikes. They are so smoooooth. I had cb500 f , and the rebel. I sold rebel 2022 together with forza 750 2021 to get the nt1100. I still miss my rebel. The perfect city ,fun bike. If you can find a rebel 500 and test it.
The lack of technology is what I LIKE about it. I find it funny when people talk about 500 cc's like it's not capable. Do we forget Honda once made a 500 cc fully dressed touring machine? Research the Honda GL-500 Silverwing Interstate.
Just got my license and im torn between this or a Ninja 650 , i know they are completely different bikes but i just don't know!! I would be more a cruiser around the south of England and northern France plus city riding , so maybe this is the better option?
I have a CB500f ..its Far from. Being My First Bike. They are Great Engines Been Going Strong Since 2013 I cant get Over How Smooth They are Once they are Run in And the M PG is Amazing Just the Job with The Cost of Fuel in the UK
Hello, I am completely new to bike scene, about to start A2 license course here in Slovakia. That way I can only ride motorcycles with 35Kw of power or less. Do you think this bike would be a good choice for new rider being 190cm tall?
Hi Marcus. I'm 175cm. It is ok for me, I can flatfoot both sides. You might be a little cramped. I would try to sit on, or ride, a few bikes before you buy, if you can. But the CB500x would never let you down and is a good compromise on value v performance. 👍 Also it'd be easy to sell in future...
I would look for bikes with a higher saddle hight when I had your length. These bikes would be better for you. Honda CRF300L 881 mm BMW F 850 GS Adventure 874 Yamaha Tenere 700 874 Kawasaki KLR 650 ABS 871
Hi again, I have noticed something else about mine. Can you check if yours is the same please. I have a 2017 cb500f also, when I put the hazards on the turn the ignition off they keep flashing. But on the my 500X they turn off with the ignition. It seems silly to remove that function in my opinion. Cheers!
I haven’t got a clue what Casio calculator you used, the LCD display on the CB500X is great. It also has no need for traction control, riding modes or the rest. Your video started with all the negative comments spread by the uninformed. There was nothing wrong with the forks on the previous model, the changes are cosmetic.
The CB500X didn't come about as a serious Adventure bike but due to its wide acceptance it has evolved in that direction. And still it is well priced in the market place. However, as the owner of a 2016 versionI I have to say that I have found the headlight to be rubbish and a victim of peculiar modern styling. The answer to the issue for me was to have a pair of small auxiliary LED spotlamps fitted with the result that now the lighting is superb. These additional lamps are separately switched so can be used only when needed. The front of the machine with a somewhat triangular headlamp and a useless "peak" looks rather cartoonish to me. Overall, the CB500X is a fine practical machine from Honda.
I agree the head light is the least appealing part of the bike. It is supposed to have a brighter version for 2022+ but anyway I have some spotlights to add in due course. It’s odd how the bike looks wide when you sit on the seat, like my old Africa Twin, and yet looks narrow from the front, including the headlight. Apart from that it seems a fine bike for the (relatively speaking) price 👍
Probably ask whether or not it's worth the $2,000 jump up from a Himalayan.. If you are a seasoned rider, should you settle for this or pay the extra $6k for 5 years on an Tuareg?
Got to depend on the riding. If trails then Himalayan. If (UK) road, I'd go CB500x. Both, then Toureg. But then test ride them to see which suits best. Also dealer support. Toureg looks great, but it's still gen 1. Got to be a personal decision. I already have a 690 Enduro R for trails 👍
Hard to say. Depends on many things, height, balance etc. Personally if I'd never ridden I'd start on a 125 and see how it went. Cb500x is still a big bike in my opinion, and a little top heavy. But also smaller than most. I'd get some good training and ask your trainer they would be able to assess it better than me in a message. Good luck, ride safe 👍👍
I am 50, total beginner too and recently bought a brand new CB500x as my first bike. I have fallen off it a couple of times when going very slowly (a junction and car park) - so one recommendation is to definitely get those bar things that protect the bike - best optional extra I purchased. It took a few weeks to get confident but now I am very happy with the bike. Took my girlfriend down to Malaga from Madrid and it did the journey - 110-120km/h no problem. So, I'd say yes, fine for beginners (although I definitely need more practice at slow speeds!). P.s I am 183cm (6'0"=).
Yes I used those in past. Got a couple in the cupboard. But just realised it was on low setting so have raised it. Waiting for snow to clear to see how that goes... ❄❄👍
@@CodgerBiker that bike is so dam tempting.. Price and ability just enough to do most everything .. Like a tire change away from usable for most needs. A cheap manual cruise control lock and engine guards with a sturdy bash plate and some highway pegs attached to the engine guards. Soft luggage and done!
Probably best to test ride in any case. The rider is more important than the bike. It certainly has a well deserved and dedicated fan base. That says a lot 👍
Favorite Honda mid size twins were the CX bikes. 500 custom and CX650 custom along with one Turbo bike in the 80s.. Loved the platform with shaft drive and water cooled . Though these bikes never had off road capability at all.
I have tried the Hornet and man it drives like a dream and has a ton of power plus it’s very comfortable. I honestly think it’s going to be my first bike
In UK/Europe ABS is mandatory on all new bikes. On this one there is no off switch. Whether there is a fuse or not I cannot say, but I'm using it on road only, so it is fine 👍
I’ve never tried the CB500x I ride mainly two up so it wouldn’t be the ideal bike. As to off road there is a channel think it’s adventure x, he tours on the bike but has had it partially Rally Raided and takes it off road. There was another channel I watched not sure of the name but was an American company taking off road tours exclusively using CB500x’s that had been given the full Rally Raid upgrades, they said they find them perfect for their needs. Don’t ride off road but I suppose like everything there are limits and it’s never going to be a small motocrosser👍
It's like many things I guess you make the most of it. I've seen people two up touring, others have full Rally Raid. I just wanted a cheap (relatively speaking, no cheap bikes any more), fun, versatile bike. So far so good. I have an enduro bike already so I'm happy with this as it is for solo road trips, back roads where possible. 👍👍
@@CodgerBiker i agree it is what you make of it. One of my bikes is actually a scooter a BMW C400GT and I love it. Biked for over 40 years and never ridden a scooter until last year when I bought this on a whim just fancied it for getting around locally. My wife goes on the back and we’ve been on some longer trips, sits on the motorway quite happily at 70mph two up and will go quite a bit faster if you wanted it to and that’s from a 350CC single. Most bikes are very versatile and can manage all sorts of road conditions, wouldn’t imagine taking this off road though that might just be too far.
It'd do farm tracks. I love all bikes since I had a half share in a Raleigh Runabout in 1977. All have their plus and minus. Our job is to maximise the pluses I think. Sounds like you have same attitude. They all have that magic I think 👍👍
@@CodgerBiker I’ve had a love affair with bikes since my first Kawasaki in the 70’s anything on two wheels. My wife said I’d be happier with a huge garage and a tiny house and she’s probably right, maybe something with a viewing window, ride safe👍
Morning. I rode the 390 Adv some time ago. I really liked it. The fact I got a CB500x shows it suits my needs more. I think the 390 is more offroad capable in stock form, has better suspension for that job, but is less good as an all day tourer - comparison both stock. I already own a KTM 690 Enduro R, so I don't need the offroad focus. Here is my first ride ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0iDFipVohJE.html
Hey codger really enjoyed that, looked at this bike on the tube many times as a budget fun bike, especially as I am bike less at the moment so will be looking forward to many more videos from you on scarlet 😊 oh it’s the big (ish) birthday tomorrow, 58 now there’s a bonus so maybe I should bite the bullet 😬❗️
Hello, I hope you are well. 58! Oh to be 58 again, ha ha. So far so good. You know as well as me a test ride is in order. Hopefully there'll be more demo bikes for you to try soon. Relaxing, fun ride so far 👍
Hi, I picked mine up Saturday Loving it. I also had the 12v socket and centerstand fitted. I did immediately notice that when I take it off the centerstand it fails to flick back up. It needs a good help in hand before snaps back up oddly. I did mention this to the salesman and it's apparently normal.... I've never had one do this before. Can you confirm if yours works correctly? Cheers
Hello fellow 500xer! I've had many bikes with centre stands and they always flipped up, usually with an annoying clang. Strangely enough I noticed this one paused and needed encouragement to return, so I know what you mean exactly. Never had that before unless full of dirt. Our bikes are new so it's not that. However I've had it on/off the stand a good few times this week and it now seems to return by itself. Maybe it has 'worn in' so to speak. I was going to spray some grease in there, but it appears to be correcting itself. So you are not alone. I too thought it was a bit weak to begin with. Let me know if yours improves. I'll mention it in a week or two when the weather improves and I can get back to running it in. Great bike I think 👍
@@CodgerBiker Thanks for your swift response Codger!. Glad to hear it's not just mine, and that it seems to correct itself. Maybe the tolerances are tight when new. I also can't wait to get some miles on her. In the meantime I'll be busy adding extras. Love your video keep up the good work 👍
When (if ever) are Honda going to put their indicator and horn buttons in the right place? Dogmatism seems to win out every time, as if to change them to the most helpful position would be an admission that until now they got it wrong. Indicators are used all the time, which means they should be close to the other lighting controls. In the UK at least, the horn is used sparingly in urgent situations. That's why you want the horn button all on its own: you don't have time to fumble around looking for it within the main cluster.
I think it is fine if you just ride Honda. Same as if you only drive cars with indicator stalk on same side. It is a nuisance when swapping, no doubt about it. But, as you say, they can be stubborn, Transalp with inner tubes comes to mind. 👍
Great bike and yours is very nice to look at. Had one for three years and loved it. Great for touring, can sit on it all day long. Spoiler on top of your screen makes a massive difference. Good video, enjoy and it is a Honda!
Seats are definitely personal. I find it so much more comfortable than my 690. I did get a very cheap mesh cover from Aliexpress of all sites (about £14). It might help. Or try a sheepskin, or similar maybe? I hope you sort it. 👍
Hi Gary. Great to hear from you. Well it's early days, just run it in. I think best way to describe it is that you get 90% of a middleweight for half the price. I really like it, a grower. 👍
I've owned a 2020 model CB500X for the past 21/2years/20,000miles(single disc up front ordinary RWU forks) and I can honestly say the bike is a peach to ride and own,I regularly ride 200 to 250mile day rides and as a 70years old chap riddled with Osteoarthtitis never suffer any real fatigue after or during riding it. A couple of points, the rear brake will improve as the pads bed in,I upped the front sprocket from 15t to a 16t for m/way use and found it great not just for the M/way either but alround riding as it extends the gears, particularly 1st which is ver short on the original 15t,I'm 6ft/1.83m tall and found wind buffering over 50mph to be atrocious so invested in a Givi touring screen, problem solved,I also have a centre stand and SWmotech engine bars fitted. I live just off the East Lanc road not far from J23 M6 and I'm familiar with all the roads you're riding in the review so if you see a white CB500X coming the other way give me a wave or a nod😉.
Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to wave. It was a white 2019 model that always stayed in my mind after an impromptu test ride. This one feels the same. For longevity I prefer right way up forks, but this one came with the Showas so that's that. Only managed 100 miles so far, weather not condusive this far South of you (ha ha!), so I am still learning the bike. It goes round corners rather well now the tyres are scrubbed off a little. I shall do an update once the temperature rises and I can get the 1st service out of the way. All noted and stored for future reference 👍👍
Thanks for watching, and for the tips. The header on my 690 is different to the CB500x, not sure what it is made of. Also takes a lot of hammer on mountain trails etc. But will deffo try it. Thanks 👍
@@CodgerBiker The header on your 690 looks very similar to those on my NT700 overall tarnish with darker patches so should come up well with Solvol how long it'll stay like that is the unknown,it's worth a try though
I've got one of these, it's great on fuel, cheap on tyres (as in they last a long time). Otherwise its without doubt the most boring bike I've owned in 35 years of riding. I suspect it'll get sold this summer.
I have a 2021 CB500X. It works perfectly fine the way it is. Most of the added features other bikes have, are totally unnecessary. Most don't use them anyway. One possible accessory could be nice. That would be cruise control, could be nice out on the Highway. Most certainly can do without. One nice touch could be the gear spacing a little farther apart. Making for a higher 6th gear to drop the RPM's at higher speeds. But it would detract from acceleration. Which brings the idea of: It would be nice to have a CB600X, or CB650X. 500cc for a highway bike. It's probably the smallest cc one would really want to deal with comfortably. Being 6' tall and weighing 230lbs. For traveling and loading up the bike. A 600cc or slightly larger could be nice. But for off road situations, one could be perfectly fine with a 300cc or maybe a 250cc. Which brings the CB500X a happy trade off. I am currently doing about 25% off hwy. And will increase a little next year. It most certainly gets me where I want to go, no problem. As far as the 2023 models goes. Most everyone and their ridding styles. Most all will never notice any differences what's-so-ever, with duel front brakes, or inverted shocks. It's only a selling point for idiots to go trade up and get you to spend your money. Upright shocks have been around forever and are still used today, on many bikes. My advice is to not waste your money. It's not that big of a difference. Unless you are looking to MX the CB, or race track it. We should all sense enough to know that is a silly idea right.
@@CodgerBiker Sure! If you just went out and bought one, all good. If you don't have one, you have to get one somewhere. By all means! I just feel it's not worth trading up. Just to have the new features. It's not that big of an improvement.
I don't think so. 500cc was a huge bike when I started riding back in 70s. They are much more efficient and powerful today. People are too much swayed by marketing. Just my opinion, your mileage may differ 👍
