Huge thanks to Century Kia in Tampa, FL for making this review possible. You can check out their inventory at www.centurykia.com or give them a call at 844-757-2536 and ask for Preston. Thanks for watching!
Saw a silver Stinger recently. A real head-turner! If I was looking for a sport sedan, this would be near top of my list. Looks & sounds like a real beast!! Your acceleration runs cracked me up, it’s SO fast!! Kia’s killing it out there!
I actually was prepared to by this car at the dealership mentioned in this video. The video is missing the sticker added by the dealership. The price is well over 62k because the dealership added a "market adjustment" which they don't mention until you get there and see the amended sticker. Price gouging has to stop. They said they're doing it because all the other dealerships are doing it.
@@twoglocksss593 so many other nicer cars for that price. After two years you can get it used for like 25k off so why pay msrp unless you dont have a brain?
I'll want to have one of this someday. Meanwhile, would you be a little generous to hand me a $500 for my education and rent. I really have no option to meet up.
Rebecca H - The only feature I don't like in the Stinger previous to the current model, is the styling of the infotainment screen with its ridiculously thick bezels and small screen! Glad Kia brought a decent screen in the current model. Everything else about the Stinger is great.
I own a RWD 2018 HiChroma red GT1 with red seats with 39,000 miles and love it to this day! So fun to drive!! The paint is a weak link in the 2018s, easily pocked from regular driving on the highway. The rain gutters on the top of the vehicle have significant crackling of paint despite regular car car, waxing, and a garage. I've also seen other Stingers with paint crackling of the rain gutters admitted by other owners when attempting to sell theirs. Surprising to see how little the interior has essentially remained unchanged since 2018.
I picked up my 2023 GT Elite in Canada (equivalent to the US GT2 AWD) back on June 2 in this exact color combination. The only thing our model is missing is front parking sensors, but I paid less for my Stinger after tax than the US GT2 before tax if converted from CAD to USD. Already put 2900 kms.
Good review. I disagree with making a decision on AWD or RWD based on the included rubber. You can buy better tires, and if you buy a car like this you shouldn't lay into it for a while anyways, gotta break it in. I'm picking up one this weekend, hopefully.
Such a beautiful and unique car. I’ve been eyeing it for a while. Going to be picking one up in AWD because I need it for weather. So frustrating that you pay $2200 and they give you worse tires.
The AWD is a game changer but I agree that they should’ve kept the summer tires or at least have a no cost option to choose between the two.. anyway it’s still a great car and hope you enjoy it! 👍🏼
My dream car that'll be reality very soon. I'm glad Kia is attempting to keep the Stinger alive. I'm hoping they make a daring move like Ford and their Mustang Mach E. Especially in this world of increasing gas prices and inflation. However, it is true luxury just about. Don't buy it if you can't afford to fill it up. 🚗 🚘
FYI, if the forward facing camera is like the Hyundai Sonata's, (which it very likely is since Hyundai owns Kia), then the forward facing camera shuts off at 10 MPH due to safety/distraction concerns... it's not meant for driving, it's meant to assist with parking, and maneuvering in parking lots, and other tight spaces.
I test drove a GT2 two days ago. Was all ready to buy it except while test driving and resting my hand on the shifter, without much effort I accidentally shifted into neutral while driving. I think it’s a safety concern. I didn’t buy it because of that. It needs to be notchier or required to push the shift button to prevent accidental shift into neutral.
My 2020 had the rubber seal squeaking with doors trims. I purchased silicone lubricant and applied it twice a year and that went away. My sunroof also makes noise but there are videos on how to help with that on RU-vid. I think some dealers will assist as welll.
Please keep in mind the M2 35 I has almost 500 hp and is basically considered a sports car. The Kia stinger is not and has only 365 to 368 hp and is not considered a sports car so it’s almost like comparing apples to oranges, nevertheless Kia made a very impressive vehicle
Months ago, I think 2021, they were saying they KIA was going to stop selling the Stinger. Guess not huh. I would love it in panthera gray, red interior 🔥🔥🔥. Wish electric though. I still have my 2001 Grand Vitara XL-7 Limited V6 SUV, pearl white and kept it maintained and the V6 still can go! Thinking next vehicle (car) an electric at least. But happen to catch a dude's RU-vid video of driving a Stinger in Germany at night leaving a parking garage and over a long bridge I think, at night. That guy got up to 224, 225!!! 😨😨😨 Going that fast would scare the jebees out of me! LO! 🤣😂😅
Get the GT-Line with the sun and sound package. The K5 GT is nice but it’s fwd. You’ll have trouble putting the power to the ground in lower gears. The Stinger is a balanced rwd sports sedan. The only pro that I see to the K5 would be more back seat room. The Stinger is decent but not great. The Stinger does have a huge rear hatch though. I’ve owned a 2018 GT2 for 3 years now. I can answer most questions about Stingers in general.
@@Cgee3 okay i have a 2022 altima sr so i gotta wait a little longer but I might get the stinger gt 2 once I save money because I need a cheaper payment
Very little difference. They changed the badges a bit (in a bad way, IMO), changed the seats on one of the cosmetic packages to a suede (looks good, but not my cup of tea). That's most of the changes, I believe. I would choose the 22 GT2 over the 23.
@@mantis_toboggan_md yea im buying a scorpion next month and was wondering if I should just wait for the 23 gt2 but seems like there is literally no difference other then what you said.
The 2023 model is offering a package that gives you the wheels from the Scorpion package with a black leather and suede interior with red stitching and red seatbelts. You can view it on Kia’s website.
@@fabolousjada5070 the plant they use to make the stingers in Korea will be transformed to one to make evs and hybrids so there very well might not be a 2024 stinger. But let's see. But I wouldn't be surprised with the waning interest and sales in sedans especially in the states.
The M235i has a better engine and transmission. That sets the base price, then most German cars are all about add ons, sometime 10-20k more in packages.
I actually prefer real analog gauges for the tach and speedo. The Stinger has a decent digital display between the analog gauges. The gauges look really nice in person.
