Why do people keep racing the LC500 against automobiles that are legitimate high-end sports cars that are built for speed? The LC500 is a grand tourer. It's quick but basically meant for comfort/luxury with some sportiness. I should know because I own one and I bought it for that very reason. Plus it turns heads and is drop dead gorgeous inside and out.
The only comparison you can do for these is sound which goes to the Lexus, but they're built for different driving experiences. The Porsche is performance machine while the Lexus is a luxury supercar that also is built for more everyday use, especially with it's gearbox. Still love the Lexus more by far. Fun race to watch no matter what.
This Lexus is by no means a supercar . I would take the Lexus for touring on highways as you know it's going to be a lot more comfortable and isolated compared to the Porsche. But for everything else, the Porsche completely trumps it, speed and driving dynamics.
The Lexass is a luxury sporty car I wouldn’t even call it a sports car let alone supercar. It’s for poseurs. Who cares if these cars last 150k miles that’s what commuters are for.
I don’t even understand what was the point in comparing the two in the first place. One is a bonafide sports car, the other is a luxury GT cruiser. If the point of the video is to sh*t on the Lexus for laughs and giggles, job well done.
It's been said a million times! The Lexus LC500 is a touring car, not a race car! I am German/American, and have owned both cars. The Lexus is still my favorite day driver.
An expected result, Porsches always perform better than anything on the road compared to engine power, the Lexus is geared for comfort, very long gears for cruising. Even the standard Carrera can easily take on the Lexus.
Is not the engine, is the transmission, and you know about it. Toyota/Lexus never has had the most quick and fast shift transmission of the market, all is about reliability in this brands, nothing crazy. Also the Porsche is a sport car and the LC500 is a GT. Always is gonna be there the haters and the fans !!!
While I agree in general, the 911 is more of a GT car than anything else it just so happens to be insanely fast. They are getting bigger and heavier with every generation.
The only spec these are comparable at is they are both 2 + 2. Sports car vs luxury coupe. Also the MSRP delta was $14,000 and that's with no options on the 911... Would love to see the running costs of each since they are now approaching 6 years old.
As I was expecting, not surprises here -Still Lexus for me period . No for that I’m saying I don’t like Porsche because I love it ! But I love lexus uniqueness . Lexus is on its own category ! Beautiful GT with enough performance levels
Same ....stop with the LCs man get a RCF track edition at least if you're doing 2URs. The LC weighs nearly 4,500lbs for pete sake. LCs are not track performance oriented they're a vibe man and built to perfection. This is maddening. .
@@ryanturnerboles True but its more entertaining LCs are not even performance oriented. If your going to do it do it with the best iteraion of the 2UR all i ask.
@@Ahmed___9 I mean its quite faster. its a 12.4 car vs a mid 13-sec car thats 400lbs heavier. Common sense here. Around a track you would literally put car lenths on a LC in a RCF LOL. The Carrera that year is a high 11s car depending on the variant much much closer than this madness with the LC. Fast is a misnomer because both cars in this case are not fast compared to made up subjective ideas of what fast it that differs to every fan of cars. 11.9 with the perfect launch is a better watch with a 12.4 car then a car thats nearly aa second in a half slower and 400lbs heavier and not designed to race at all. I mean common sense here with that logic is all im saying.
That’s literally all you Toyota fanboys talk about. You also forget that Porsche makes the most reliable “supercars”, that would literally suck the doors off any Lexus that’s ever been made.
@@ryanturnerboles Exactly, we Toyota fan boys love reliability. They could push their engines and get more out of them but they prefer reliability. They are not made for the drag strip. Toyota's are built to last which is why modified versions are monsters. Old Supra, Lotus's using Toyota engines, supercharged GSF, ISF, RCF are great examples.
@@Marcos-ll5fsyeah they're so reliable that they broke down consecutively at lemans, the most demanding endurance race there is, trying to beat a Porsche. Stop with the Toyota propaganda dude.
@@Marcos-ll5fslol monsters 😂 What engine besides the overhyped 2JZ is actually competitive with any other performance engine? I mean lap times alone prove that Porsche and most the others are light years ahead of Toyota. Pretty sad that their fastest car is made by BMW 😂
Lexus LC500 is better looking, more reliable, sounds better, more comfortable. The porsche is faster, handles better. Very different cars for different tastes. For 90% of the people, the LC500 is the better daily driver.
Sometimes your comparisons are pointless you are comparing a luxury gt to a performance dedicated sport car they are both great cars but for different purposes, the Lexus is for comfortable driving while the Porsche is all about handing and performance even from the weight difference you would have known the winner next time drag race a civic against an huracan😐
Interior noise on the highway more than double in the Porsche , ok for a short blast but for a 4hr trip the LC is best . Most people will never use all the power the Porsche or the LC can produce, on a public road.
Porsche 911 is a performance car. The LC is more of a GT cruiser with NA V8 designed to enjoy for daily use. Once day the LC will be a collector's car as Lexus will not keep this in their lineup for too long.
Porsche is the standard for soorts cars, from technology, maximum power output from dual turbos, pdk, all is synchronized to work in perfect harmony on the track. Lexus is a very different car. Known for touring luxury on the coupes, but not a rival to The 911. Great race, love the lemon yellow on the 911!
The lc is just for looks and sound. It never had a chance. It’s an accountant’s super car. I’m test driving one on Monday. Cpo 4k miles 80k. Hard to ignore.
This use to be a great channel...now these races are wither ill-concieved or juat to ahow disdain for the other brand. Why in Gods name qould anyone on a lexus race a porache?!? We all knew the reault when you posted it!! Both beautiful though. Who hurt you at the Lexus dealership??
Want to know fact? That lc500 starts $98k and cost $105k with options. That 911 carrera S starts $130k and cost $150-160k with options. You get more bang for buck on Lc500 for sure.
If you got $$$ to maintain the Porsche, I would say take the Porsche a blast to drive. But if you want a piece of mind and an incredible and reliable GT with power then the LC 500 is the best one for the money.
No. Porsche would've beat it regardless. The LC is a over 4klb+ land yacht while the Carrera sits at atleast 33-3400lbs alone and has a massive weight advantage over the lexus that,no matter what the lexus did,it wouldn't have won in any way shape or form.
The weight difference is the main factor the LC loses that extreme against the Porsche. Thought you took a nomal Carrera and not a "S" model. But okay...that Porsche would also win against a 600hp muscle car!!!
Did you really think that Lexus would be close? that thing is a slug because it weight so so much. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful car but to be competitive in any race it's got to loose about 500lbs. or gain another 100HP.
Didn’t think I would say this but il take the more bespoke Lexus --and I’m a Porsche fan - the Porsche going have to live with everyone asking if it’s a (( TURBO ))
I will take the Lexus any day. Comfort, styling, creature comforts and reliability. And it's still fast if you need it. But, I mean really, how fast do we need these cars to go anyway??
