We're back behind the wheel of a BMW 7 Series! The last one we featured was all the way back in November 2019, 4 whole years. Let us know what you think about the G70 BMW 7 Series.

This review is FUN to watch. So funny. I like the all-electric version of this same car, too. It's a total 180 degrees apart from the BMWs of the 1970s and 1980s. Back then, all of motoring journalism BEMOANED North American cars that were too comfortable and floaty. Nowadays...perhaps because the world outside the windows has become apocalyptically bad...we seem to value the pampering these cars can offer us. Unlike the cars of my youth, though, the cars of this ilk don't seem to get in the way of the driver. This would have seen as a miracle invention back in my...century, 😆🤣.

The pampering is definitely nice on this one, the massaging seats were used to their fullest extent this week.

I’ve always thought of the 7 series as a car you get driven in, not a car you drive, so I was happy to see you decided to film it the way you did. 😂

They definitely are! Although the BMWs are more driver-oriented versus a Mercedes S-Class, the back seats on this are absolutely the place to be. We had fun filming this one!

It's been a while since we last saw you Nile. Hope all is well buddy. When this 7 first came out, I hated it. Now, it's growing on me! I understand that a 770i is coming out as the i7 70 is already out.

I have been around full time for several months now! Sounds like that infamous RU-vid Algorithm isn't serving up our videos. The i7 does have an M70 version, yes! We had planned an alternative intro where we discussed the nomenclature on these modern BMWs, as a 760i would have designated it as a V12 last generation, yet now we have an M70 version for some models. BMW seems to be playing math games to get customers excited about their M Performance line.

I've been a Cadillac guy since the 96 Sedan Deville. I've never cared about the 7, and when Cadillac killed the CT6 Blackwing, I was sure I'd have to buy an S Class. Then I saw this car in my news app. I thought, wow! That's ugly! It made me think of the 03 CTS. I had to have it! 😂 Lss, I bought a fully loaded 24 and I'm having a blast with it! I still think magneride is a better suspension, but I'm now a bmw guy.

Glad to hear it! I was disappointed when the CT6 went away, we actually did a comparison against the BMW 7 Series and Cadillac CT6 a while ago.

Hi. I own the plugin hybrid version of this car, and have to say, great review. And for one particular reason too - unlike other journalists, you guys see the car as more than the sum of its parts. It is more than about auto doors, the theatre screen or crystal headlights. I didnt spec any of those either because as you said of the former, its a gimmick. The headlights i guessed would be indistinguishable once poor weather sets in and damges them. And anyway, you arent the one who would benefit as you're inside unable to appreciate them. Its just another thing to go wrong and show off about on a german car. More than that, the auto doors didnt seem to make much sense: you still have to touch the door to open it, unless youre on the app or sitting in the driver seat opening for passenegers. Hardly 'automatic'. The sensors are also not great, and theres a noticable delay. Its quicker to shut them yourself!Perhaps for the next gen car this will be ironed out. Also, if you wish to close them manually, the motors make them much heavier than the standard door. And ofcos, if its raining, all your servos and motors will only endure more wear and tear on the 40-odd sensors for the auto doors. A recipe for disaster and repairs on a non-Japanese car. (For reliability reasons and others on a big saloon like this, I actually long planned for the LS500 in Takumi trim wirh hand pleated and Kiriko glass, but the way the dealerships seemed to run their business despite few people showing interest in the LS, you'd think they'd make more of an effort to shift units..) Anyway. Its how everything comes together to make the BMW a cohesive whole that makes it a good car. Something your review lucidly illustrates. From its presence, comfort fr air suspension, engineering of the flush window and B pillars, 'carved logo', and the flat hood that 'sits' on the top. As any engineer will tell you, these are difficult to execute and expensive design touches. You also get excellent voice control, self parking and driving, and as i drive it myself, the dynamics bmw are known for. The zero body roll in the car is insane. Digital key plus to check/update/charge the car, as well precondition it, unlock etc. and, not sure if available to you in Canada as you didn't mention it, also get out and let the car park itself using a phone as a remote control if space is particularly tight. Lastly, a word on the looks. No one should spend this much coin on a car they think looks hideous. But I think the front is fantastically different and original to anything BMW and the old german trifecta had been ballsy enough to put out before, especially on a flagship. Futusitic and bold yes, but moreso, intimidating (to the occupants too) with the aura of a titan. It's telling that only the people I know who studied architecture and design (I did some too) like the fascia but the general population do not. It's true the car is suited to darker hues. I chose tanzanite blue II on the M Sport version, then added the M sport package on top. This gives it gloss black front without looking too busy, so less executive and more sports saloon. Look forward to your other reviews. Great unbiased journalism.

There are a lot of ways to load these cars up with a lot of experimental technology, which is fun to try out for a week as a journalist but not likely stuff I'd want to live with long term. It was a fun car to drive and feature, and as a previous 7 Series owner I'm always intrigued by the latest and greatest the brand has to offer. Enjoy yours! Thanks for sharing your experiences with your own.

Personal opinion: I stopped by BMW dealer. The car is gorgeous but not 130k - 190k gorgeous ( at least for me). Frankly, I don't care for all the gadgets any more. Removing all the things I don't care about I got it down to 102k which still put me at 1,600 per month with 10k down and excellent credit. By the time I got home I realized that I don't care enough so now it's off my list...actually I was getting it for my wife. Still NO! I think I'm fet up with the price gouging. Again, just my opinion

The 5 Series might be a good option then, while it isn't as big it shares most of the exterior design elements from this 7 Series and costs a lot less by comparison.

I was very comfortable with plenty of space in it. We have the i7 (electric version) of this booked in a few weeks where we'll be taking it on a long road trip, so we'll have some more thoughts to share on the overall comfort during a longer term drive.

Gone, unfortunately. Global emissions regulations are what killed the V12 in general.

I drive the E66. So these news BMW's are so far away from what they should be, it's almost like they make it exclusively for the Chinese market buyer.

For the 2025 model, the driver will be positioned inside, looking out of the grille, which will encompass the entire front of the car.

I have had the car for a year. Nice car but the electronics are a disaster. Been in for service countless times and still no fix. Voice control is spotty, android auto is buggy, connections etc are also buggy. BMW needs to slim down the tech as they are way ahead of themselves. Very very frustrating experience.
