Actually Honda Hornet amd MT 07 is not competition...you are wrong...MT 09 is competition...or Ducati Monster but not ...mentioned by you bikes ...Honda has only 92 HP... Triumph 130...its not the dame league..its a huge .. difference
The Hornet, GSX 8S and Street Triple are all 750cc bikes +- 10%. So they are comparable. They each delivers at or close to 80Nm of torque and all get to 100kph at about the same time +- 0.10 sec. The headline HP for the Street Triple is only available at high revs and not at legal speeds above first gear. The Street Triple is faster on a track or at licence loosing speeds, but for every day riding at normal revs is not. I have owned a recent model Street Triple and GSX 8S. The 8S is as quick as the Street Triple up to the speed limit. Probably a bit sharper at low rpm. The MT07 is down on torque and HP but still famously very torquey and snappy. Where the Street differs is quality and top end performance, basically for the track. Also price. The cost puts it up with large bikes including the MT09, Duke and Monster. Noting the Monster starts at the same price as the RS and is inferior in handling. Bit more torque. The Street has less torque than these bigger bikes and torque is what counts for every day riding.
I can’t believe you are comparing this to the MT07, which is a 650cc bike without even a slip assisted clutch. In most markets the MT07 is used as an A2 or LAMS bike and restricted to 40KW. The bike you are riding is a 90KW bike.
The standard MT07 is 700cc and very torquey. But yeh a different class of bike. The Hornet, GSX 8S and Street Triple are all 750cc bikes +- 10%. So they are comparable. I rode my Street Triple quickly enough and seldom would have got to 100 hp output much less the 114 headline figure. However torque was good, better than the GSX S750 four with the same headline HP.
