Excellent comment. Everyone does not want (or need ) to spend between 30 and 50 thousand dollars on a new veehicle. For under 25K you can get a great "LT", with 2 packages, which has (almost) everthing anyone could want on a new car without realy breaking the bank. And it runs great too.

It's hard to find any model. Dealerships in the state of Michigan have zero trax on there lots. If you order one, 4 to 7 months, that's if you're lucky! They all claim vehicles in transit. I've had my black activ for seven weeks, a little over 1800 miles. There is no way I could see myself liking an LS better than loaded activ.

To be perfectly honest, the reason why it's so hard to find a base model is because most dealerships for most vehicle models (this is across the country and for all makes/models, not just the Chevy Trax) don't really sell many base models. The idea is always to upsell anyways, and the old "for a few bucks more you get this!" is the dealership special. If you were to break down every vehicle model into a Base-Trim, Mid-Trim, and Top-Trim, and then say "for every 10 cars delivered to the lot", you'd probably see a dealership get 2-base trim, 5 mid-trim and 3 top-trim delivered. Though obviously top trims are the goal of a dealership to sell, the meat of their sales (this is industry-wide, with the occasional exception of course) is the mid-trim model, and that being said, that's what they have delivered the most to the dealership. So you, as a potential determined base-trim buyer (and those with the same thought in mind) will have a harder time finding what you're looking for because basically 8 out of 10 Chevy Trax's delivered to the lot are NOT base-trim models and the few that do get delivered will be bought up. You can always order EXACTLY what you want if you're willing to wait though. I did that when I wanted a very specific car, trim and color combination... had to wait 6 months, but as the 2nd most expensive purchase in my life, i'm not going to go "meh, whatever they have will do"... I ordered EXACTLY what I wanted and waited (definitely worth the wait to me).

@703Speed I like that you do that. When it comes down to it, I have found base models, anymore, are not a real sacrifice. Do we really need a button to open the tail gate for us? Nice, but no...

@@703Speed I wonder how hard it will be to get a base LS model, you know the one that has the MSRP of $20,450? The companies always offer a teaser trim at the lowest price but you can never find that model on the lot for purchase, (yes, they may produce a few out of the tens of thousands so they can't be accused of deceptive advertising!)

For the price, you sure get a lot! I test drove a black ls, 5 months ago. It's still on the lot. Shortly, I have a military claim soon to come to me, and if said LS is still There, I will have a rigorous inspection and diagnostic performed, than if it passes, it will come home with me! Excellent video! Makes me appreciate what a bargain is available! Wow, lots of value!

Extended warranty from the dealerships or anyone else is a waste of money. The only one that benefits is the dealerships. The reason dealerships push extended warranties on the customer, it's one of their biggest money makers. Wait until you have to use it. Did you read the fine print.

@@703Speed Looking at the Buick Envista as well. The Buick appears to be perhaps a little nicer in terms of interior finishes, but also a couple thousand $ more expensive. Both are stupid cheap, so the price difference really means nothing. I do however prefer the look of the Trax...

Yeah, should have came with AWD as an option.. but ig the fwd is what makes it more affordable

not a bad price to fill but the range isnt that great they should of just put a bigger engine in it to increase the range lol
