What’s that STRANGE NOISE that I hear? Does that BMW have a TURN SIGNAL ?? I’m impressed! ! They don’t make turn signals on BMWs in California. 🐭

I have this BMW and really love it. I have a level 2 charger in my garage and it's charged up every time i leave the house. My BMW report says I drive electric 95% of the time. I haven't purchased gas in almost 3 months. The gas gauge has barely moved. I love that it has everything including Android Auto. I want an iX the next time i buy a car.

I would love the x5 in a BEV version. I have had 3 different x5 models over the years. The iX is just too different and some of the dynamics of the ix make are terrible in the city which is where 99% of my driving is.

Just get a used Chevy volt for 20% the price. I love mine. Volt Gen 1 gets 38 all electric. Gen 2 is something like 55 all electric.

They are the way to go because they have more components under the hood. They’re great for the dealerships because they still need maintenance. If you do fire research, they burn up more than 100% gas cars.

The compromise IS large, regardless of your opinion. The daily cycling of that small battery is going to cause significant degradation. That battery is going to have to work so much harder and a lot of these PHEV's don't have a robust cooling system and are not able to run on EV during winter. We learned these lessons before Chevy killed the VOLT which had liquid cooling. We are relearning these lessons with the Mitsubishi outlander PHEV. For someone who is reviewing these cars for the rest of us, you MUST be doing this research and appropriately weigh the pros and cons. Unless Money isn't a consideration.

You are comparing PHEV tech from a wide range of years and price points. When you say "we", are you implying you are a part of the many teams at these manufacturers developing PHEVs? Do you have any data to back up these claims?

You try to sound erudite, but the essence of what you produced there is nonsense! PHEVs in these segments come with very effective battery management systems (BMS). This one here has the same BMS of IX which has proven to be very robust. On top of it's ~30 kwh battery with ~20 kwh usable, so you can see the head room and buffer built into the battery to withstand frequent recycling. On top of it it has no fast charging and ~7 kwh AC charging capacity, which is a very good thing for the battery life. Of course, that limits how fast you can juice to your battery, but that's where the king of ICE engines, the splendid B58 steps in, bringing power and efficiency in spades. It works in miller cycle and is more efficient even in ICE only operation, which happens very rarely because the hybrid is charging the battery even in inclement situations. So far I have been very civil in my response, which is a blasphemy on the internet, so to keep up with tradition, you're just a dumbass who doesn't know jack shit of what you're talking about
