This is Marin Bikes Flat Handlebar Gravel bike. It could also be considered a rigid hybrid commuter bike. Whatever it is, it is well built, well executed and has been one of our shop's most popular bikes over the last couple seasons.

Great detailed run through, very helpful thank you! I like the relative simplicity and easy to upgrade drivetrain, brakes etc if necessary in time.

Informative video as always thanks Graham. Your take on this bike and it’s components is spot on esp the Tektro brakes. I would spend a little more $$$and move up the bike food chain for better drive train and bottom bracket. Cheers

Would you recomend it for touring? I'm a bit worried because easiest gear is 1 rotation of crank for 0,82 rotation of the wheel and i think it could be lower. Would i be able to switch the plate for smaller one? Great video btw

Thanks and thanks for watching. I would choose the Muirwoods for touring if you're going multi day with a fair amount of weight, both for geometry and material suitability. The DSX could handle light touring but I think the frame might be a little light duty for heavy rougher touring

Gorgeous bike. I'm looking for a winter commuter than I can slap studded tires on. I was thinking of an entry-level mountain bike with a rigid fork that can be equipped with fenders, but lots of winter bikers say a hybrid with 700C tires would be just as good. But then again, still others insist that you need a fat bike. I've heard beater bikes aren't necessarily a good thing and it's better to have a decent bike with good components that can withstand the rigour of freezing conditions. I have no idea all I know is that I'm in Quebec and we get a ton of snow and ice... do you have any recommendations?

Do these run large or small per sizing? Some riders are right at the M or L size and what would be better size up or down? Thanks

Most common is for people to size up

hi im from philippines can i ask for your opinion for long rides marin dsx or specialized rockhopper thanks
@BikeBrosBikeShop
@BikeBrosBikeShop 3 дня назад
That is a tough question without knowing where those rides are. If you were on pavement or smoother gravel I think you would be happier on the DSX - it will be less tiring because the bike would be more efficient. If there was a lot of roots, rocks etc I think the Rockhopper would be less tiring and more comfortable.
