@@AUTOMOBILZ Yota crowns, Daihatsu Tantos, X-trails, Suzukis idk for the title to say Japan sedan just because it’s Nissan and Toyota just shows how uncultured America is
The Q60 RS is AWD and is twin turbo. That's a huge advantage for racing from a dig. You get almost all the traction and maximum power-band from the get-go!
A lot of people don't know this. The Infiniti Q50 RS will win more often if you remove the run flats and give it better tires. A lot of the stock performance is held back by the tires.
Absolutely! From MotorTrend, 2014 Q50S rwd pulls .95g on skip pad with mediocre bridgestone summer tires that's on par with a 2023 m340i with michelin 4s pulls .95g, if q has better OEM tires, that old FM platform still shines
Out of all the other Chanel’s you show q50’s and q60’s the most love and I appreciate that because these cars have real potential and extremely slept on💯‼️
Great video, I just love the IS500 even if it’s not the quickest car in its class. It has so much road presence and just looks beautiful. I had the Q50RS AWD (‘18) and as much as I tried to love it, I never was completely happy with it. The shortcomings become a lot more prominent and less tolerable the more you live with it. That was my experience with it, anyway. To each their own.
I’d have to argue both of these have no road presence, Lexus is selling the same looking spec as the is500 on their 300 and 350 now. Other than the exhaust and hood, it looks like an other IS. Fantastic vehicle though.
Sam, without a doubt you always have the best drag races. I would love to see a drag race between the 10th gen 2.0 accord, the 2.0 Altima VC Turbo(running 93 fuel for full power), Camry TRD, and Kia K5 GT. if you cant get all of them together, at least the 10th gen 2.0 Accord and the 2.0 Altima VC Turbo. Pls, pls, pls!
Loved my RS400. Pop even a basic JB4 on it and pop up the boost 3-4psi and she'll be a lot more fun. Fully tune it and you will be in another league all together. I opened the eyes of many with mine. It was fun while I had it.
Agreed, the seating position is better, but its so visually busy in the IS. The seating position in the Q60 is better, but that's not a fair comparison.
@@jimwallace4164Q probably has more backseat room but other than that the IS is nicer inside. It’s crazy to me ventilated seats aren’t even an option on the Q50
@@ARentz07 Oh please! The one's in the Camry actually look better. The inner door trim should've inherited some of the stitching or carbon fiber they have in other models. It's way too dull and plain looking in the IS, feels like 20 years old already!
@@ntlos4591 Nope it isn’t. Trust me I love the Type S Tlx. I’d still take one over a Red Sport 400 any day. But Sam already showed us the proof we needed. They definitely ain’t the same bracket. That’s 350 hp vs 400 hp. The proof is already in the Horsepower Lol.
In the moment, in the car at 190ish kph, it looks closer than it is. You guys get the benefit of seeing the video and pontificate about how wrong we are!
@@jimwallace4164I definitely see what you are trying to say. However, when the comment was made that "it's a little bit faster on the roll," the Lexus was gapping, extending further, and 2+ cars ahead. Either way, good races and good sportsmanship. I get your point somewhat and as just viewers in this case, your point can be deemed valid. Respect!
My 2 dream cars would be the 2023 Lexua LC500 or Cadillac CT5 blackwing. I want the Infiniti over the G70 but Infiniti is not available here in S. Korea. Also, any Acuras and Nissans are not available.
Hey Sam you should do a race older cars from 2009 like a Camry V6 or G35 it'll be more interesting to watch you race older cars like 350z and 2007 Impala ss
Why would they do that when theres tons of videos on YT about those racing? This channel is for cars that you dont normally see racing that are also obtainable
Hey sam, I would recommend you to put subtitles in the video next time, cause there’s a lot of people who are from another country and they dont speak english
Here in Vegas on vacay driving a Turo-rented Q50 RS. I have to say it is most powerful from the light for sure. Just pulls strong. Would I trade my BMW 540i (my daily) in for a Q50? No, I don't think I would. A Q60 coupe would be a better proposition for a daily. A little quicker imo. Did a Turo driving that and the seats were an absolute joy.
i rented a q50 RS on turo also haha but ended up slamming into a pole and writing it off. luckily i chose full insurance over LOL but that was ages ago, fast foward to today i sold my c63 and bought a rs400 ;)
I think I've been watching every single Q50/60RS videos on your channel but never had the chance to race my Q50RS yet 😢 I just want to be 12.99 and I'll be happy 😊
I have both. The video is very accurate. The awd Red Sport from the dig will beat the IS500. Once they're rolling the V8 just pulls and pulls. Both are good cars but if you plan to tune or drive in the winter, I'd recommend the Q50. Excellent video Sam
@@shotz_ina7893Both with the 3.0L or with the older 3.7L ? I've had a G37 with the 3.7L that as been extremely reliable and now I hope my RedSport400 with the 3.0L will be even if I don't think it can last as long 🫣
Had a 2019 RS rear wheel drive…hated the open differential, horrible traction from a dig, even with up-sized Michelin S4 tires. Infiniti should install Limited slip diff in a RWD car with 400HP. At 60 MPH if I floored it, the rear would still lose traction…Unsatisfactory in my opinion. Waiting for my IS500 to arrive.
To the casuals who predicted the IS would lose on a roll: 🤣 They didn't know the IS traps higher in the 1/4mi? That is a good indicator which is faster on a roll.
IS500 won both races which makes sense. Motortrend got 13 second quarter mile for the q50RS and the IS500 achieved 12.7 seconds and a higher trap speed. Makes sense. Also the interior is objectively more updated in the IS500 with its large new touchscreen. The q50 interior is literally from 2013 it's very unfortunate haha. Carlegion is spitting misinformation and not sure why.
Both interiors are the same age and have had about the same level of updates. Yes the overall setup in the Q50 is the same since it debuted in 2013, however the screens were updated with higher resolution as well as some hardware updates. Despite everyone's complaining about it, it works pretty well at this point and the screens are pretty sharp. And if we want to get technical and petty, the Q50 has more screen real estate. Lol. Point is they are both old and its pointless to try and say one is dramatically better than the other.
@layne4376 Once you sit inside a quality interior, you will understand what I am saying. Seems like you're used to the cheap rattling German interiors, but hey... it's flashy! I will take superior fit-n-finish any day over cheap polished materials that squeak with the slightest pressure. I also drive a 2009 E63 and a 2021 E53, and I favor the E63's interior.
@layne4376 Nothing comes close to Lexus in fit-n-finish. Whatever garbage you're used to sitting inside, it cannot be called "excellent" in comparison to a Lexus. - And that comes from a person who owned/drove many high-end German cars (the S Class is in a league of its own). I am comparing the IS500 to mid-range mainstream models.
@@layne4376 The interior of Lexus IS with the updated screen is modern and it's very nice. You probably like the ugly interiors of Mercedes and BMW with multiple big screens that are very badly integrated into the dashboard.
Where i live the 500 is perfect the downside for me n its with all new lexus after the second gen gs n first gen Is is the aftermarket support, u can make the q50 into a 1000hp monster with tons of mods easy to find, lexus on the other hand only one company makes a force induction kit for them n thats rr racing a part from that you would have to go the custom route (custom turbo kit or 2jz swap) to make crazy power n that sucks because their engines are more than capable of making power reliably
It's so hard to say, I love my is500 but there are a few things I'd like improved. The car is a gentlemen's sporty sedan. It's not an out and out sports car, and I don't think that's the intention. It's comfortable and lopes along at 80mph all day long....if you are in the mood to get spicy it does so with a gentlemanly "As you wish sir". No surprises, but still fun as heck...almost a sleeper..like others say it doesn't really stand out from the rest of the IS field, but I think the IS's are a very good looking car. I just can't put my finger on it, but it makes my 120mile 80+mph commute a pleasure...and I think that's it's roll in life.
Although I have been a big fan and owner of several Nissan/Infiniti with turbo’s for boost and easy hp upgrades, let the record show that the Lexus will certainly be more reliable and hold better value in the long term. Forget AWD and put some good performance snow tires on it in the winter and you will not be disappointed.
I feel like both cars have good power and good potential but the q50 shifts could've been better. Obviously I'm no expert but maybe you swapping cars could've made a difference.
@@naveenthemachine You sound like a keyboard racer. Stock for stock a 392 Scat Pack from a dig will lose to a IS500 by 4 cars. However, from a roll 45-145 it is actually dead even.
@@naveenthemachine Once again you sound like a keyboard racer.. I've raced many 392 Scat Packs in my IS500 running Michelin Pilot Sport 4s Tires. I am telling you from actual experience. Go back to playing Need for Speed or Gran Turismo lol
Lexus is a driver's car. I've learned from owning my GSF that you can't just jump into it and expect it to deliver without studying and diving it consistently. Me winning races now verses when I first acquired it, the results are literally a 360
Never saw you talk so much about value before. In that case the G70 that cost 60k gives you more value then any luxury brand. And if you like for 56k you can get the car that took both on your channel the stinger GT with more value then any sportback out there. One other thing it's not 70k out of the dealership. you forgot the 13% Tax.
@@habibmalik938 if you put aside the aftermarket tuning part that doesn't talk to 80% of those sedans buyers both 🇰🇷 gives you more for your $$ for less. And you can easily tune them with a simple ecu\tcu and make them an 11s cars. Who needs more then that as they daily driver?
@@avis1978 why put aside then do it overall everything even for driving assistance features Infiniti RS has more better Cup seats with NASA inspired zero gravity with more Power ofcourse the lore power the better I can go up against McLaren 670s Aventador Porsche 911 GT3 RS and keep up even on track overall Infiniti is way superior that’s why the price tag is higher
It's all "our" fault. Shallow car buyers prefer to spend 20-30k more on a 🇩🇪 badge just to show off. That's why get them before they are gone, and you will have to pay 90k 🇨🇦 for a m340i or a 4cyl C43.
Yes my Q50RS had lots of electronic problems. The 7AT is junk. Have an M340I AWD, now would smoke both the Lexus and Infiniti, not just in drag race but handling, braking, and gas milage. The ZF 8speed is very responsive. The B58 engine is also in the Supra, supposed to be very reliable.
@@dennyo661 I have a ‘09 ISF and haven’t gotten beaten by any of those. I’m also FBO tuned 500hp. I’ve heard that about the b58 as well, and that engine makes insane power with just basic mods. Jealous of course, but it’s a boosted engine. The F engine boosted runs 700+ whp with the stage 4 supercharger kit from RR Racing
I didn't hear of you said anything about traction control, but I find that my IS500 does excellent launching with it on. Also reliability wise I think lexus is the clear winner. My GS350 has 140k+ miles and the most closely repair I did was the brakes and tires(worn). The only real issues I had was the water pump and the alternator.... Which was cheaper than the brakes and tires.
i got a g37x 2013 140k miles never changed my alternator or water pump jus pulley tensioner and some coolant hoses. recently changed my rotors they lasted forever😅 nd i be drive my baby hard af on the daily. normal maintenance 30k flush on differential n trans on all my infinities. also have a 2014 hybrid q50 with 162k miles never done anything to it but brakes. jus bought a 2019 redsport q50 w 16k miles cause i trust em that much😍 next is a m8 comp dont get me wrong lexus is king in reliability but infiniti got it like that too.
@@musoui Best sleeper car ever. People think it's a regular 350 until they get gapped. When you do get complimented by people, you know they're true car enthusiasts who appreciate the V8
I'm not sure on the elevation your at or anything like that, but I've got a 12.8 in 1/4 in my stock q50rs. I'm almost positive both cars can run better times. I have the video on my channel to prove it i raced a mustang. I'm also not saying my q50 is faster than a is500 all im saying is both cars are faster than what was posted well at least the q50 is.
The end analysis is spot on. Looked at the IS500 and it was horrible in the north country. The Infiniti is dated, we all know it, but it is tried and true. If I wasn’t worried about traction, Lexus. If you are going to piss pound a car, the Infiniti, redline stock, will take it day in and out.
Again the Q was definitely heat soaked by that last pass. The Q flattens out at the top end but if it’s not heat soaked it would have been a better race
@@ARentz07 It does but the effect wouldn't happen as quickly as with a turbo engine, nor to the same magnitude. It really doesn't need the oil cooler unless you plan to take it to the track.
@@user-yk5eg8qf5k you’re mistaken in more ways than one.. I meant the Audi A4 45. (There’s the A4 40 and the A4 45 with different specs) and also, I recall seeing both the M240 and M340 smoking the CLA 45 Amg that I believe you’re referring to
It’s already close to 500hp without a super charger? Where are you getting your numbers? 🤔 plus is500 is a high rev car gets it 472hp at 7100 and max torque at 4800 of course it will start slow but it will catch up quickly.
I'm here because there's 2 cars that I have never seen. When a drag race on a legitimate non tune car channel one is Alexis, the other is Ashton. Martin, so I'm hoping this is the first time that I see Alexis win. A non tomb drag race.
The only thing I dislike about my IS500 is that in automatic mode it shifts way too early, it'll never hit red line. In manual mode it is way better like we already know.
@@rook3364 that nice, but you are saying the same thing ppl been saying 2 years ago before is500 came out. We know it not a true F car like GSF, RCF, and ISF, thus the name "IS500"
@@yousefal-assaf2985 gotcha I own a is350 I was wondering what gear should I be for top end rn I got D3 performance tune I can go up to 160 mph with the tune but stock only 131
It will lose 😅😅😅😂,that V8 is pushing 500hp but on paper it says 472hp #the TLX has a tiny 4 cylinder turbo engine with 265hp 😅😅😅😅#Not enough my man and has no chance at all
the is500 has gearing setup for rolls, with a 3.1 final drive, with a 4.08 gearing the car gets around 3 sec 0-60. Also the 8 speed is not “sluggish” at all lmfao, its actually one of the fastest non dct transmissions in the world, look it up.
Swap off the heavy wheels on the infiniti. Will shave 40 lbs off rotational mass, throw on pilot sports and that care will feel and drive completely different.
Yeah ok, I don't think so. These cars must not be the Q50 RS then losing like that. Besides, you can't keep looking over or back while you are driving fast like that.
@brandonhughes401 Right brother! 😂 As if it's not enough that their car is juiced (turbocharged) and the IS500 is NA, which already kind of makes the comparison unfair. Imagine needing a tune on top! Funny people!
I wouldn’t buy a Lexus to race. I’d buy it for daily driving and comfort with a bit of sportiness and kick to make the experience fun. This IS500 checks every box. There will always be a car faster than you. Get something you enjoy and you’re happy with.
