It sounds bad because the 4 catalytic converters, 1.5inch diameter stock piping, and a muffler. It’s too restricted, it needs to be straight piped.

I was a hard-core Z fan when I was younger and I had several models but I haven't kept up with it since Godzilla and 370z were at their peak of popularity. I became really disappointed with Nissan in general ever since the whole Carlos Ghosn debacle.

I love the throwback gauges as well. Love that you can get it with a manual trans. Nissan quality may be an issue.

Stock exhaust should never be a negative, it's stock and has to pass test and they know car enthusiasts are going to change it. Fuel Cover has to do with the rear fenders and how it has to mounted. I'm not a designer engineer but I'm sure it has a purpose, brake ducts? Probably didn't need it. Less vents = better aero. I wasn't even alive when the throw back z logo was around and gauges will be replaced by a lid screen with all the information you need. Her opinion

Those gauges aren’t a “throwback” as much as they’re just a retained feature. Almost every model of the Z has features those 3 gauges on the dashboard

The gas door is like that because the body of the car is so wide in that area that if it wasn't like that the gas pump would rest on the paint of the car.

The Triple gauges aren’t really a throwback since it’s been in the last generation as well. I thought that was standard coming from the 370Z

The throwback logos and gauges can also be found on the 350Z. (And probably also on the 370 but I don't have one of those parked outside to check.) I agree that the new one is disappointing in many ways; even if the price was more reasonable it wouldn't be all that tempting. In fact, I'd like to have a '90s 300ZX instead of the 350. I guess I'm too into retro sometimes but if I come across a well keot 300ZX I'd sell the 350 in a heartbeat.

The new Z (Zed;) really does look great inside and out and its powertrain is fantastic! However, the area of design that really annoys me to no end is right where you started your video! The backup camera location. Not only is it not at least aligned with the Nissan script, it should have been integrated into the emblem above the Nissan script, similar to how the electric hatch release is below it.

Only thing I agree with you on is the weak exhaust system. Should've bought a 370Z. Here's my three hates of the new Z: it's over-priced, it has a digital display and is twin-turboed and not naturally aspirated!

I like my 370z better than the new Z proto. I hate the digital gauges, the turbos, the longer wheelbase, more weight and the smaller V6 engine. I love my analog guages, bigger v6 naturally aspirated engine and shorter wheelbase. 😛

Bouncy and mushy suspension, 2nd gear grinds, body roll, terrible numb steering feel, boring front end, crappy factory exhaust. And this is how the higher end model feels at $50k+ price tag. Talk about a fail from Nissan. Straight line car more than anything.
